    Actually... we are missing a lot of art assets and whole sections. I don't think anyone has compiled everything we have all together yet.

    Afrowolf is currently working on creating a compilation of the whole first section, up to Karkat's part, which is all completed. Are you volunteering flash skills, or just interested in our progress? (It's fine if you're just interested - we just always leap at the prospect of new animators.)

    On a different note, I PMed both Psych and Multiversal and haven't heard anything from either of them. In particular I really want to hear from Multiversal, who was theoretically taking over the Terezi section and was going to give us an updated flash so that we would know which of the art assets we needed. Anyone else had any luck?

    Also, CP - is there any more tweaking you want to do on the Kanaya section, or are we going to consider it done?

    Hey guys. Thing look like they're coming along great!

    If the Nepequius part is being put together, I wanted to put in my recent contributions:


    This is the last background that I made, for the part when Nepeta flies through the air (it's made to pan)



    Also, I noticed in the animatic that there was a shot of Nepeta crouching that I don't think has been colored, so I did that, because I think that's the last asset from that section missing:



    I hopr these are okay and not too much of a hassle to be added in to the next Nep/Eq draft...

    Completing art assets is never a hassle!! Good catch We do, I think, have one more missing asset - the hero mode Nepeta leaping across. Did anyone do that? I don't think so...

    @Artemis: Thanks, I'll add those.

    @MT: Well I did mention it was pretty much finished and that I just needed some feedback. Since there is none, I can declare it finished when pM finishes and sends me the extra frames for the beginning part.
    As for that leaping Nepeta, I think I'm going to leave it out and just the use red slashes on black thing...
    I've seen Psych around on steam, he said he'd have time soon and hop back into the thread then. As for Multi... She appears in the chat pretty much every day but never says anything or responds to anything said to her, so I'm not sure what's going on there...

    But yeah, has their been any recent work on the Desperation Cinematic? I'm timing Vriska's SB and I was wondering of I could branch it to the end of the Desperation

    Psych - Yikes, that makes me wonder if my other PMs maybe didn't go through....? I need to double-check that ASAP. Congratulations on graduating!! We are delighted to have you back. We have been slowly filling in Desperation art assets, but we don't actually have any updated animatic of it. Go ahead and branch the storyboard to the end of Desperation if you think it will make things easier - the art assets so far can all be found on the wiki here: http://rexduodecimangelus.wikispaces.com/Desperation

    How is the Vriska storyboard timing going?

    I am in contact with Elicadragon about the Nepeta outlines and will keep you guys posted.

    CP - Great, that's what I thought. Can't wait to see it with the final few frames included. (Have I mentioned recently what a powerhouse you are with this project?! Seriously!!!)

    I am going to go resend all the PMs just in case Psych's wasn't the only one that didn't go through, and continue trying to contact Multi.

    Also, right now we haven't really been doing anything on the First Interlude. We did decide officially to rework it to make it more black-king centric, but then we sort of let it peter out and focused on other things. So first -

    1. Did anyone have any comments about the first interlude that they think need to be heard? If so, please repost them - I am going to start compiling them into the first interlude page on the wiki.
    2. We need to brainstorm some ways to keep some of the art assets we currently have but to make the first interlude have more focus on making the black king seem like a threat. Concerted ideas and rough storyboards are welcome! I know we have some awesome idea people here, so I am sure once we start keeping detailed records (my fault sorry guys - I won't make the same mistake twice) it will start coming together effectively!


    ALSO, I have a question for participants - up until now, we have been working on a very rough, loose schedule. I was wondering if people thought it might be helpful if we started to set reasonable deadlines for things. For example, when assigning art for a section, we might say "all the art assets should be in within two weeks of today, and then the goal is to have the section finished in flash in a month." We could also go on a case-by-case basis. On one hand, it might help keep us focused and help us get this project finished far more quickly. On another hand, it might discourage people from signing up to do things, and increase the overall stress of the project. Please please answer honestly about this! If you think it will help, say so; if you think it would do more harm than good, please be frank. We don't want to change our current system unless people sincerely want to.

    I would like to help in some way, but I can't animate, and i can't color for my life. I can, however, draw adequately well on like a piece of printer paper with a pencil. (And by adequately I mean OK...ish.) Anything glaringly obvious that you don't have? (For characters, I just tried drawing Terezi's forest and it came out terribly.

    Drawing is useful, although for our purposes we generally really need digitally colored art. Do you have an ability to scan lineart? There might be a chance that we would be able to use that if someone else colored over it. It isn't 100% ideal.

    HOWEVER! If you are interested in coming up with rough brainstorms for the first interlude, I don't see what would prevent you from assisting with that

    Regarding the time period: it really is impossible to say when we will be done with this. Because we all work at different paces and real life often intrudes, the work, while continual, has bursts of productivity and significant lags. I will tentatively say that if everything goes smoothly with Afrowolf's compilation, we should have a new preview of the song up to Terezi's part relatively soon.

    Regarding Multiversal - Multi appears to be posting regularly on the forums, but not in this thread. I resent the PMs so lets give it a week, and after that if we still haven't heard anything, we should perhaps reassign Terezi's section to someone else.

    I believe I have several different pretty rough text storyboards for the first interlude from way back when, actually! I have no idea where they are except on either the first thread or the wiki, though :/

    Deadlines sound like a good idea to me, I think it'll really help give more aim to this if people know when to get things done by I also think meeting up maybe once every two weeks on irc or someplace would be a good idea, just have a bit of a meeting and see what everyone's up to? Sorry if this was already suggested..I know it could be hard to get everyone to agree when to do that though xD

    I've received the files. I'll try to put something together on thursday, since, I have to study for an exam tomorrow >_>
    After that, I should be able to get back to actually doing things...

    Edit: About the deadlines... I'm a bit ambivalent towards that idea since so far I have pretty bad experiences in actually getting things done on time (schoolwork stuff, I'm a horrible procrastinator) but on the other hand, I think it would in this case be helpfull to set some limits so we're not stuck waiting months on something that could easily be done in a week or so...

    Re: the first interlude - we are going to refocus it to be more about the black king and less about the trolls, so that is why we still need to brainstorm it.

    Okay, so it sounds like people are tentatively in favor of deadlines. However, we obviously can't implement section deadlines without consulting people, so this will have to be something we try out as we assign new art and sections. Also, I like the IRC idea in theory, but feel like it would be hard to coordinate time zones, jobs, etc. Other thoughts?

    Still no word from Multi

    This might just be my perfectionist side talking, but I'm starting to dislike the current Sb I'm working on. While I had the music in consideration this time, I don't think it would add to Vriska's character getting beat up a bit. She's supposed to be showing up all arrogant and confident she has this with her vast amount of luck. Idk, maybe some opinion can roll in after we see part of the new SB. The plus side to this one is that it is still in its early stages so cutting it won't be an issue for me.

    I'll upload it if not... either way I think I'll work on an improved SB and present it to all and see if people like it.

    EDIT: I don't like the cutting into the desperation part. I believe it would be best to keep it tied only on Vriska's part of the song.

    Yes, I definitely agree with that!! Sorry for being unclear, I thought earlier that you were volunteering to animate some of the Desperation sequence as well. Nevermind, just stick with Vriska's portion of the music. Looking forward to seeing the new storyboard.

    Also, I am officially going to say that, having heard nothing from Multi, we need to reassign the Terezi section to someone else. The current flash file is on the wiki. We need someone to go through it, make a viewable demo, and tell us what art assets we still need so that we can fill in any art needs.

    ALSO, Afrowolf, how is that flash compilation coming? If we could see it in the next two weeks, that would be awesome

    I think Multi was also working on the Feferi/Eridan part...

    Since I'm here, might as well mention that I'm almost finished with making adjustments to the Equius/Nepeta part. It should be done soonish...
