Well well well, what have I found here? NEW THREAD!

    >Katia: Use the rope to climb down the well, silly cat. Preferably take something long that you can use to strike at the fish with.
And make SURE you tie the rope around your waist, first!

    >Katia: Hold your hatchet in one hand, and with the other hold something out--the ruined book or something else that's disposable--and use it to lure the fish out of the water. If you time yourself right, you can hit them one at a time at a safe distance.
EDIT: On that note, might want to keep your tail up. Let's avoid unintentional luring devices getting baited.

Wait. You want her to set something on fire? In an enclosed spaced with very little oxygen!

Katia: Not only are cat jokes imature and unfunny, they are also ignorant. The Khajiit are more closly related to elves than cats. Also as a Khajiit you are one of the fastest, cleverest, and most beautiful of children of Nirni and made so by Azurah herself. It should be well within your means to destroy these lesser creatures without resorting to the magic used by the disgusting, stupid and slow Elves.

    Re: PREQUEL suggestion box

Katia: Good job so far! Im reasonably, cautiously optimistic at this point. Now you're hanging on that rope above potential death by drowning and pointy teeth, I believe it's the perfect time to remember you *did* of course have enough magicka left as back-up to the axe. Being a soon-to-be Mage's Guild initiate and all, you must be able to sense your magicka supply by now, and more so with that amulet removed for the moment.
Oh and Slaughterfish can't leap all that high out of the water right?... No, no pretty sure they don't at all.

    Re: PREQUEL suggestion box

Alright Katia, now that you're nice and in the well, first I want you to take a good look at those Slaughterfish. Their teeth in particular.
And would you mind reflecting on the worst injury you ever suffered, and comparing that to getting a big chunk taken out of you by those teeth. Probably multiple times, because when your blood drips into the water, they're going to probably flip out.
Like I'm not sure if you properly appreciate that you really could die here. And if you do understand that, then a serious question is raised of whether or not you have a death wish.
Do you really value your life so little?

Also now that you're in the well, how do you plan on swinging your hatchet at them?

    Re: PREQUEL suggestion box

    But wait... one after-thought.

Katia: So, the temptation was too great. You just threw on a rope and jumped nearly whiskers first into one long container of liquid. Hope you realise the real reason why you just couldnt turn your back on this.

    Re: PREQUEL suggestion box

Ok, lets try this a different way:

The fish got into the well "somehow"
In order to survive to this size, someone had to be taking care of them
THERE ARE TWO WELLS IN THIS RELATIVELY SMALL TOWN. Ask yourself, why is that?

So if someone has been keeping these fish alive, why would they dig a second well in a corner, away from the majority of foot traffic? To prevent accidental use or injury to visitors and the fish?
But why even keep the fish? Didn't you yourself say that they are made of food and alchemical ingredients? Who would want a cheap and replenishable source of alchemical ingredients, and still have enough sway over town officials to get an extra well dug as a hatchery? Didn't Asotil say that the LEADER OF THE MAGES GUILD, Sigrid, liked to skirt the law and persuade others to get her way?

Now that you've thought of all of that, completely on your own, wouldn't killing these fish piss off the head of the mage's guild more than your meager charisma can overcome?

Katia: For future reference, if you're going to tell someone that you're off to do something dangerous as a safety measure, it should be someone a little less useless than Hirtel. Just saying.

Unless you are very skilled at using your tail as bait for hungry fish and jerking it away from them safely at the last possible instant, you will probably want to keep your tail tucked out of the way. Your toes as well, if you can manage it. Ideally, the closest part of you to your foes should be the edge of your hatchet, but it's also important to maintain your balance and stability.

Before you go wading in (heh) to the actual combat, stop a good distance away from the surface of the water and try a few practice swings, adjusting your position as necessary. Make sure that you can maintain your balance as you swing the hatchet. As you get more confident, let yourself down lower until you can confront the fish. Remember that they may jump!

Okay, Katia. This next part should be real simple. Only swing the hatchet downward. You don't want to accidentally cut the rope. Your Night-Eye should help you spot the fish. Speaking of which, you need to keep your tail in control; you don't want that twitching into the water and becoming fish food.

If you lose the hatchet somehow, LEAVE. Your natural claws are no match for a slaughterfish's natural slaughter.

Also, you should reconsider the use of "Fucking" as your middle name; that's probably something better left in a former life.

EDIT: Since they're so attracted to blood, if you can injure one of the fish, the others should start attacking it. If not, proceed normally, I suppose.

    Re: PREQUEL suggestion box

Oh, good. So, not only did you not get a better spell first, not only did you not tell a guard or someone who would be likely to help you if you got into trouble, you've also removed all possible helpful objects with the exception of the hatchet, which I didn't see at first. Also, I figure you're not very likely to go back up and do any of those things.

That's Okay! We can still get through this with no loss of life or limb. Make sure that rope is snug around you and doesn't catch on your tail, which you should hold up and out of the way so that it doesn't become bait for the slaughterfish. Make sure that you have room to swing your hatchet in the well; if you don't, for crying out loud, come back up. Finally, assuming that this all works out, watch the fish to determine a pattern for their movements, and time your swings accordingly. If they don't have any trouble chewing through metal buckets, I bet they won't have any trouble chewing through metal hatchet blades if you don't wound them.

Well, it's not really applicable right now, so

It's going to be rather hard to time it so she uses a fireball when the fish is in midair.
And doing fire spells in a confined space is a bad idea, as someone else mentioned...

    This will totally end... well.

Suicide is illegal? What are they going to do, throw your corpse in jail for 5 years -- 2 if you've been on good behavior?

    Re: PREQUEL suggestion box

Katia -> So I've been thinking. Your magic is based on your emotions, right? And cat burns make you cast fire. Cat burns make you angry, fierce. That's probably what's causing the fire. Anger, instead of the cat burns themselves specifically. So maybe other emotions make you cast other spells. Like ice. You could cast an ice spell, and either cover the bottom of the well so you have a firm place to stand on while you plan your next move, or just spear the ice with an icicle. Now, I'd assume, since ice is the opposite of fire, that the emotions that are opposite of anger would allow you to cast ice. And maybe... just maybe, don't quote me on this... that emotion is fear. Are you afraid, Katia? You should be. You're going down into a dank, deep hole in the ground with some water and deadly creatures. If you weren't afraid, I'd be concerned about your sanity.
Alternatively, you can use a shock spell. Maybe happiness, excitement causes that. After all, if I may pun, when you're excited your tail moves at what could be considered "lightning fast." So try thinking about what makes you happy. How you get to go to the mage's guild. How great it is to have a friend like Quill-Weave. Then you could possibly electrocute the water, killing the fish. Just as long as you keep your tail out of the water, that is. Wouldn't want to hurt yourself.

((I'm probably overthinking this, but hey, might as well try.))

But then you have to find another expletive to use as an intensifier to replace it.

Hmm, you're gung-ho about that slaughterfish scheme, aren't you? Well, how about "Bloody" then? Katia Bloody Managan.
