You can run in the air, somehow.
Holding the run button in midair dramatically increases horizontal distance.
Unless they changed that.

The cool thing with sacrificing (with my version anyways) is that you can sacrifice anything that can be knocked unconscious. For example, I believe three Yetis gets something, four cavemen, a few jumpy worshippers, A few walking plants, etc.

If you run to a vine and grab it, and "keep running" when you're on it, you will jump much farther. Just go to the tutorial and practice on some ropes, you'll see!

There should be a vine in every other space over the spike pits, and while it usually doesn't look like it, you Should be able to jump between each one if you climb to the top and drop while going to the side, holding up.

I tend to die a lot in the Yeti levels because I get distracted sacrificing every single yeti on the level.

For those who're afraid of classes being the same, it's okay, they aren't. Class abilities are as follows.

Gunzerker - Dual wielding anything
Siren - Phase Block - not Phase Walk. From what I've gathered, it's a ranged attack that could be damage, status effects, healing, etc.
Commando - Turret - Far more customizable this time around: skill tree for short-range, another medium range, etc. Hints are that it can even be remotely deplayed, and I'd be willing to bet money that one tree allows it to walk.
Assassin - Stealth/Decoy - You go into stealth mode, leaving a decoy behind. Coming out of stealth you get a window were you can see enemy weak points and attack with your sword. The sword can be upgraded through the skill tree.

No, Maya can't Phasewalk. She "Phaseblocks" which is less of a shield and more of a giant gravity hole.

Zero gets Phasewalk now basically, with the added perk of leaving a decoy for him distract targets to stab and show off holographic emoticons at.
