A Pink And Watery Sky; updates slower than dresden codak

Today is the first day of summer, fourteen years after your mother gave birth to you, and you have known for a long, long time that the spring that just passed was to be your last in your home.

You step into the pink light of day, the watery sky above you rippling and shifting, and you can hear the animals you have raised chirping in their hutch.

    What is your name?

You go to your grasshopper hutch, reaching down and scooping up one of the insects to examine. She's beautiful, the length of your forearm, and she's calm in your hands after a flick of her antenna to pick up her scent.

You've spent the last few days bartering and divvying up where the grasshoppers would go. Half of them, you expect, will have been roasted by sundown, but you can't take them with you when you set out in an hour or two, even if you do grow them small (at least compared to wild grasshoppers).

The Human Inequality, AKA the adventure I'm actually working on right now. where 'right now' means 'more recently than the other'
Also, you should look at It's Anyone's Game, and possibly update it! Cause it's awesome like that.

You look up towards the pink and watery sky, and see, far away in the distance, past the southern mountains, a vast and fat-bellied airhome.

Much closer to you, there is a leather-winged lizard gliding through the air; a sure sign of a warm day to come.

As delicious as a good meal of roasted grasshopper and greens would be, you hardly have time to be cooking right now! You really should be getting ready to leave, in fact. Now, what was it that you needed...?

A map, some spare clothes, portable food, a sturdy dream-catcher, a cooking knife, good shoes, a compass, and your medicine. (Seconding Jacques )

You comb and tie back your hair, then gather the things you need from your soon-to-be-former house.

Now, what are you going to wear to set out on your journey? (Besides shoes!)

Yes, a stylish hat. Also, matching shirt, pants, and perhaps a scarf as well.

    Hmmmm....Oh! I know!

Let's go to the ocean! I'm guessing we can reach one by the top-left path, so THAT-A-WAY!

    What ocean?

But seriously, you have no idea what an ocean is, and you are pretty sure that whatever it is isn't to the northwest.
