Board games! Whachoo been playin'?

Io! There doesn't appear to be a board game thread, so I'll get one going. (If there already is and I didn't see it, my apologies.)

So what's been hitting your table? I recently got Innovation for my girlfriend and we've been loving it. It's feels like Race for the Galaxy with crazier abilities.

We've also been enjoying Flash Point: Fire Rescue; a cooperative game akin to Pandemic where your team is trying to save victims from a burning building. Quite awesome.

You power citys in the US or Germany, goal is to get 17 powered first. Very fun. Fairly long (not really by board game standards I suppose)

Well. I mostly play on Isotropic (insane rad online dominion site try it try it try it) but I own and play regularly with Dominion: Intrigue.

@Namboto: Salt Lake and Provo have a MASSIVE game scene. At least 20 hobby gaming stores dot the landscape. You'll get lots of Settlers (and other games) into your play queue.

Arkham Horror is the best. We were facing Hastur once, and the second mythos card was the rumor that raises the Terror level. It was like. WELL SHIT.

I just played Settlers of Catan this past weekend and I had a lot of fun, I think it's even better than risk because there's more strategy. Boggle is a very fun game my friends and I play all the time because we are such nerds.

Well, we are systematically going through the Elder Gods like a hitlist. 2-3 players is usually when we do best, but our last game... My brother wouldn't let me save my sister, Isabelle. He also told me to go close gates instead of getting weapons.

yeah most board games are bad because their mass produced unlike hand made games like danger dungeon or that shitty dungeon based rpg where i made up the rules and all the enmeys were clones of the other players

So, has anyone played this boardgame called Atmosfear? It comes with like a VHS tape with some Cloaked guy who keeps inturrupting the game and making crazy stuff happen, and he has the most hillariously cheesy actor ever.

Just played an updated version of Clue with the family, lotsa laughs (evidently I killed everybody, and my brother twice).

Also just picked up Diplomacy, but haven't had a chance to play it yet.

wait so the new clue works by killing people before they can find out theres a 1 in 8 chance your the murder

It worked on a card drawing system There are eight "clock" cards dispersed in a deck of generic helpful cards. Once drawn, the clock cards are put to the side. The player that draws the eighth clock card is murdered, and shuffles the card back into the deck. This leads to some interesting cases were the murderer actually murders himself, and then continues to murder other players for the rest of the game. Vengful poltergeist, I guess?
