"I looked at [x] and thought it said..."

This is a thread about looking at things really quick and thinking they said something else.

For example, I once read the inside leaflet-thingy of a holocaust book, and thought part of it said "Nazi Ragtime". It was pretty funny in context.

I also once looked at "Socratic Circle" and thought it said "Sociopathic Circle", leading to this drawing:

Anyways, what have you looked at quickly and thought you saw?

    Okay, this looks like fun.
    Let's do this!

I looked at the TV guide and saw "American Dad" but I thought it said "Amazing Cake."
    Now I really want cake.

A couple years ago my dad and I passed a drugstore that was advertising "Dawn Dish Liquid" and he told me that he thought it said "Damn Dish Liquid." Now every time I see "Dawn Dish Liquid" advertised on a drugstore sign I read it that way.

Seriously though, I misread things all the dawn time.

This one time at an amusement park, there was this religious booth thing called "Christ on the Range" or something in really loopy font. I thought it said "Uke on the range" Needless to say, I was disappointed in the lack of ukuleles.

    I read this:

    TA: i'm BLIND, remember?

    as...

    TA: i'm BLING, remember?

It was probably influenced by that one eyes-closed misspelling in the open paint close your eyes draw Nepeta post it here thread.

One time I was half asleep and I read "Would you like living with a tidy dorm?" as "Would you like living with a tiny dick?" in an ad.

I was walking out of a local pharmacy and saw a sign that said "SHINGLES SHOTS HERE!" and I read it as "SINGLES SHOTS HERE". I thought the place was turning in to a night club for a week.

I glanced at the instructions on the back of a Hot Pocket and read "Caution: Contents may be hot. Wait two minutes." as "Caution: Contents may not wait two minutes."
In the least offensive way possible.

I once read a fast food ad saying "Charbroiled Turkey Burgers" as "Consecrated Turkey Buttons".

A sign on a public bus said "Spitting is not appropriate. Drivers are equipped with DNA test kits to assist authorities in catching perpetrators."

I read it as "Sitting is not appropriate. Drivers are equipped with DNA test kits to assist authorities in catching perpetrators."

I spent a few seconds trying to work out why sitting was not appropriate on a bus.

Honestly, even the correct reading of that one is kind of hilarious. The driver's gonna do a DNA test to find out who spat on his bus?

I just read that as "The driver's gonna do a DNA test to find out who shat on the bus?"

In that case yes, it would be appropriate.

When my school has big events, they put up those little prop-openable signs with directions and such. The signs have "PROPERTY OF SDSUPD" sprayed on in giant stencil letters. I always always ALWAYS manage to initially misread them as "PROPERTY OF STUPID".

My little sister used to think this said Mr. Good Lemonade. It took several years to convince her otherwise.

The only notable thing I saw on that was "hanging rooms" which I guess is pretty funny on it's own considering the little guy on the sign right by it looks like he's got a hump on his back or he's making off with a sack full of loot.

Driving to Wendy's there was a billboard that said "HELP FOSTER ADOPTION." and I read it as "HELP FOSTER ABORTION"

I saw a sign for some education program.

    "Help us educate your children"

    as

    "Help us eradicate your children"
