    Re: Tea Appreciation Thread

My tea choices are usually either Green Tea because it is healthy and Earl Grey because it is so nice.
No milk in it ever though, because milk in stuff is gross.
Maybe just a scoop of sugar, but preferably black really. (or green in green tea's case)

This thread makes me want to cry. I'm sick, and have no early grey to comfort me.

    Re: Tea Appreciation Thread

I had green tea infused with an array of fresh fruit in Changsha (China) a few weeks ago.

It was by far the best fucking tea ever. I am usually not a big tea drinker (usually Chamomile or other herbal teas) but that stuff was the best. Period.

No sugar. No milk. Just fruit & fruit juice.

Does tea that is picked by monkeys really taste better?
If so, I'm kind of concerned as to why...

Sounds awesome. I'm not a fan of Chamomile though. Bluh. Had it once, wasn't good.

An acquired taste. Best before bed as a preventative measure against accidental all-nighters.

    Re: Tea Appreciation Thread

I went to a nice resteraunt recently and As longtime customers, we were offered the last of a tea the resteraunt was considering. It was delicious! The tea had a dark red color, but had a natural sweetness. It also tasted strongly of berries and was really relaxing.

Any body else like relaxing teas? I'm okay with them, but I much rather a tea that doesn't put me to sleep.

I love relaxing teas. Two things that could put me to sleep quickly are hot showers, and hot, relaxing teas.

I start most days with an Irish mint green tea with a teaspoon of honey.

    Shit's relaxing, yo.

I wish I didn't have so little time to get ready for class, otherwise I'd ahve totally made a hot cup this morning.

I had Blackcurrant/Blackcurrent/Blackcurrunt tea yesterday. I really really want to like it because it is a way better colour than normal tea, but the after taste is a bit strong.

If I keep drinking it maybe I can force myself to like it?

My usual rule of thumb is to get through one box before deciding whether to ever get another of that type again. Waste not, want not.

Do you think a rosemary tea would be a good idea?

    Re: Tea Appreciation Thread

If it's a limited-edition tea that I try and love, I buy multiple boxes after I have a few bags. But otherwise, why stock up on extra boxes of something you can get anytime?

Gah, I really wish I had bought more of that vanilla rose black tea.

@Paladin: I hate rosemary, lol, so I think it sounds kind of gross.

Just tried a cup of Earl Grey with some rosemary leaves thrown in, turns out it was a great idea. It had a rich, spicy taste that was very calming.

@AC: How do you hate rosemary? It's one of the best spices ever!

It tastes like I'm eating a Christmas Tree. DO NOT WANT.

For a good, easy herbal tea, I sometimes just boil up some anise seeds. Now THAT'S good. :3

Well, some of us don’t live within walking distance of a place to get tea and gasoline costs us money.

Economy vs freshness... a delicate balance.

Oo! That reminds me: star anise is one of the most prominent-tasting ingredients in tea eggs.

hey, at least it's not tea POOPED by monkeys. See this- Kopi Luwak. Supposedly a delicacy though; I suppose it's worth trying once if I ever have the money.

Chinese teas are the best! :0 I have a shitton of high mountain oolong and some cheap green tea leaves, but both are great, and I haven't gotten tired of either (I've had the oolong for at least a year now, so glad I got so much of it). Other teas I like are chrysanthemum, pu-erh, longjing, jasmine- though the flower ones are technically infusions. Don't need to add sugar or milk or any of that stuff people do to western teas.

Teavana- I stop by there to mooch free samples every time I hit the mall. But their tea always tastes too sweet to be real tea- feels more like juice. Not too bad. But I never pay for it, ahaha. When I get myself a blender, I'll run my own sugar-tea-monstrosity experiments. >_>

I recently got a tea strainer, I think it's made by Ito En (Japanese company). It is wonderful, and makes my tea drinking experience a lot cleaner. The first day I got it, I chugged like 3 cups of oolong in one go. It was amazing.

So, I don't know if this counts, but how many people here have had Bubble Tea? I've managed to go and get myself hooked on it again.

    I blame college.
