I would say pale blonde or yellow blonde. This is really the one I'm worried about since my boyfriend has a manly melon and I think most wigs are made for smaller shaped heads.
Well I can't speak from experience, but I've heard Arda wigs are good for people with bigger noggins. This one looks like it could work for a Dave, but the appropriate colors are out of stock so it wouldn't be useful if this is short notice. Homestuck Cosplay Help recommends this one but I don't know if it will fit your size needs.

I'll have to measure his head but the Arda wig looks like a great option and the Platinum Blonde says its scheduled to restock in early May. We won't need them until later in July but yanno, I'd like to have them a bit early so we can get critiques on the cosplays as we go :3 Since this is both our first times cosplaying I want to make sure we do it up right!

These are both helpful thank you! What do you guys suggest for Jade's glasses? Also I wear prescription glasses and don't have contacts, what do you other visually impaired people do for your cosplays?

Depends on what character I'm cosplaying, personally. If it's someone with glasses, I use mine; they're pretty neutral-shaped. If the character doesn't have glasses, well, I take them off for photos, but keep them when I'm out of it. I can't see a thing without them, and can't wear contacts for the moment.

What do people do for stuff they have to carry? Like, at cons I like to carry a bunch of stuff (wallet, notebook, pencils, water bottles, etc) but I don't want to detract from my outfit. Should I sew up a matching tote bag from my leftover fabric? I'd usually just carry a backpack and take it off for pictures but backpack+cape is not a good combo in my experience 0_0

I personally carry a baby bag everywhere (it makes a great laptop bag), it has places for photos but instead I draw things and stick them in there. There are a few tutorials I've seen for how to make messenger bags and depending on who you're cosplaying you could try one of those stuffed animal backpacks.

Here are some bags I thought would be easy to manage and look really cute. You could style the fabric to fit a character you cosplay a lot or go the old fashioned sharpie doodle route :3

Also does anyone have any experience with Zenni Optical? I think you can order prescription glasses from there and they have some perfect Jade glasses. Definitely something to look into.

I'm doing godtier Dave, and I was thinking of making a themed scalemate to match my outfit but yeah I'm probably not going to do a backpack. Those messenger bag patterns are awesome though! Thanks so much! I could stick the gear symbol on the flap to match my tunic and make the bag itself out of cape material.

As for the glasses thing I've never ordered any online, so I can't help you there my vision is decent without my glasses so I just keep them off and carry them around with me (in case I need to read something).

The strip of painted skin against the ridge of the glove's hem would look kind of strange, unless you're able to get a Terezi shirt with slightly longer sleeves (not a ladies cap sleeve shirt). If you have a loose shirt, wear another shirt underneath and pin the tops of the gloves to that so there's no show-through on your top shirt. If you need to, take out the hem on the gloves to make them longer. Elastic also sounds like it could work.

For Eclectica, try a blue satin that's not too shiny (so it won't throw back a glare in flash pictures).

You've got the big holes down, but you need a lot of smaller holes to go along with them! Look up pictures of weathered clothing (I tried "shirt with holes" on Google Images) and check out how the holes are patterned. When items undergo wear and tear, large holes always start from small holes! Concentrate more small holes along the hemline, too, and see if you can fray the edges.

I'm looking at foam for my Timetables and there are so many kinds! Has anyone here made props out of foamboard? If so, can you link me to an example of what you got? Everything says it should only cost a few dollars but the sheets I'm finding are like 20$ apiece. They're pretty big, so that's fine, but I mean if I can find it cheaper that'd be great.

I haven't actually tried the white tub paint, but I remember seeing somebody on these forums saying that if you mix half of a one-ounce container of White with like 1/10th of a container of Steel Grey you get a color more or less identical to Hanyaan's one-white-plus-one-grey formula. Could be handy if you need a LOT of grey and are willing to experiment with different amounts of Steel. (I did a search but I can't find that post, sorry! Also I think this stuff is actually the white they were talking about, it seems brighter and more similar to the creme liners than the other one.)

    I guess I have a tumblr now?

    So... I'm back.
I don't think I'll be able to do God-Tier Aradia by the time the convention comes around so I'll just be dead or Alive!Aradia.
Any suggestions on her horns? The pre-made ones from party city are all sold out and won't be re-stocking until August. :T
    Oh well.

And does anyone have suggestions for a Kanaya and Roxy wig? I've been wanting to cosplay them as well. I'm going to all 4 days in Supercon so I want to be different characters. c:

Do you think this could work for Kanaya if I just styled it?:

I think a good dark blue wash in bootcut would be fine. Her hero mode looks p standard.

    SO I BROUGHT BACK ROXY.

My cosplay is nearing completion. As hilarious as this shirt is I think I'm gonna replace it with a pink cap-sleeve one and a white or pink skirt as well, and maybe use her canon scarf. This is my... fourth attempt? And it's getting better every time haha.

So, I'm working a Karkat and a Sufferer cosplay
    My horns are done

(They are kinda big thought, so maybe when I also have a better way to wear them I'll sand them to make them shorter)

Now, my only problem on the moment really is...
How am I gonna do the sufferers cloack?
    Anyone got any useful ideas?

@mempol: I think the size of the horns shouldn't be an issue if you use a wig, since Karkat's hair is pretty sticky-uppy, so it'll make them look smaller. I had similar concerns with my Terezi horns, but if you're using a wig, I think that if your troll has smaller horns, you should make them slightly bigger than you'd expect just to make sure they show up through the wig.

I don't think they look too big for a Sufferer cosplay, and like AC said, they shoulf be fine with a wig. As for a cloak, I haven't seen any Sufferer specific tutorials but earlier I came across this great one for a knight coif/cape. You could probably modify the pattern as you go to make it fit the way you want.

Alright, so i'm as new as you can get when it comes to cosplay. In Wisconsin there is only a few cons, and I was wondering if Daisho Con has any meaning for HomeStuck, or am I just being stupid?
