    dragonesqueRage, I've been cosplaying Terezi for about 6 months now and I have not once done the eyes, and no one seems to notice, haha. If you want to do something snazzy, put on eyeshadow over your whole eyelid and shape it like your eye, redraw your eyelashes and close your eyes for pictures! It looks surprisingly well. I'm going to try it out when I stop being so horrid with makeup, haha.

    Does anyone here use a wig cap with a wig, or do you all just pin your hair up and toss a wig on? Because I have an armpit-length jewfro and think that unless I wore a cap, my hair would end up sticking out from under a Terezi wig.

    Also, after I warm up with a few of the regular scalemate plushies, I'll probably try and figure out how to turn one into a purse/backpack of sorts. I'm thinking I can add a zipper in the back, seal up the legs and head and only fill those with the poly fill, and tie a rope around the neck for a handle. I might also make the belly into a zippered pocket, but I don't know if my sewing skills will be up to par, lol. I'll post my progress as I go.

    Wig caps are god's gift to cosplayers (that and hot glue!) what I do is I have 2, and one has a hole on the other end so it acts as a giant headband, then take the actual cap and pull it over. The first piece helps keep the hair undercontrol for the wig cap. I wish I had a visual to give to you so it made more sense xD

    AnatidaeCollector- Oh Jezuz. Always wear a wig cap. Everyone should. Tie your hair up, and bobby that cap on. Then bobby the wig on.

    And the purse idea sounds sooo cool I might steal that idea if I ever get around to making a few smuppets. (And put the zipper between the buttcheeks, mmmyes. No, that would be illogical)

    When I tried to use a wig cap, it was too tight and gave me a ridiculous headache after a few hours. Any suggestions for dealing with that?

    If you mean it was too tight around the edge, you can always make a couple snips on the thick part until it feels better, that's what I've done with nylons/tights that fit too tight around my waist but the rest stretches easier. If the whole thing was too big, I dunno but maybe you just have a larger head! You could possibly try making your own out of old nylons or something, but I dont know how well that would work.

    Also I made my best friend a Christmas present, finishing it on...well, Christmas Day XD I made her a plush Tinkerbull! Sadly I don't have any pictures to show and he's in her hands now, but when she comes back from her trip I'll be sure to ask for some pictures. Just thought you guys might be interested! I also have made a very sloppy super amateur pattern but if anyone wants to see maybe I'll make a vague walkthrough of some sort.

    Hi guys! I'm working on a god tier Dave, and it's frustrating because now that we've seen Dave's god tier sprite, it's apparent that his pants actually have a stripe going down the side -- they look like track pants, really. Or pajamas. I've been trying to hunt around for a suitable pair of pants, but the closest thing I can find is this. Do you think this is a close enough match, or should I keep searching? :/

    I'd say those look practically perfect. If you already have some plain version of the pants sans stripes, and didn't want to get another pair (or don't want to spend like...40 bucks, and found some plain) you can probably get away with some tape down the side or even better, use one of the methods used to make Eridan's pants. For example, here.

    Curious question after talking to a friend re: securing troll horns...

    What would any of you do for Jade's ears in do-er, god-tier mode? Necomimi ears tend to be too small.

    I'd get some scrap fabric from my nearest craft store--for me the wonderful JoAnns--that's furry. Preferrably more so on one side than the other. Then I'd curve it into ear shape, with the extra furry side on the inside, and put in some stitches to keep it in shape. If the fabric didn't want to stand up, I'd probably double layer it and put a little bit of wire in there to keep the shape. I'd also have a double layer/flap on the bottom of the ears so I can punch a screw hole on the bottom of the ear so (without showing the screw) I can attach the ears to the same headband shebang I use for my troll horns. Then I'd screw the ears into the headband through the wig the same way I do horns.

    I wish I'd seen your post earlier. I just got back from JoAnns, and there was fabric exactly like that in the the scraps bin. White, even. Unfortunately, I just spent a large sum of money on plushie making supplies and don't have any more. I would have bought it and shown you what I was talking about.
    Also I'd have dog ears for my Jade cosplay. ;-;

    yeah that's fine! :3

    I made a ton of progress on GB Gamzee and Karkat last night. I finished crabdad this morning, here he is, chilling on the couch:

    I also ordered my wigs for GB Eridan, Gamzee, and Karkat, aswell as bodypaint supplies. I decided to go with Ben Nye Magicolour (is that it?) the liquid... I can't wait for it all to get there!
    Now time to work on designing/planning/etc for GB Sollux and the GB godtiers and Dave for my homestuck group and... stuff. asdfjk:;lkghf

    They kind of look like tuxedo pants. The ones with the shiny stripe down the side.
    But those pant look really good, or, like Auratus said, if you don't want to spend that much on pants (track pants, no less) Get some plain in that color, and paint on the stripe.
    You can use freezer paper (Wax on one side, paper on the other), iron it on so only a stripe or the pants is showing, and paint the stripe on.

    Woohoo, I've just returned from testing out the face pant/liquid eyeliner idea! I used the white ben nye facepaint I got for my Nepeta cosplay and some kind of shitty liquid eyeliner I never use!
    It looked pretty sweet, if I say so myself; wish I'd gotten pictures!! If I test it again (Which will probably happen) I'll try and get pictures then!!

    I actually craft my own and take commissions, but I find the easiest way is an outer layer of fake fur and the inside be felt with some wire for shape. You then re-add some fluff on the base. Makes them very lightweight and can be attached with hairpins or bobby pins.

    I have a question here involving colored contacts. I was going to get dollyeye pink contacts from honeycolor.com for a trickster Dave cosplay, but I'm not sure if they come in pairs or not. I don't know if I'm being paranoid, I just want to make sure.
    Here they are, if anyone's wondering.

    Hey everyone. I'm considering cosplaying Terezi in her FLARP outfit and I'm trying to decide on fabric.

    Now I've seen some FLARP!Terezi/Redglare cosplayers use what seems like pleather? And others I've seen do not use it. But I'm wondering what kind of fabric would be good for the red parts of her outfit.

    I already have a plan on what to do for the teal under part and the gloves. It's just the red top and skirt that I'm concerned about with fabric.

    I personally prefer the texture of pleather, though you need a leather needle and/or a crazy strong sewing machine. If pleather's not your cuppa tea, use twill, which is easy to work with like normal cotton but has a stronger constitution and drapes well. Some of the better god tier costumes floating around (heh) are made of twill.

    If you're referencing saramom's Redglare, I think she used vinyl/pleather to play up the fetish aspect of the ancestors.

    @Beatleproof
    It has a drop down prescription list for both your left and right eye so I'm sure that would mean YES they come in pairs! also I like the pink idea for trickster Dave :>

    Oh, and I have a question, more of an opinion thing but what color of contacts do you think look good for a troll cosplay? I've seen orange/yellow a lot and I guess it looks ok, but maybe something like grey or blood color might look nice alternatively? In canon trolls start off with grey eyes that fade to the blood color but it's not specified what color the young trolls eyes are...maybe like in-between, but I don't know if it's easy at all to find that color 8I Soo, what does anyone think looks best? Or should I just forget about contacts and look ~FABULOUS~ otherwise? XD

    @incisivelyIndecisive Thank you for asking that question! I've been meaning to for a while now, because my friend has been having some difficulty figuring it out as well, but somehow it just slipped my mind.
    @glub And thank you for answering :3 I may remake my hood out of twill at some point, although not any time soon; I have no idea what it's even made of right now. Some correctly colored fabric that was on sale at the right time. It's not as nice as I'd like it to be. >.>
    @KittenPajamas Welp, basically nobody cares if you don't do it, and I can't imagine anyone holding it against you. You'll probably look fabulous anyways. I know I will probably never use contacts simply because I don't like stuff in my eyes. However, if you have the money and want to, grey or whatever the color of the troll you're cosplaying would both work perfectly fine, and add a nice touch to the whole cosplay. Or if you do an ancestor troll, just their color, since their eyes are certainly no longer grey.
