    Re: Fan sightings!

    Personally, I've never seen any.
And nobody really reacts when I walk around in my sollux shirt.
(Except for my english teacher who asked why I had two written on my shirt. I then explained it was the Gemini symbol and it was funny because I am both a gemini and a twin.
    There was much laughing.)

But apparently a friend of mine has met quite a lot of them.
I don't know how she does it.
I keep thinking there are only two readers here in Denmark.

I met a girl in my math class who started reading it a few weeks ago! Much fangirling occurred.

    Apparently I'm famous now.

It's because I'm AWESOME and people LIKE me. Not you.
And because I go to cons in order to touch the HS-cosplayers
appropriately and yell at them for being in the wrong timeline.

Also, I have sighted Ganato in his sollux shirt.
Even losing you (the joking voice, a gesture
    I love) I shan't have lied. It's evident
the art of losing's not too hard to master
though it may look like (Write it!) like disaster.

I've met someone from here (Ocfos).

And I found the most awesome Nepeta cosplayer ever. Ever ever ever. Without the gray skin, but that is pretty stupid anyway.

I spotted one at a local convention about two months ago. Yet alas, he was an elusive creature and escaped my grasp

    Re: Fan sightings!

I asked a close friend of mine if he had heard of Homestuck, and an extremely awkward guy wearing a fedora piped up behind him. It was uncomfortable and I rebuffed his further attempts at making conversation. I'm afraid of trying to make MSPA-related connections offline because of it.

    Should I try again?

If he makes you feel uncomfortable, I don't see any good reason to.

Though I admit I don't exactly understand what about him made you uncomfortable, or why this one bad experience has made you scared to make connections with other fans.

You clearly haven't met many awkward fedora-wearing dudes. I know the type.

Anyway, I ran into some dudes and ladies at a mall who were there for the first Ohiomestuck meetup, but other than that, I don't really know any Homestuck fans IRL. I have a friend who likes Problem Sleuth, but he's reluctant to read HS because of its length (understandable).

It's like this one kid on my floor said.
A guy wearing a fedora and/or trenchcoat is either incredibly friggen awesome or or is an incredibly friggen creepy weirdo. Who is usually just trying to emulate the first person.
    It's weird, really...

    Does seeing a large amount of troll cosplayers and what not at Anime Boston before you were a fan of Homestuck yourself count? Because if it does, then yeah, that. Although if I *had* been a fan back then, I would've been too shy to go over to the photo shoot anyway because I get insanely timid around people I don't know. ^^;

He also might have run into some of the ass-annoying fanbutts while looking up HS. That easily contributed to my reluctance to read it.

Anyway, I tried again today! I made a conversational attempt with a friend regarding Homestuck. I succeeded in making it out to be utterly retarded. Back to square one, I guess.

I wore my SBAHJ shirt at Texas State Solo and Ensemble contest yesterday. Found 5 Homestuck readers and one person who only knew SBAHJ. 0_o

I did see a bunch of awesome Homestuck cosplay at MCM London. That was fun. Some of the trolls, a few Johns, a Dave and Roses, but no Jade.

I saw someone dressed as Gamzee at a Zombie March in Boston and talked to them awkwardly then lost them in the crowd.
I couldn't find them again and I didn't get their name.
I do kinda look like a hawk for shirts from HS though.

I was at Six Flags in NJ during my travels and I saw this guy in a Dave Strider shirt. I attempted to bring the beat down, but he was too far away. I had to be content with a thumbs up while my five dollar cape waved dramatically in the wind. In that one moment we both knew it: we were so cool.

I'd do anything (within the law) to meet a fellow HS fan IRL. But alas, I'm one of the many on here who have no fellow fans to speak with in person.

Hence why I joined this forum :P

You're probably surrounded by closet MSPA fans. Wearing paraphernalia helps pull them out of hiding, but personally I let kismet do my work for me. What state are you mate?

I'm pretty sure that besides me, two of my friends, and my younger brother, no one within a 200 mile radius has ever heard of Homestuck. My friends because I occasionally tell them jokes about or inspired by it, and my bro because I showed it to him once. His reaction was not good. He called it "weird" and "stupid".

    Re: Fan sightings!

So I saw a girl wearing an Eridan shirt at my school. I wanted to acknowledge it to her, but I didn't know how to make conversation without it being too awkward. Before I knew it, I lost her in a wave of people.

But then I saw the same girl wearing a Dave shirt a week later and before I lost her, I shouted STRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIDER while giving her a thumbs up.

It's no wonder she didn't wanna be my friend.

Incidentally related to the motivation behind the thread, I am tempted to grab a few poscas/spraycans and go to town on Sydney University with mspa references and hide behind bushes to study the folks who stop by to look at what I've done. This may be motivated by a complete lack of sleep.

Indeed we were. On May 13 2011, we were the coolest dudes in the park. No contest. (If you happen to be a completely different person who exchanged thumbs-ups with a guy in a broken record shirt at Six Flags Great Adventure this is going to look very silly).

During the school year, I get my coffee in the design building (caste amongst the humanities students trapped there within).
In that building, there is a chalkboard where random people can draw random things. I drew a bust of Vriska (as might be expected). The very next day though, i found that someone had completed my Vriska drawing and had added a John standing next to her.
This guy is some kind of goddamn wizard.
