So, Pokemon. You probably already know what it is. There's a series of games that are pretty fun, and a card game that sometimes some people play, and some like comic books, and like a TV show that isn't that good. Post here if you want to talk about it.
Stuff that's going on right now (as of the OP) for all you future people reading this:
So Black and White have been out for a while, and everybody thinks they're really good. People are still doing Nuzlocke runs. The Pokemon Global Link is going to be released in two days (!); it got delayed due to the earthquakes/tsunami in Japan. Um that's kinda it, s'far as I know.
Some links that are now like permanently in the OP maybe?:
Bulbapedia: A pretty great Pokemon Wiki with plenty of info on every subject and frequent news stories. Serebii: Like Bulbapedia, but uglier, more confusing English and slightly faster load times sometimes I guess. Just use Bulbapedia, really. Veekun: A incredibly useful Pokedex feature makes this site a must. The Cave of Dragonflies: Filled with lots of tidbits and trivia (Vs. Seeker, the Mew glitch etc) TRsRockin: Contains a plethora of information regarding glitches like MissingNo. and Mew. Defunct. Pokemon Fusion: Put Golbat's mouth on other things. You could also shove other Pokemon sprites together. Nuzlocke: A more difficult/sadder Pokemon. Pokebeach: A Pokemon news site. Updates pretty fast. There isn't that much Pokemon news right now though. Marriland: Another one of them Pokemon sites. Contains some useful features, like checking type resistances of your entire team at once. Smogon University: Contains useful information about battling competitively, especially if you (like me) are not that good.
Um I thought it might be useful to have maybe a list of friend codes here if you guys wanted:
Yo, tagging this. But I'm doing a nuzlocke run of black right now! Somehow...I got PKRS!
My party:
Nibbles the Archen (lvl 28, Impish)
Hamlet the Yamask (lvl 28, Bashful)
Cowboy Dan the Dewott (lvl 28, Lonely)
Fireball the Darumaka (lvl 28, Adamant!!!)
Somebody the Gothita (lvl, 28 Lonely)
Dead:
Reckoner the Sawk (lvl 12-27)
Scourge the Boldore (lvl 10-27)
Clause the Liepard (lvl 25-25)
Hamlet the Yamask (lvl 21-24)
Hamlet the Yamask (lvl 20-22) (I caught one on each level of the ruins, they both died, then I caught a third one in the exit tower...I won't let him die)
Bloom the Cottonee (lvl 14-19)
Sniffles the Munna (lvl 8-8 )
Sinatra the Patrat (lvl 4-16)
Ape the Pansear (lvl 10-16)
Box'd:
Salt the Sandile (lvl 15)
Icee the Vanillite (lvl 23)
Jeez...B/W is HARD. I've never lost this many pokes in a nuzlocke...Hamlets 1 + 2, Reckoner and Bloom were tough...but not as tough as losing Sinatra and Ape to a wild double battle against a tympole and timburr ;_;
I just beat Black last night with a slightly underleveled team (before I fought the E4 the team was high 30s to low 40s, now its all low to mid 40s).
As far as I can remember, this is the only time I ever completed a Pokemon game with more than one bug-type in my party. For anyone that cares, the team consisted of CE Bolton the Scolipede, Lafitte the Krookodile, Bonny the Seismtoad, Louis the Archeops, Alyssa the Gavantula, and Rita the Lampent. Rita was switched out with Resh the Rishiram for the last couple of battles, if only to play along with the late-game's dramatics.
Going for a post on the first page, since I started playing again recently.

I know, right? I've done this 3 times now (can't call it blind anymore). I've gunned for a Blitzle early on every time, and gotten one every time, and it's died. Every time! Eventually on my second playthrough I realized I couldn't save (long story involving how you can't overwrite your save file except from the title screen), and then after three of my best guys fell to wild pokemon I kinda gave up for a long time. I never looked anything up, but having gotten to the... 6th gym I think it was, I've lost half the appeal to nuzlocking it. Still gonna do it though. Just starting to grind everything like mad before the 3rd gym.
Obligatory team listing:
Boltneir, 20 Male Blitzle
Stoutpup, 19 Male Herdier (argh, negative atk nature)
Godpebble, 22 Roggenrola (destroys Lenora, every time)
Metroid, 17 Male Munna
Ivy, 18 Female Servine
Lil Petey, 14 Female Petilil(Just filled last roster slot, argh second grass type)

Good luck keeping that archen alive... god damn those things are fragile.
Come to think of it, how did you get an archen? You'd have to be damn lucky not to run into something else before talking to the girl who give the fossil to you.

It probably got counted as Nacrene city's Pokemon, since he has a Yamask on his team from the castle.
Oh, by the way, I've almost unlocked the last course on the Pokewalker. If anyone has a 4th gen game and needs a Spiritomb, Munchlax, or Feebas, I'll soon be able to hook you up.
I find it hilarious that (and I've just now noticed this) the Global Link opens on 4/13.

I lol'd when I realized this too. We may not get an epic update that day. But we can celebrate it pokemon style.

also I caught a Golette and am using my delusional nighttime hours to train it with Audinos to catch it up to my other pokes. Its name is Cogsworth and it is going to be the best pokemon ever.

Also, I just realized that the only member of my team who is not fully evolved is still at his first form, and yet he is two levels higher than anyone else.
HOW ODD
ALSO YOU GUYS:
The only member of my team who has an unquestionably male name is female!
HOW ODD AS WELL

Also I don't know what the name "Cogsworth" is a reference to, but it is still uncannily fitting.
OKAY LAST EDIT FOR REAL:
I was playing around with the Pokefusion autofusionifier in the first post, and guess what my first randomized result was?
yay new thread, also, I did a dry spit take when I realized what day the PGL goes up on. (don't ask how, I'm not sure) Anyways, I'm in the proccess of building up a somewhat comp -able team as this is the first gen where there are people I can actually play against (Thank you DSI wpa access) this is my goal, so nothing else is set, save that I have a ferroseed with max def IV and a litwick with max Spd IV.
Excited the global link is up now. Unfortunately it seems everybody else who has Pokemon BW feels the same way, so the registeration data is backlogged. Already got a Liepard on it, so now it's just a waiting game.
God I can't stay mad at Noir.
He's just.
He's like when a tiny puppy murders a squirrel and brings the corpse into your house as a present to you and it's wagging its tail and is SO PROUD of itself.
Then it goes into your house, tears your couch apart, and shits on all of your carpets.
We were reading The Giver in my children's literature class, and by the end of the unit I convinced everyone there (including the teacher), that they had eliminated the need to poop.
