Hey fantroll RPers! Do your hair or horns need some smoothing along? Is your sprite an edit of one of the in-comic AB sprites? Can't figure out how to draw something, or how to do shading, or how to anatomy and perspective?

In short, do you have a sprite you need improved? Look no further! We want to Pimp Your Sprite. Our team of trained wizards are here to take your AB or standard sprite and give it some sprucing up. No more Karkat and Kanaya AB sprite clones everywhere, we're here to original-ify your sprite!

First thing is that this is not a critique thread, this is a revisions thread. Thanks in advance! Let's continue.

If you need help, post your sprite (if you need general help on your AB, just post the base sprite - we can't make a whole AB for you) with a description of what you want worked on. Someone will be with you ASAP. One sprite per person at a time.

Communication may happen through private messages; keep an eye on your PM inbox after you post a sprite! However, it also may not; we're not perfect about keeping in contact, so make sure to check back here every once and a while, too!

There may be a few revisions before it's exactly what you want, and there might also be a few additional things the spriter changes (stray pixels, smoothing, shading and whatnot). If you don't like a change, please explain respectfully and we'll be happy to work with you. Keep in mind that this is the "PIMP MY SPRITE" thread, not the "PERFECT MY SPRITE" thread.

Patience please! We have limited resources but we'll get to you in turn.

Lastly: Please give credit to our wizard artists! If you're writing your profile, please credit them in a note in the profile. For AB sprites, just tell people who you got them from if they ask! We appreciate you helping us by doing this.

There are no longer any official sprite-pimpers of the thread. Anyone who believes they have sufficient spriting skill to make a sprite better is allowed to help. The sprite help thread is literally for anyone who wants to participate as long as your sprites have synergy. That means the only real requirement these days is that the sprite has to look better when you finished than how it looked to begin with. There's no official list of people since most of the original spriters don't participate in this thread any more and everyone seems to come and go as they please. You just basically pick up whatever sprite you want to do and make a post about what you're working on so we don't end up with a bunch of people doing the same thing.

primarily what i need is to make the shirt more of a dark gray as opposed to full black, for the sake of eliminating the transparent outline i have to use to distinguish it from the hair
the other thing that could use some help is the face, i'd maybe like to distinguish it a bit from the nepeta base i used, make it look a bit less derpy, and maybe have a mouth that doesn't look so awful
other touchups i'm still fine with looking at, though
(also wholeheartedly accepting additional expressions/poses)

Well, a lot of help I guess? I'll just make a list for efficiency.

- One thing I need help with is her hair. I wasn't exactly able to do it myself so... It just needs to be voluminous and reach down to about her waist or a tad lower than that. Whichever looks best I suppose. & also I had an idea for her horns, perhaps similar to her symbol and wrapping around the back of her head?
- & then I just need help with the dress and shoes. The dress just needs to be a tad longer and perhaps adding another layer underneath it would look better. & then I was hoping someone could edit the shoes into heels? (Sorry if I didn't word that correctly.)
- I was also thinking about a scarf, maybe? I can't sprite for my life, though.

...Sorry for writing a whole paragraph. I'm just tremendously terribad at this.

Shirt tweaked, no face edits though.

(Also sadly the transparency was lost because as far as I know MSPaint doesn't have an option for that.)

Basically I need a few things done.

1. The hair isn't really the best, my idea was that it's smooth, with a few spikes that point backwards, if that makes any sense.
2. The horn isn't quite what I wanted. I really want it to be more curved, and also have a more circle-y base.
3. I'm not really happy with the outfit. It's supposed to be a dark grey Karate uniform with a red belt, but I kinda failed, seeing as I'm not good at outfits.

- I can't get the symbol right (flatly should be changed??)
- please make the clothes look more worn/ratty
- the hair kinda needs to look more messy
- her eyes remain hidden

Hello, i've been attempting to remake my first troll Azuria's base sprite, seen as i made it almost a year ago now. I've retconned her since, so it doesn't fit her anymore. Sadly, my attempts have been in vain, and i sadly didn't save the attempted edits. I hope you'll be able to help me out with it. c:

What i've been attempting to do with her sprite is editing it so it fits her AB's Poot made for me a while ago.

Here's the old sprite, also my first.



And here's an example of what i've tried to make it match.



So the things i've tried to change on it is;

- Shirt color/design
- Skirt change (Making it look somewhat like this, just her blood colour instead of red.)
- Revising the hair a bit to get it away from the "aradia spectrum"
- Editing the eyes so they look more asian, as she was supposed to be orientally themed. (I'm gonna attempt to edit that onto the AB myself later, unless the sprite artist does that aswell.)
- Adding her mechanical left shin replacement. (Provided that it's visible on the sprite.)

If anyone could do this, i'd be eternally grateful. c:

also, could you make her have a more tortured facial expression?
and maybe a more intricate skirt, all in red, of course.

My single biggest beef with Fragor's AB sprite is the general outlining. And the collar. It all looks way too jagged and just not natural at all, but every time I've tried to mess with it I've just made it look worse.

Secondly, there's his hair. I pretty much pulled it from his base sprite exactly as is;

And I'd really like for there to be some actual perspective to it on the AB.

Another, smaller and much nitpickier issue is with his AB sprite's jacket. It just looks...heavier than I intended it to be. I don't even really know how else to describe it, and if you don't get what I'm talking about, then don't worry about it. But if you understand and can fix it, then that's awesome.

I present;

A challenge.
I should probably make it clear she is wearing a lab coat, and has some blood smears on her clearly.
She wears shorts and has leg bandages up to her knees, no shoes.

I could never get a good sprite of her done.
Granted these are okay I think I know what I'd fix if I could.

- The third arm looks out of place in comparison to the rest of her
- Make the entire eye melty goopy rather than just a part of it
- Fix the hair slightly
- Make the horns look a little smoother

That's all I can think to say.

well, I made a troll using a troll generator from the net(for the troll) and I used photoshop(cutting and pasting the troll and the description onto a new image and attempting to colour the description with Photoshop's replace colour tool)and mspaint(for the troll's description) and I think it looks good, although I might need to finish it up a little(the troll).
So here it is:

The description has an ugly colour to it since it's a failed attempt to replace the colour of it, but I hope the rest of the image looks great!
The troll's name is Evren Fidichoro as it says in the description and his trolltag is uchuuTitanium and although I didn't add a zodiac sign, his zodiac sign is supposed to be (*FAN RAVE WARNING!!!*) Ophiuchus.

EDIT: "Away from Aradia" was a bit vague.... so.... which is why i did the Talk Sprites to get an idea on hair style.


(note: i'm not part of the "sprite art team" but i'd creep in and peek at the thread. Maybe leave a gift or two behind..... I wanted to do this sprite cause i remember the fantroll from around the forums. +1 fan )

Oh holy shrap! Thank you so much finepoint! I just have one little issue...

The eyes. They're supposed to be completely dark red, to reflect his psychic power. I don't really trust myself to touch it up, so a minor Round 2 would make me incredibly happy!
