Act 5 is clearly going to be released in "Scenes". Clearly.

If the books continue to come out with around the same amount of pages Volume 1 had then it will most likely go like this:

Act 1: 1 Volume
Act 2: 2 Volumes
Act 3: 2 Volumes
Intermission: 1 Volume
Act 4: 3 Volumes
Act 5/1: 3 Volumes
Act 5/2: 9 Volumes
Act 6: ???

So 21 volumes just for what's been written so far O_O

Hrm. On the one hand, I'm not at all sure how well the pages-long pesterchum dialogs will play out in physical text format, let alone the flash pages. Music, animation, and interactivity have been a huge part of those flashes, and the flashes have been a huge part of homestuck. I've often said of homestuck that one of the amazing things about it is how it takes advantage of the webcomic format, doing things that simply couldn't be done in prior formats. It is a being unique to the internet, and translation to some other format will innevitably diminish it artistically, though I'm not sure to what degree.

On the other hand, there are definitely people I can introduce to homestuck in physical book form who I haven't been able get into it in its original format. Stick it on the cofee table and friends who come over for anime night will read it when the given show that's on isn't their thing. Put it on the magazine rack in the restroom and my room mate will read it while engaging in his legendary infinite bowel movements. etc. And that might make it worthwhile. Plus, it would be nice to just have a physical incarnation of the actual comic around. IMO it's better merch then a t-shirt or hoodie.

Hrm. I think I'm talking myself into getting one. Shame I'm so goddamn poor it will probably have to wait until after the holidays.

After Problem Sleuth's notes, I'm more excited for Homestuck's notes than anything! They really do make the experience so much more fun. Especially with Hussie's emoticons in the Problem Sleuth book... i wonder if he'll do anything like that in this one.

Too bad I had it shipped to my parent's house since I'm moving out of my dorm in 2 weeks 8I now i have to wait a few weeks to even read it...

I think the book will be pretty cool, mostly because I liked Hussie's commentary as well. I really like seeing the cover of it too - now I can't wait to see the other covers when other books are eventually released.

Not sure when I'll be buying this but I plan to eventually.
