Binondo is... I think something like Chinatown in Manila.

Both of these are correct, according to Wikipedeia and (more reliably) Bowman as of the Ithaca livestream

He's been doing this for every track on the album. Even if you don't have a tumblr, checking back now and then to http://iambowman.tumblr.com is very worthwhile. But getting a tumblr is well worth it just to follow Bowman, Tavia, and the other music team members who have them, as you can get previews to songs, unreleased snippets (GFD just posted some brilliant stuff, and Eidolon's been putting up stuff steadily as well) not to mention the fact that all of them are generally interesting, insightful, and funny people. Also Tavia has been livestreaming design work for Ithaca stage performances and videos, and she anounces them on her tumblr.

While we're on the subject of Kalesa in Binondo, I have to say that one of my very favourite single moments on this record is when Nick Smally says "That will be 52 dollars, please" It cracks me up every time.

Since I didn't get to go to Austin... I still haven't listened to Ithaca! But I've heard the first 3 or so songs, and so far it's BETTER than MT&HK! And I'm still tempted to give $3, but honestly, I'm too poor right now. And I'm sure it'll reach the goal pretty soon, anyway. Kickstarters USUALLY work like that. If not, I guess I can try and spread the word!
