Got some Elder Sign in this weekend (Arkham Horror meets Yahtzee). The girlfriend and I beat down Yig, Hastur, and Shub Niggurath in short order. Anyone else find Elder Sign a bit on the easy side?
I'm seeing a lot of Arkham Horror fans here.
Love it, and we've recently started with Mansions of Madness, which I have to say is phenomenal.
Sigquotes, my Soundcloud, and folders for Kanaya, the Derse Siblings, and General-JWJ's SBaHJ-style comics below!
This is what's up with the colorful candycorns. Don't see one suited for you? ADD IT.
I don't have any friends, so it's mostly just stiff drinks and depressing, tear-laden games of solitaire Death Angel.
Just kidding (sort of). But seriously, Death Angel, the card game, that is, is probably the number one game I'm playing right now. Eventually I'll pick up a Catan game, but I might start with the card version.
Catan all the way, man. Kind of like Risk in a few aspects, but way more fun.
Oh, so is Catan pretty good? I'm interested, but I don't know if I should shell out the fifty for a game I'd never play.

Both Settlers and Carcassone have redeeming qualities. I think I'm more of a fan of Settlers because it seems more intense. Carcassone so far has been relatively laid back in comparison. Just my opinion but I think I prefer Settlers even though it is crazy expensive and so luck based. With all of the expansions it's so great.
Gigantic World of Darkness ho over here, I dream in NWoD, edit trope pages, read anything I can get and RP in 2 6 hour a week groups every single week![]()
I love war strategy board games, so usually I play Stratego or risk with my girlfriend.
MONOPOLY AND RISK LOLOL
(just kidding, two worst board games ever created)
I had some good games of Smallworld and Shadows over Camelot (we lost) at a friend's house.
Yessss. This is the correct game to be playing. Since getting it, I've wound up playing almost nothing but Innovation for nearly a year. No one I play with is getting sick of it, and neither am I.
I would normally say C&K, but if you're frequently playing with 5-6 players that might change. C&K changes the gameplay significantly more, the biggest difference in Seafarers is the size of the board which often helps avoid those situations where one player gets fenced in from expanding their settlements for the entire game.
You can try it out online to get a feel for the gameplay, though I think the free demo is missing the expansions. It's a solid game overall but as mentioned before, the luck aspect can make individual plays sort of hit or miss, which sucks for a game that takes as long as Catan sometimes can.
Parsely! Also Fluxx.
Parsely is really a hoot, though. It's difficult getting that Infocom-era deadpan snarker vibe right as the parser but it's awesome when you pull it off. I made a couple of games for it but lost them in a disk crash, unfortunately.
Oops.

The Game of Life, Guess Who?, Candyland.
desu dahooble
Sounds awesome. Can we see some pics of your end product?
The level 10 techs are freakin' BRUTAL. Have you checked out the expansion yet?
Traders and Barbarians adds some fun changes that you can pick and choose from. It's basically "Variety: The Expansion".
Damn. You really got my hopes up when I heard you made a Parsely game. I've made half hearted attempts in the past but haven't been sucessful/imaginative. I've only ever played Blackboard Jungle so give me a review of the other games and convince me to buy them!
Credit to Shortpacked! for my Avatar, which is Clock King, which I colored green to make into a felt member because clock motif, but then ashdenej realized I did a weak job and gave me a better version without my even having to ask.
Your chumhandle is thricelyContemplated, and you speak with threee repetitions as oppposed to the usual two.
Update:
Playin' much more than just DA lately. I picked up Struggle for Catan, which is the card game, and I'm really liking it. Once I come back from holiday I might pick up Settlers, though some of the CoC games and Skyrim (not to mention Munchkin) are on my list. I've played a few games of Stratego, and, surprisingly, Lost: The Game quite a bit recently. It's a decent game, though you could probably do better.
Also, Krinklechip? I finally set up RDA and I'm prepping for my first game.
I've played two games with my cousin. She beat me the first time, but I won the second. We both like it, and I think it's a pretty good game, but there are a few wonky bits in the manual I'll put down later. Best of luck!
