I've never seen any of those pygmy archer things...
And I don't think that wisps are hostile at night with the latest version, but who KNOWS where the technic crew is at with updating...

Made my first redstone creation thing.
Yay automatic-sliding-block doors.
Funny thing about the Technic pack is that you never actually have to mine a diamond ore block, which makes things very easy for you. Get diamonds first, via the 64 coal + 8 flint + 4 clay → 1 diamond route (you lose the 8 flint and 4 clay in EMC though), and once you got a couple then you can make a condenser.
I can do very well with pipes and tubes.
Naw man doing it blind is pretty fun- only thing is crafting recipes and shit. Like, what even is the point of all these ores??? Better go find out I guess, because hey did anybody actually learn the vanilla crafting recipes blind NO, THAT IS CRAZY. But encountering all the crazy worldgen shit the full technic pack adds is great, if only because HAHAHAHA what is that, is that a fish OH SHIT I'M THE DEADS
Hmmmm, maybe when I do it I'll find/have someone make a crafting list. Then I'll craft things and be like what is this even for???
Well, you can use the recipe mode function of NEI. Simply click on it in the item selection screen and press R.
There is also a crafting table II that takes away the whole put-into-grid thing and replaces it with an item selection screen instead.
EDIT:
The recipe mode does just that: shows recipe. It does not show the way to create items that need other machines, e.g. the Rolling Machine (Railcraft), Macerator and co. (IC2), Any Machine with a Funky GUI (Forestry).
Even with a SSD the server can't write the player files fast enough :V
Doesn't looking up buildcraft (or was it IC2) recipes crash minecraft in the latest version of NEI?
@Phish That was in 1.2.3. IC2 uses a custom recipe handler, and that didn't get included in NEI.
Man, I feel like the game needs to have one more tier of difficulty. Not like difficulty settings, but like something harder than the nether. I'm thinking of it like this:
Tier 1: Ground level. Live in a cave, hunt for food, avoid skeletons.
Tier 2: Diamond level. Explore deep caves and structures like abandoned mineshafts.
Tier 3: Nether. Acquire blaze rods, nether wart, glowstone, and ghast tears.
Generally, that's how the game progresses. You go to the nether and fight the hardest enemies in the game in order to get the gear required to make enchantments and potions. But then... what do you do with that awesome gear? It's not really necessary for the nether, since you get all that stuff from the nether anyway, and once you have it the nether isn't really necessary anymore. The only other thing to do is go out on a trek for the endboss. I feel like there should be a tier 4, where there are monsters that have many more hearts than you're used to, and where they are capable of dealing much more damage, but also give out greatly increased experience, since that's the one resource in the game that is still (generally) hard to get at that point, since you get such a small amount from each enemy. That way, once you have an enchanting table and a brewing stand, there's some enemies that you can use those weapons on (since most of the potions are just much more powerful than is necessary for anything in the game), while getting the experience to build up gear that can take on the ender dragon (which would be tier 5 here). It would really make things a lot more interesting.
Sigh, tried to do some LPing, but upon activating fraps my fps immediately dropped to like 6. I'm running a fairly nice computer, memory and cpu were not even close to maxed out. Does anyone have any experience working with fraps/minecraft?
Any suggestions? I've run Camstudio in the past, but any longer than 10 minutes and it just tends to break the video.
Besides the occasional overheat-like texture loading (that may or may not be from a mod), yeah, Optifine is pretty neat.
I was already playing on optifine with all the graphics set to worst. I'll try Hypercam next time I have time to record stuff.
I call mudshack right next door!
sig quotes I guess? (one of them)
