Lurkfia Day Seven ([Finally] Over)

Alright, so 2500 posts seemed like a decent point to make my foray into hosting Mafias.

The idea that spawned this little game here was heavily inspired by various comments by players throughout the forum, but extra kudos goes to hp and Dread. These lovely ladies made the initial comments that really made me think about creating this.

So without further ado, I present to you:

LURKFIA
(Title is somewhat deceptive)

They came only a couple of weeks ago, but already most of the nearby towns had been destroyed. Silent Hill, Quietville, The No-Talk County. All fell in days, and now the dreaded shadow had fallen upon the sprawling metropolis of Lurkopolis.

The dreaded Talkfia already had their members in place within the city. Their strict adherence to 'talk or die' was against everything the people of this quiet land stood for, and many had already paid the price. Not that the innocent townsfolk stood idly by, but they had been so used to their near-silent lives that almost nobody ever said anything in town meetings, and so the Talkfia got away with their heinous crimes.

But Lurkopolis was a much larger, more populated place then the others. Perhaps there were some here who would stand up to the Talkfia. If they wanted to survive, they didn't had much of a choice.

And now for rules. Many of these rules were taken (and slightly modified) from other rules around these here forums, but not all of them were copy-pastad.

1. Massclaims WILL NOT SAVE YOU! Claiming in general may not be THE BEST IDEA either. (Don't massclaim, it's not fun, and will usually hurt you.)

2. Turns out that days are actually FIVE DAYS DAYS long (120 hours). CERTAIN THINGS may cause an EXTENSION. Nights will be THREE DAYS long (72hours). (Days are 120 hours long barring shenanigans, nights are 72 hours long. This is of course if nothing happens on my end.)

3. Votes carry more weight then regular words, and as such should be BOLDED. However, due to their weight, votes are an immediate thing, therefore there will be NO DEADLINE VOTES. (No deadline votes.)

5. The few taking control of a life or death decision such as a LYNCH is the action of TYRANTS, and the good people of Lurkopolis will not tolerate such a thing. As such, SOFTLYNCHES are not a thing. (No softlynching.)

6. The inhabitants of Lurkopolis are a suspicious bunch, and as such never leave town
to talk to OTHER PEOPLE outside of the thread via PMs or IRC. They are entitled to their own personal thoughts and questions, which they may find in a QUICKTOPIC. (No talking about the game outside of the thread, or in your QT.)

7. Good citizens never GO BACK ON THEIR WORD. Editing or deleting posts may (see: will) be met with a SWIFT AND UNFORGIVING DEATH. (No editing or deleting posts, unless it's to make some super minor spelling correction. Disobeying will result in modkills.)

8. Thoughts should remain to oneself. Furthermore COPYPASTA is the most disgusting pasta. Things in your quicktopic may be PARAPHRASED, but never DIRECTLY QUOTED or SHARED. (No sharing quicktopics.)

9. The inhabitants of Lurkopolis are clever, but not particularly smart. Not smart enough to create CIPHERS, at the very least. (No ciphers.)

10. If you cannot POST for a dayphase, it is VITAL that you inform me in your quicktopic. Otherwise you may suffer UNKNOWN REPERCUSSIONS. Those who are too ill to leave their homes will be EXCUSED from attending the Lurkopolis kill-meeting for the day. (Inform me ahead of time, or as soon as possible, if you cannot be available for a dayphase or so. This is very important.)

11. Your MOD may or may not be a BASTARDY MOD. However, he ASSURES you there are none who would BETRAY their INITIAL CAUSE, and that he does not BELIEVE IN JESTERS. They're simply not a real thing. (This is a strange game, so minor bastardry may exist. No jesters though, or roles that switch alignments).

12. Lurkopolis has a strict curfew policy. As such, after one of your own is BRUTALLY MURDERED by their NEIGHBOURS (or no such thing happens at nightstart) you must all RETURN TO YOUR HOMES, and can no longer participate in the thread until DAY HAS FALLEN. (No posting during the night, unless it's your BLUH post.)

13. The inhabitants of Lurkopolis are fans of heroic dramas and action movies, and all wish to go down in a BLAZE OF GLORY like their heroes. As such, should one die they are allowed one SPUR OF THE MOMENT shout out to the city. However, in this FRENZY they are unlikely to remember anything important they had to say. (You are entitled to one BLUH post when you die. It may not contain any important information about the game.)

14. There may or may not be MORE THAN TWO sides in this CONFLICT. (There may be multiple parties.)

15. Karkat is some sort of VENGEFUL GOD. If you claim to be one of his PROPHETS via a day activation YOU DO NOT HAVE, you will SUFFER HIS WRATH (and die as if the mod had done so himself). Those who question the actions of his PROPHETS by not waiting for their actions to take place may also be DESTROYED. (Faking a day-activation will get you modkilled. Be warned. They may or may not exist.)

16. Modkill = loss in every sense. (If you are modkilled, you become a third-party survivor.)

17. This is, first and foremost, a game, and as such should be fun. (Seriously, if you're purposely just going around and causing the game not to be fun in any way for other people, you will be warned and possibly modkilled for it.)

So I don't think this is quite as outrageous as the clusterfucks I've seen out here, but it's pretty damn strange. Somewhere in the middle, if I had to guess. Due to the mechanics of the game balancing isn't 100% possible, but as your mod I will do my very best.

This will likely start when at least one of Malwarefia, Crooks II, or Maftrimonial Mayhem have finished.

Ah well. I understand this will be quite a silly game along with possible real life interruptions and having me into the mix (A newb by the way) would probably give the whole game a whole new set of "wine".

Actually, this is more like half a clusterfuck. I put some effort into balance, though making more interesting roles and rules makes a perfect balance impossible.
