okay let me come up with a new OC

Name: Hesperides
Age: Several thousand years old, but slept through most of them. Appears 28
Height: Variable
Weight: Variable

Hesperides is a Dryad. Jim's son (Henceforth known as Cid) was sent to stop her after she woke up and started attacking a large grecian city. She absolutely hated humans, but after enough character development and plot points to fill a blockbuster movie, she has since become more trusting of humans, though she is always initially untrusting. She is Cid's partner in the CIA and they are sent out to do things together. Ability-wise, Hesperides is able to lengthen and shrink any part of her body (like tree limbs), as well as grow additional limbs, and transform into any state between humanoid and tree. She can also control plants, but not increase the rate at which they grow (That'd be silly! How could they grow so fast!?). Appearancewise, she has long, slightly messy blonde hair with a slight mossy tinge, and woody brown skintone. Things like dirt and leaves tend to cling to her like magnets and have a harder than usual time coming off, so she is either dirty or late for work. She is calm and collected, but despite seeming wise, she can be irrational at times (see: untrusting of humans). She practically never panics, and talks fairly slowly.

To tell you the truth I did check how to spell pubescent. Then I had a brain-fart and wrote it the wrong way. True story.

And we could draw Jim however we want and put it up to discussion until we get the perfect looking Jim.

My friends were over. I told them to create a bare bones OC meme for character development without telling them any details about the OCs.

Wow. Cid's got quite a large amount of achievements for a 28-year-old. Lead a reality-warping project, then a shape-shifting project, then saved the world from, and befriended a Dryad. All this success (except for the Tao project, technically) makes him look kind of like a Mary-Sue.

Here are some options I'm suggesting that might remedy this:

- Change the part where he leads the Tao project. Instead, turn him into another cog in the system, still working his way up the ladder. Maybe he did something that indirectly caused the disaster.
- Cid was specifically trained to lead supernatural projects. The Tao project was the first one he lead on his own and due to his inexperience the project failed. Or maybe not. Maybe Tao is just a strong-willed individual who ruined everything. Cid got a lot of flak from the fallout, but was still allowed to lead these supernatural projects since no one else is trained for that but him. At some point he decides to leave the leading life and start as a field op with Hes.

I'll try to keep this one short because this is a thread about making OCs for deviantART memes (though I am loving the character developement), as for Hes I'd say that it was Cid's first ground mission, He somehow befriends her on the battlefield, right when she is distracted by Cids soothing voice and cologne she is captured, Cid somehow convinces the CIA to let her go and she decides to... help.... out? i dunno. maybe because Hesperides secretly Cid.

This is just too much drama for me ~_~.

I kind of imagine Lenny as both being a good and bad influence simultaneously on Tao. On one hand, he would probably teach Tao morality, but on the other hand, Tao has only been alive for a year or 2 and therefore doesn't know not to take Lenny's emo bullsh*t seriously.

Also, for Cid, on the sliding scale betwen Pure Scientist, and Pure Action Hero, where should he fit?

Maybe Cid *tries* to seem competent, but isn't fully? He could be more of a blind luck hero with some good moments of badasser-y than anything. (Also, he didn't save the world from a Dryad, she was kindof being a nightly menace.)

Also, I drew Hesperides, both when she was bad, and as a CIA agent. So you can see how the whole turn to tree powers work.
also I guess she's left handed? Or ambidextrous? Or she's just holding the gun in her off hand temporarily?
And her clothes probably morph into tree with her, just so that she isn't constantly ruining her cool suit.


I know it's not very good but it's the best I can do without a tablet. I just wanted the design down, mostly.
