*whimper* I want to join, but I have no applicable musical ability
Sooo.... Unless you need somebody to sing lyrics like a terrified wriggler, I'll volunteer for album art and stuff. When you get there, I mean. If that's okay.
Better stretch my legs... Sure has been a while.

I would love the little jingles, i.e. Sleep theme and Echeladder
Because I love little jingles.

I could do another theme later if necessary. For full length songs re. games, Nimble Footing could possibly be my favourite. However, Sgrubian Wilderness is probably a more recent indication of my composing.

I think doing remixes would be appropriate for a number of themes- Sburban Jungle on the loading screen, that, uh, what was it, Skies of Skaia that played when Nannasprite was doing exposition? Jack Noir's theme should use Ballad of Jack Noir or more preferably Negrocity/Black, and the Black King has his leitmotif from Rex Duodecim Angelus. Sampling bits from other songs to solidify the connection to moments from Sburb (parts of Doctor/SotWW for godtier, Black Rose/Green Sun for The Green Sun, the bit where Bec prototypes in UU for prototyping)... a full Sburb OST that ignores the huge body of work that was written as a Homestuck OST (especially vol. 5)... I wouldn't be excited for it, at least.

i would personally notbeexcited for an albums that have rehashes on the themes that have already been done to death, offically and unofficially. Sburb, the album, was original and was well done. We wouldn't be ignoring the volumes of music already made, but that's just it. That music is already there. Let's make our own world with our music, our own reimagination of what the music for sburb would sound like instead of giving people a variatiom of things they've already come to expect. I don't know about anyone else but my fists are ready to go atthe first person to make a doctor remix.
I agree that the artists involved should strive to create original pieces. We've sort of fallen into a habit of redoing the same bits as Nuc said. So here's what I propose: try to create something original that you think is fitting, post it here, listen to comments from the others and if you still feel that it's not the same, then maybe insert an underscore of an exist theme, but not so that it stands out from the foreground too much.
the idea for this album is to make an OST of music which applies to all sessions. When discussing the project with shadolith and a few others the general consensus was that this album should be as original as possible.
As its been said rehashes of homestuck themes have been done to death and our goal is to create a good, unique, original listening experience.
Also i like the approach of auditioning people and organising who wants to do what after being let on the project. It makes the whole project feel more organised then, say-- the fanmusic album (which is/was a good project in its own right and one i was proud to be a part of to be fair),
Im all for the sharing of ideas though. It is good for artists to bounce ideas off of each other, For instance i think it would be cool if the denizen theme was remixed to some extent in the denizen strife theme assuming those ideas are used.

wattabout remixes of the sburb theme
seems like that would be in-theme
