Also, is 682 just a chaos god, or is he contained by the Foundation prior to escape and eventual ascension, or is it a DM by DM thing?

Are there going to be descriptions of the layers of the Warp?

    Also:

Grisamentum: A notorious London gangster at the turn of the twentieth century, he initially avoided persecution by forging a close relationship with the police, the Harker Institute and the 12th Warehouse. He or his lackeys created prodigious amounts of SCP items, and he may have been involved in the creation of items for Marshall, Carter and Dark, Ltd. He was eventually killed in a failed plot to rewrite the laws of reality in his image, which involved his transformation into an SCP object, in conjunction with several other powerful SCPs.

The Harker Institute for Supernatural Studies: A Victorian Era organization dedicated to studying, containing and using SCP and EIA objects. Notable for its relaxed attitudes towards cross-testing and the creation of new SCP objects. The Institute was generally ineffectual at combating or policing London's thriving paranormal underworld, and was usually unable to secure, recover or guard objects desired by underworld factions. The Institute went into decline after WWI, and it and the objects it contained were absorbed by the SCP Foundation shortly after the latter's founding in 1946. Most of the objects it contained are considered Safe or Euclid under Foundation classification.

edit: are pictures ever coming back, or are they just too much of a formatting hassle?
Oh yeah. CotBG does need a list entry.

682 at any time before being a Chaos God is a GM choice thing.

Layers of the Warp and the Thirteen Castes will get fleshed out too.

Pictures will come back for the release. They're just too much of a hassle to put in Google docs.

Also: I take it that the Institute was founded by Jonathan Harker after the events of Dracula?

And are there any pictures of Orgonax?

New here, so I hope this is OK to post. Apologies if not.

Looking for feedback/ideas/etc on a homebrew fantasy D20 RPG setting called Tears of Blood. It is in a mostly complete and usable state, compiled by me from a community effort elsewhere that never got completed. From the Introduction:

It was established early on that the tone would be gritty, set in a world where day to day life is a struggle. There are several themes that work together; most notably a plague that has ravaged the land creating a world in turmoil with unstable governments. There is also an atmosphere of mistrust of strangers, especially PC adventurers. The standard rules were adjusted, a pantheon of gods was developed, and new playable races were created.

The material can be found Here. Thank you.

Fun fact: The Starchild is an Anti-Spiral, who was in charge of the Reaper part of the Deathwatch. C'tan eventually executes it for gross incompetence and being an annoying little twerp.

Hot dayum. You are most certainly in the right place, my friend. Too late to check it out tonight, but I'll make sure to get to it tomorrow.

EDIT: The names makes me jump immediately to whiny emo songs and bad deviantart self-portraits, which is a pity because you and the rest obviously put a lot of work into this.

Okay, now that I've had time to look over ToB

Wow. The effort put into this is astounding. The name seems a lot more fitting and less silly now that I've had time to look at it more closely, and everything else seems to work just fine.

In BHC news, I am systematically adding quotes to entries without quotes.

Yes, it is an astounding amount of work that went into this. The original project took place on a Forum, much like this one, and several topics were started, died off, and were re-started again. It never got to the point of being collected into a usable form that made sense, although several good starts were made at that also. As you may have read, the project itself lasted about 5 years, from 2004 to 2009. I assembled my first "compilation" in December of 2009 and had a working draft after about a year of on-again/off-again work. Then I went to work on the Supplements, and had a solid collection of those in 2011. In January 2012 my local tabletop RPG group began a playtest with me as GM that is still going on. The players seem to enjoy it alot. I have tried to generate interest in it again on the site where it was created, but without much success. Thank you for taking a look at it and the feedback.

Oh, and I was wondering if you could put a link to it in your OP list here. Thanks!

Re: The RPG Homebrew Extravanganza Thread

Okay. So I saw Avengers last night. And the entire time I was thinking: this should be in the crossover. Even though I said no super heroes, I can work around this.

So basically it's going down like this:
    Loki = 076 "Able"
    Thor = 073 "Cain"
    Hulk = A prototype super-mutant
Iron Man = Prototype mech suit?
Black Widow and Hawkeyes = members of the assassin order.
Cpt. America = WWII combat homunculus
Tesseract = Lilithian Apple of Eden (It could be the eliacube, but given timing, this works for how SEELE gets their hands on the thing.)

No portal or invasion or anything along those lines, though.

Quotes are done. Fluff is done. Now it's just appendixes, rules, and pictures.

Re: The RPG Homebrew Extravanganza Thread

So hey, nobleTiger made this awesome Homestuck RPG back in January (with a little input here and there from me and Cute_Riolu) and now after months of waiting for someone to do something with it I've started organizing an actual game. It'll most likely be played over Skype, the way things are looking.

In case you missed that whole thing, the idea was to create a Homestuck RPG that didn't bother with Sprites and Alchemy and Sylladices and whatnot and instead tried to capture the storytelling style of Homestuck - a story where shit gets weird fast and nothing is ever forgotten. In other words, a game that when played could have given rise to the original Homestuck.

If you're interested, feel free to check it out.

(I'm sorry for the plug, it's just that the thread isn't getting as much activity as I'd hoped it would)

Re: The RPG Homebrew Extravanganza Thread

I don't know if you want to include an appendix or something on potential campaign ideas, but here's one anyways.

Everyone's SCP Foundation personnel during the Fall. The site has taken damage, the SCP organization has crumbled, along with any civilian military or government, and everything's breaching containment, forever. Survive and/or take out as many nasties as you can.

Also added a few more comments to the doc.

    e. are we still looking for (major-ish) things to add (someone in the doc mentioned 2001, Adventure Time or Nausicaa are possibilities for post-apocalyptic Earth), or do we have about everything we want.?

I'm putting pictures in the People and Things of Note for Era 3 as we speak.

As far as things to add, we're good on that. Only thing left are some appendixes, which we have:

    Notable Angels - barely started
The Sol System - In progress
Notable Alternate Universes - In progress
    Notable SCPs - Barely started
    List of Contractees - skeleton
List of Supernatural Institutions - in progress, nearing completion
Glossary - Could be complete as it stands
Notes and Details - in progress.

    And a few adventure seeds.

Looks like everything's starting to come together. Also, do you want any help writing up any of those appendices? I'd be willing to toss in a bit on the Notable Angels or Contractees lists.

Okay, I managed to get Notable AUs and paranormal groups done, but then I realized that I should totally organize paranormal group entries on how secret the information is. (Normal info/05 eyes only/GM eyes only) But only one entry on there needed that, so that could be set aside for now.

Okay. One final idea for timeline changes.

The Machine God consumes not only Mars, but the entire Sol System, turning into the City from BLAME!. It manages this by actually being the adult form of the Manufactured Newborn, bringing all of its true body over from its home domain. The Anti-Spirals cut a deal with it back after the war with the Valar, to heal up C'tan.

Also, added the creation of the Stone Tower by the Ikana in southern Turkey (at Gobekli Tepe, no less) in 10,000 BC, the compilation of the Book of Ishvala (400 BC) and the founding of Redwall Abbey (893)

    Huzzah!

(Horrible idea time: Matarael isn't actually a piece of shit - it just pretends to be dead, then launches a surprise attack at the worst possible time (like when Zeruel attacks))

Notes on the final doc: there's a couple truncated sentences, and it is possible to put a bookmarks sidebar for quick navigation into the doc, but these can safely be ignored until a rules system is added (if we even ever do that). A couple more adventure seeds would be nice, too.

Also, holy shit, all the pictures and quotes are perfect (especially the pokemon pic).

Do you mind if I stick this up on the OotS forums? I'd like to see what kind of response it gets there.

Coolio. Make sure you hit me with the link. Hopefully it will be better than my attempt at showing it to /tg/ (Why did I do that? Why on Earth did I do that?)

I'll have a doc version up sometime soon, to make it easier for comments and whatnot.

Reading through it now. Just a wild guess, but is

"982 – King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table set off on their quest to find the Holy Grail. They don’t, but they do start running gags that lasted throughout history."

A reference to monty python? That'd be an interesting campaign to play through if so
