Basically, it's nothing short of a fun series. It's not perfect by any stretch of the imagination, but the plotlines are unlike anything I've seen in a similar series, the artwork is absolutely gorgeous (especially later on), and the fight scenes (this being a Shonen Manga) seem to be less of a 'bigger stick contest' and more of a 'how can I circumvent my enemies' stupidly overpowered special ability with my own?

It comes in a ten-episode OVA and a manga with 700+ Chapters and eight parts (each with a different storyline and major characters) by this point.

It is awesome and you should all go take a look at it.
Honestly if you haven't seen JoJo's Bizarre Adventure you're missing out on everything beautiful in life.

    Yes, exactly.

I mean, where else could you see artwork this gorgeous!

(Actually, the art sort of sucks at the beginning, but by the time it hits part three and beyond it's just freakin' awesome.)

Re: How about that Anime and Manga

I just finished watching Blue Exorcist (Ao no Exorcist) and enjoyed it quite a bit. I'm currently a little more than halfway through Tiger and Bunny, which I also enjoy, and four episodes into Baka to Test, which is ridiculous and hilarious.

I'd also like to add in my support of Baccano!, Death Note, and Fullmetal Alchemist.

Has anyone here ever read "The Earl Cain" series consisting of The Cain Saga and its sequel Godchild? Neither are an anime, but I don't know anyone else who has ever read them and it is absolutely one of my favorite series ever.
In a similar vein, has anyone read Banana Fish? I don't know if that one is an anime or not, and I've only read about 6 volumes of it (it's really hard to find, and I don't read manga online...) but I adore it.

    Are you kidding me, William?

I'm just a bit amused to hear about that for some reason. What would Dio (or the character of Dio being played by this person) be doing on that website, I wonder...

And if he's talking about a Jojo from Italy, they're either making a huge error or thinking about the Jojo from part 5 and good lord, why am I being such a nerd about this?

I'm also a bit of a Rurouni Kenshin fan. That series had a pretty non-standard shonen protagonist and was a load of fun.

Oh, and who here has seen Paprika? Because that movie was incredibly enjoyable and incredibly trippy. The whole 'dreams melting into reality' plot was entertaining as all hell and the characters were pretty interesting.

    So...um...yeah...

Has anyone heard of/watched Cromartie High School? We are watching it in my anime club tomorrow and I am wondering what you guys think of it? (Of course, this is irrelevant if no one has seen it...)

I'm not saying Ergo Proxy is bad, far from it actually, but I've got three episodes to go and can't muster the gumption to finish it out.

Eh, the first season was fun, but the second one it truly became a trainwreck although it's ending was surprisingly good. And even the first season had it's own problems...

    And of course, fucking Spinzaku.

I heard they were pretty rushed with the second season, so it just sped through. If it had spread out maybe another season the pacing would have worked better. Would have made the ending have more impact, too.

That's just the tip of the iceberg with the second season.

Yeah, I'm watching Madoka with a friend. Halfway through, enjoying it so far. The first episode made us both go, holy shit, is that a normal family? In an anime??

Also, watched the first episode of Panty and Stocking. Holy shit, you guys. Pretty great.

Heh heh, normal family in my anime?! XD It is interesting how Madoka Magica takes on magical girls genre. I think of it like Cardcaptors mixed with Evangelion. I can't wait for the American release soon.

I am also excited for Hetalia's WS in English Dub to come out soon. Anyone who wants to have a look on it, here is the first episode of this series. Hopefull it is not regional blocked.

I hate the fact that season 3 would not revolve around the original cast but instead a new group of people.

That new Geass show is more like an spin-off a la Gundam The 08th MS Team, since it's in the european frontline or something like that.

    Jesus.

Have a happy three and a half hours, then, I guess. Seven and a half if you then decide to watch the movies.
