It has been for a while. It was just hush hush because I think there was a worry about a buying stampede.

They're already out of doodled, signed copies!
Uah, I can't wait for mine.
It has been pretty much shooshed because everyone wants Hussie's signature to themselves. ;3
I think everyone who managed to get an autographed and doodled copy should take a picture of what their doodle is xD
So its just a facelift then? Kinda disappointing. Thats gonna require a lot of books to. Like, it'll probably cost well over $100 just to get them all. I think Ill just skip over these. Maybe I'll buy the Midnight Crew Book or whatever when it comes out in the far flung future.
Oh man, the first book is just Act 1. Almost an entire book of just John dicking around in his house. The entirety of Homestuck is gonna be reaaally long.
More like $600. AH's said before that it might take 30 books, and with each of them at $20... yikes. Of course, that's without discounts for bundles, so it'd be a bit cheaper for those who wait to buy multiple volumes at once.
I'll have to consider that when more appear, but for the first volume, I had to get it quickly!

That's okay though. I mean, I currently own the entirety of the Animorphs Collection, including the extended series companion books, which totals 64 books. It's not unheard of for a monster of a series to grow to a size like that.
Yes, I'm serious. Quit looking at me like that.
I have not thought of Animorphs in years and years and years. I should see how many I still have hanging around.

Good point!
I suppose people that buy a lot of manga get used to 30+ volume series. Does anyone even own all of One Piece? Is that... even possible?
Looking at my 25-book collection of Gakuen Alice, it's expensive as a group (nowhere near $30 per book, though), but I've been collecting it since 2007 so it's been very spread out!
Also, I'm getting it as a Christmas present too, but I have the double-patience-whammy of getting a signed copy and living in the UK. Probably be February by the time it all arrives.
I'm interested in knowing what the commentary is like -- anyone with a PS book want to exposit a bit?

One day in the far future I will be buying a COMPLETE HOMESTUCK BOOK SET if such a thing comes to exist which you just know it will. This is the kind of person I am.
Imagine how well known Homestuck could be by then.
I'll just wait for the Audiobook as read by Tim Curry.

There's no need to spend money on this. It's free on the internet.
I am eagerly awaiting the postal service to deliver me the reading material I ordered.
And then I will wrap it up all nice and pretty and place it under the Christmas tree festive holiday pine as a gift to myself.

Serious question here.
I'm worried about this description: "Homestuck Book 1 contains the complete first act, with author notes on each page". What is the meaning of the words "author notes" in this context?
I fully understand the interest of including some bonus content, but I'm only interested, personally, in buying Homestuck on paper, not in buying Homestuck on paper with some useful insight like "I decided to foreshadow the trolls very quickly in the Pesterchum list, you can see that Karkat is already online on the screen" or "While I was drawing this panel, I was very hungry and eating a sandwich, but I just couldn't stop drawing, so John's arm is a little off in this picture".
I always loved to learn everything about Homestuck, and I regularly re-reads all of Andrew's past Formspring answers, for example. I am even okay with learning John's arm was a little off because Hussie absolutely wanted to eat a sandwich while drawing.
But I don't want to see it written on every page. It would seriously spoil the reading pleasure for me, and would also totally destroy the immersion feeling.
Plus I would like to let friends borrow the book, I don't want them to discover Homestuck with sandwich comments all around the place. I don't want them to know this great story as "the books about sandwich and Karkat being online in the messenger list".
So what is precisely this "author note" thing? I suppose it is the same thing than in the Problem Sleuth books. How is it integrated to the tome, exactly?
