I thought those were knees, and that's after I realized she was female and was looking for signs of femininity. I guess going back to the page before helped.

I'd like to note that the "Comic occasionally has scenes of extreme violence" disclaimer that Thunt puts up is entirely justified, so if you are skittish about things dying in pretty graphic ways you have been warned.

I can't wait to see how the blade beetles become relevant, because you know sooner or later they're going to swarm something.

I don't know 'dies' could suggest multiple times. I only realize the demon was female when she used the 'she' pronoun to describe the Demonic Nutrition chart.

I didn't really care that the demon was female. It's not like anyone was feeling like shipping it at the moment... WERE THEY? I mean, it doesn't look very humanoid (well, a bit like a predator), so I doubt it has any attraction to either of the party. So the gender didn't seem to be a big deal to me.

The real question is: will Fox sacrifice herself to try and prevent Dies from dying?
And I'm pretty sure one of the best moments in the comic is when Minimax gauges attractiveness from charisma scores.

There is not really any doubt about that, she is going to demand to get to sacrifice herself. I betcha.

And I'm pretty sure one of the best moments in the comic is when Minimax gauges attractiveness from charisma scores.

Happens to be one of the things i remember real well, too. Really, DM's should be saying 'And this NPC has 13 cha, and this one...'

Oh great. The orb they sought was in another chamber still. That's why you don't make deals with demons unless you ACTUALLY go over all facets of the ARRANGEMENT.

How important is this orb to have several horrors from hell guarding it?

I don't see a problem here. It said a soul for the orb. Dies was trading for the final orb, not the blue orb. It can't back out.

All the demon said was "one soul for one orb", all Dies said was "my soul, for the orb." Nowhere was it specified which orb, so the demon provided the blue stone orb in exchange for Dies' soul. Deal complete.

The demon admitted to being the guardian of the orb. Dies said his soul for the orb. He didn't say the blue orb. Here is why it is critical. I will use French grammar to illustrate why this is important >>

There is a definite article and indefinite article. Definite is le/la/es. Indefinite is un/une/des. When you say that there is a computer here, you'd say, "Il y a un ordinateur ici." To use le in that context would say that it is THE computer, the definitive computer, whereas un says a computer, not like a titular computer.

Thus, in saying the orb, he wasn't talking about a blue orb, but rather the orb of mcguffin plot-tokenness. Therefore the demon is reneging on the bargain if it isn't given. The blue orb was not distinguished as the object being traded for, but rather the orb, wherein Dies means the Orb of Bloodlight. And Dies made the offer, not the demon. The demon was just all "You need to make a deal for one orb." Thus, Dies chose what the trade was for, and the demon agreed.

/End grammar semantics.
