So, thoughts on this week's Super Hero Time?

Don manned up so much. Also, All Green Gokai Change and Green Charge!

Meanwhile, we get a Zodiarts with connections to Clash of the Titans and how little Horoscopes are made.

I liked this week pretty good, though personally I think the Don portion of Gokai's story would have been better placed near the start of the season rather than the end. Honestly, it could have worked with any villain, so why did they wait until episode 43 to give us his backstory? Oh well, it was still a great episode and the villainous tension was good to see.

Personally, I loved the way Fourze gave us some exposition regarding our villains both with the Horoscopes twist and the fact that the Principal has been doing his thing for probably at least five years (assuming Sonoda was a senior when she got Scorpion'd and that she had to get a college degree before working at the school).

I'm also rather excited that apparently the second Rider will be debuting next week. Christmas present, indeed.

Why? Because Arakawa and the producers realized that the tribute aspect of Gokaiger wasn't enough to make it a solid show. So they decided to stem the episodic style prevalent since, arguably, Gaoranger or Hurricaneger, and start building things up for the final showdown (a la Shinkenger).

Finally watched Gokaiger/Fourze after the new year break.
Fourze was amazing, and Disco Rider Bruce Lee a.k.a. Meteor it's badass!

Gokaiger was... eehh.
A very disappointing clip show, specially since it has Ninjaman. Although I liked when the Gokai crew trying to "approach" Ninjaman, and Ninjaman's tale of how he got on that pot.

Anyone who can attack people by punching them with the Planet Jupiter has got to be awesome in my book!

This guy seems to be a melee fighter and is a pretty damn awesome one at that. He also makes for the best-worst spy ever.

That said, Gokaiger's final ep. was absolutely epic, even if the final battle was just a ten-minute long chain of hissatsu.
Fourze is building tension well. I honestly thought for a moment that he was going to henshin to Meteor right in front of her, making for all sorts of shenanigans. Oh well.

Also, if my knowledge of what's happening right now is correct, I am somewhat amused that a Pegasus apparently evolved into a Crab...

Also, while Gokaiger was awesome and it's ending was quite good, I found that the Zangyack are a bit lackluster for an anniversary villains. At least compared with the first episode.
I din't felt that Akdos Gill was as bigs as a villain as well, Damaras could have been a better final villain. Specially since he didn't care much about Warz's death and he was just "eh, my son was killed, let's fuck this planet". Compared with Damaras, who really cared about Warz.

But overall, Gokaiger delivered.
Now can't wait for Gobusters and Akibaranger.

Marathoned pretty much all of Gokaiger yesterday. Pretty good stuff. Basco was one hell of a magnificent bastard.

Still hell-a surprised by the Power Rangers references, but, I quite like them.

Also, fuck yes, non-stock-transformation-sequences on a constant basis? About god damned time. : D

Y'know, thinking about it some more, Go-Busters kind of reminds me of a cross between some non-Japanese Toku and the Metal Heroes show Special Rescue Police Winspector (the official German dub of which I actually watched an episode of a while back, so, it's relatively fresh in my memory).

Although, I felt the dancing ending was a bit jarring compared with the tone of the episode. Eh, I guess I'll get used to it.

A short bit of talking later, the camera is fixed on the timer and the scene changes back to the Go-Busters JUST AS IT HITS 4:13.

So. Akibaranger. I really don't know what to say. Other than this is incredibly silly/stupid. That's really all there is to say on the matter.

After one of Fourze's weirder episode sets, here comes our new central enemy! Possibly the new Weather, who knows. I'm thinking that Libra is likely to be the last one defeated at this rate, similar to Uva.

Is there any way we could make akibaranger even weirder by adding SBaHJ to it?

I need to get up to date with Gobusters though, so much Precure and Game of Thrones have been in the way.

While I admit that Gobusters has been quite weak in this last weeks, I'm still enjoying it and episode 8 gave me hope for better episodes. Still need to see the 9th episode. And 9 didn't disappoint, it was so fun to see Enter lose his shit.
Fourze, on the other side, just blew my mind in the last two episodes. DAT COSMIC STATES.
And funny thing, the next episode is the typical school trip, this time to Kyoto; and coincidentally, the Smile Precure girls next episode will also be a school trip in Kyoto.
