THE squiddle project (ART DESPERATELY NEEDED)

I just don't like that it's plural. All 12 canon aspects are singular.
When it comes to Sburb/Swhatever mechanics, I don't want to deviate from canon.

Not to mention only two people (Three including you, but I didn't see your post if you did) supported Words. Hell, one of those is Edo who changes his mind on everything.
I don't think we have the data to support that most people prefer words.

Of course if most of you guys think it's a better idea, I'll go with it. It's not that big a deal.


I just realized some stuff needs to be put in the OP. Who had the list of classes and aspects we agreed on...?

I know it's controversial, but I'm rather in favour of completely halving the list of aspects, and simply having wo squiddles per aspect. To me it seems so much easier to manage, because seriously? Door? Road? Touch? No offense but I'd cull half of those at the drop of a hat.

Also it's humorous if S__b runs out of aspects and has to double them up.

I don't know, I myself have too much of a problem with halving the aspects. I mean I know it makes things easier to mange... But it feels like it breaks some rule of the game, and is too unfaithful to the canon.

I might just be the only person bothered by it though...

Sburb is the kind of game where it would run out and just say 'oh well, two people per aspect'.

Yeah actually, sounds like a great idea to me and could even be a source of amusing interactions between characters who share aspects. Does it really bother you a lot though, Edo? D8

(Also, what with cuddle buddies and sharing a land per two squiddles, adding this two-squiddle-aspect thing would contribute to a pattern of DUALITY throughout this session. We like patterns, don't we?)

Also, half of what is listed in the aspects could become land aspects but that would put Raffe's contribution to waste and that would suck. D8 Sooo. We could combine our lists and select 24 single-syllable character aspects (with all canon character aspects included) and 24 medium aspects which are not necessarily monosyllabic (we must include all of the canon aspects in this list!)

Also Doors and Roads should be on the medium aspects list rather than the player aspects.
Also, I rather like Thread and Mist, and have replaced Touch and Flint.

ok, I'm thinking of spliting the genders of the buddies down the middle, and creating 24 masculine oriented and 24 feminine ones.

The only one I have a strong idea for as a character in itself is the Hero of Blood, who must be rainbow coloured. This is unavoidable.... possibly the leader as well, but that is debatable.

I just want to say that a while back before this thread I actually started to concept out the 48 squiddle session! Needless to say, I didn't get very far. Not very far at all...
I only ended up designing this guy.


Which brings me to a point I want to make about symbols. In the kid's universe, their zodiac was made of the trolls's 12 symbols. I don't know if I'm remembering correctly, but the trolls's 12 symbols came from their 48 symbol zodiac. Wouldn't that mean that 12 of the squiddles need the trolls's symbols?

Actually the troll symbols come from their blood class. There are various symbols for each blood type and you pick one. Save for Karkat, who just has the one symbol. I don't think you ever see the trolloscope symbols.

I could have sworn that the blood-class symbols were based on their zodiac but... since I can't actually quote it, I'll just go with what you said.
