Thread: The Binding of Isaac: A Journey into the Pits of Some Scary Dark Places

Re: The Binding of Isaac: A Journey into the Pits of Some Scary Dark Places

Well, got my groove back I guess, beat Mom and then beat Mom's Heart pretty easily, forgot about the no damage part, if I would have tried harder I could have easily done that. And then I do a quick run as Judas, get some cool items, then get to a spikepit treasure room thing and figure "yeah I'll bite, even though I only have one heart", and then it killed me

Fury (is that what it's called?) is definitely one of my favorite new items, pretty much trivializes rooms with lots of enemies. I really like the thing that makes you sometimes spawn attack flies when shooting too.

So yeah, the music in the super secret rooms is pretty much the most soothing thing ever. I've sat in one for 5+ minutes just to chill and listen to the tune.

So, manged to pick up Brimstone, The Pact, Bloody Lust, Lump of Coal, and Growth Hormones in one run, along with Fate, the Nail, and Guppy's head. Mom's Heart died in 2 shots.

Unfortunately, I was playing on my laptop, so the game ended there. I have no doubts in my mind that I would've annihilated Sheol/Cathedral though.

Got the DLC today, and played a few games. First game I died on The Catacombs I, second game was the blindness challenge. I got Technology II and Spirit of the Night. Made it to Necropolis, then died because I spent too many hearts in the devil room.

I'm aware, but it's usually frowned upon to derail for avatars.

I derail all of the time, though.

And Ed Atlin says Mama Mia in EVERYTHING he does. Even his twotoral videos, and Where's my shoe.

I managed to get Technology, Technology 2.0, and Brimstone at once, and it was pretty weird. I guess Brimstone just got rid of the first Technology, but Tech 2.0 would still stay on when charging, but it was really really thin and went both ahead and behind me. Also it seemed to do more damage. It was strange, but pretty powerful altogether.

Henry Spencer: story behind this pic: i walked in with 98 coins, and i proceeded to play the fortune teller machine until i got a card that let me spawn a regular slot. then i played the regular slot for over 150 coins... last coin, it blew up and gave me a dollar

Just a heads up- #9 requires you to kill Satan. I assume #10 does as well.

Am I the only one who actually enjoys playing as ???/Blue Baby? I'm actually pretty solid with him. It's supposed to be more of a troll than anything, but I welcome the extra challenge, and I've beat Sheol/the Cathedral multiple times with him. :V

Book of Revelations with ??? is like the Infinite No Fucks Given Machine.

Just beat cathedral and sheol with Eve. I'm liking her a lot more now. Not sure if it's cuz of the update or I just got her strategy down but I actually enjoyed those two runs. I like that her play style is significantly different from the rest.

    okay

i have found the opest thing

    tech 2 + the mulligan

With 'The Mulligan', blue kamikaze flies have a chance to spawn next to you on hit. With Tech 2, you've got a weapon that hits fast, but does low damage. See where I'm getting at?

    it's like swarm from bioshock

It's not as OP as The Habit and any health or soul heart restoring item
It makes you literally invincible up until The Heart

    It's still pretty cool though

But it doesn't matter. NOTHING is more OP than Super Fetus.

I was getting wrecked on The Purist challenge. Kept dying.

And then I found Super Fetus.
    And I won. No contest.

It replaces your tears with the Doctor's Remote.

Is there some reason you didn't just want to google the item's purpose?

Epic Fetus does sound pretty ridiculous though

Is that an unlockable or what?

It is unlocked upon completion of Doctor's Revenge, appropriately enough.

got guppy's hairball and decided to test how big/dangerous it could get in a easily farmed room. After about 5 minutes of farming flies, I think this is the max size.

its quite fun whipping it around like a ball n'chain.

Yes, the game is 60% about discovering stuff and figuring out how everything works.
I'll look up the stupider items (read: trinkets) later, but for now, I'm going to avoid too much of that.
...I'll probably look up "Curse of the Lost" though. WHAT THE HELL CHANGED I CANNOT TELL

And speaking of ball and chain... that Ipecac is very much an "it seemed like a good idea at the time" item.
The $3 Bill kept giving my shots the "reflective" ability. Randomly, so I couldn't predict when it would happen.

It removes the rules for secret room spawning.
