I don't know about Doctor/Donna, but Doctor Master has been around since the old series.

I would also say that Leonard Sheldon, though, not . He seems too antagonistic sometimes, especially after Sheldon ruined his relationship with Penny.

He even admits he's his best friend. Even if most of Sheldon's advice comes from told-you-so moments.

Donna was the Doctor's "mate", in the British sense, not the biological one. Also the only companion of the new series (possibly discounting Rory and a few of the one-offs) not to have crushed on him, which was a thing he needed after losing Rose twice, and then the screwup with Martha. all the way.
