Oh my gosh, three days on a bus sounds like a nightmare. Trains are so much more comfortable, even without a room.

I'll take your word for it, but spending 3 days (to and from) sleeping in a chair can't be fun.

I've taken a train from Seattle to Minnesota a 3 day trip IIRC, and the chairs are surprisingly comfortable. Plus you can walk around as much as you want, so you don't actually have to be sitting down. The chairs recline a lot, thought not enough to be a bed I think.

Main drawbacks to trains are probably babies and that everything is a bit overpriced because where else are you going to go?
