Anyone else hope we get to see what the Could've Been King and his army of meanwhiles and neverweres looked like? Because they sound awesome.

Man, I prefer Matt Smiths Doctor over Tennants a lot. Perhaps because I feel like this character has been written a lot better than Tennant's.
I saw the commercial for the new season coming out and I near jizzed myself. It is on this weekend and I am the excite. Do you know when the season came out in England because the Amurikans get it so late.![]()
Dr Who is the reason I'm so glad my family upgraded to a cable package that includes BBC-America. Unfortunately, it doesn't help me too much because except for the Christmas specials, I'm usually back at campus when the episodes come out. Also doesn't help that due to time shenanigans (ie time zones), my British friends will undoubtedly be posting spoilers all over my facebook each time a new episode comes out T_T
Just discovered this topic. I've been a whovian since the fourth doctor (Tom Baker) was a new thing.
If you're looking for a place to start, I'll agree that the NewWho is it - Eccleston's doctor is in a very different place than the old series with the Time Lords all dead, and the time war has made the old "continuity" (such as it is!) optional, so by all means go for the new stuff - it's fun and has modern production values, so if you're the kind of TV viewer who is outraged by cardboard sets and rubber suits, the new series is less likely to put you off.
That said - if you watch NewWho only, you're missing a lot of great stuff! Once your addiction is well settled in, here's some more stuff to sample:
Tom Baker's doctor - ALL OF IT, in order. The last few stories of Doctor 4 start to suffer because of John Nathan Turner's tinkering with the series. Highlights are anything with Leela, and the Key To Time series. Some don't like post-regeneration Romana, but I liked her a lot, especially the E-space stories. There are also several stories that take place on Gallifrey, including one (The Invasion of Time) where you get a really neat tour of big chunks of the rest of the tardis. Not to be missed if you want to know more backstory.
Doctor #2: Many of Patrick Troughton's episodes were lost. Some have been partially reconstructed from old tapes and film over the years. I haven't seen as much of doctor 2 as I probably should, not having kept up with the restorations, but you definitely want to watch his last episode, "War games". It's where a great deal of the time lord history is revealed, and the events of War Games are important to everything that happens with doctor#3, such as his exile to Earth. If there are other complete stories available, by all means watch them, Troughton is a riot.
Doctor#3: Jon Pertwee's doctor's stories take place almost entirely on Earth, with so many alien invasions that you have to wonder why the entire population of the Earth isn't sitting in the corner of rubber rooms in the fetal position. They may not be your cup of tea so to speak, and Pertwee is a GIANT ham (and a lifetime master of the British pantomime tradition of "Gurning"). Take a drink every time he pulls a face that looks like a cross between a taser shot and advanced lockjaw, and you'll like these episodes a lot. Plus, you get Jo Grant and the first half of Sarah Jane Smith's episodes as companions, and those are very good things indeed.
First Doctor: Again, lots of lost episodes. Watch the first one at least just so you can see how it all started, but I'd lightly sample these - the pacing is pretty terrible and I can't say that Hartnell is my favorite actor ever.
Post-Tom Baker, pre-reboot: I can't really recommend any of this. Davison had his OK moments (definitely catch his episodes with the daleks and cybermen), but mostly, these three doctors plus a one-shot movie doctor were fed a shit sandwich, and obviously didn't much enjoy eating it. I'm convinced that Colin Baker's doctor was written the way he was specifically to destroy the series - there really isn't any other explanation for making a main character so wildly unlikeable (and occasionally outright loathsome). McCoy was inoffensive enough, but his stories were terrible, saved only occasionally by his companion Ace (Sophie Aldred). Sample the stories with your favorite enemies, but be prepared to not like these episodes very much overall.

I am sometimes this guy:
I'm pretty sure we aren't behind them at all.
Or maybe we get it sunday and they get it saturday or something.
They cut the season in half this year, so we had half, and the next half is starting up again in TWO DAYS HOPY SHIT I did not notice it was that soon.
Also I think theres some rule about talking in different color text, so you probably shouldn't do that.
When I got hooked on the new Doctor Who, shortly after it aired, I was searching around on youtube for something and found some of the old Tom Baker episodes... LOVED THEM. Was even happier when they reintroduced Elisabeth Sladen in that episode with Tennant.
I miss Tom Baker...
Anyone have a link to a stream?
I can say that my brain has been sufficiently dazzled after that experience.
Also, jasper Shinderp is livestreaming Doctor Who at 21:00 GMT (I think) on his channel.
Good, but I was disappointed at the lack of Hitler.
Welp.
Dat episode.
