Having a prophet is a good idea, could be useful but that child is a little young for that just yet. Still, you make a mental note about it.

Oh and you cure his mother's blindness. She wont be needing those bandages anymore.

No, but there was a huge chunk of land that didn't get "introduced", like the rest did. (Centered on the west half, moving to the northeastern-most part.

Oh that part. If you read the spoilered text I included in the region post that was just below the command quotations and before the image updates, you would've seen I would've included a full enviromental detail map of the whole continent with the north outlined in red as unstartable simply because I do NOT wish to introduce it at this time, and it would be meaningless to start a nation in such a region anyway.

Here. I isolated the part where I mentioned it:

    Re: Kingmaker

Update coming soon. But for the moment I decided to work out the terrain of the rest of the world a bit more into three simple world maps that I will put in the first post.

White represents parts of the world not yet explored/revealed in Kingmaker. Red = revealed territory

Different colours represent different world 'regions'

The world's biomes with one new territory type.*

Dark Green = Heavily forested regions. Can have swamps
Light Green = Temperate Zones/fertile lands. Include rolling hillsides, sparse forests etc. Can have swamps
Sick Green = Taiga Plains/woodlands. Can have swamps
    Light Grey = Frozen Thundra
    *Grey = Wastes and/or Steppes
    Dark Grey = Mountains/Mountainous regions
    Yellow = Desert

Jerik's rather softspoken wife, whom you learn is called Mirada, speaks first. Asking what exactly you are, where you came from, and what you want.

Jerik speaks more brazenly, you suspect he is trying to be brave for his family as you can tell he is beyond terrified of you. You respect his courage. He also demands what you're after, how you came to be here when they needed you most, and how can they trust you?

You inform the couple that you are a young god sent to your realm, you are still learning the full extent of your powers and you are eager to benefit the people of this world as a god given its distinct lack of them. You messed up and your over eagerness hurt others on a small island far to the west. In punishment you banished yourself here, not expecting to find much life in this area until you came across them.

You neglect to mention it was retarded suggestions in your mind that hurt others, but they dont need to know that much specific detail.

You inquire as to why they are out in this barren thundra to begin with.

Jerik is silent for a bit, but then decides, given your honesty, to tell you exactly why they're here. They and their tribe where one of many of his race that roamed the cold north of this continent since time immemorial, or so legends say, it was not as barren or lifeless then but still harsh land.

Then the Ice came. And with it the horrors of slavery. His people were enslaved by a malicious and powerful witch-thing in the north for many centuries. Forced to work harder for food and resources, forced to kill eachother for her amusement. Occasionally their young were culled by her for her own ends and never seen again once they went to the Ice Mountains.

Jerik is the son of his Tribe's Chieftain, he and Mirada have only been married for one summer when their son was born. The Witch-thing demanded his tribe hand the child over, his father led a rebellion in outrage which several of the other tribes joined.

It failed, his tribe was destroyed, he and Mirada are all that's left and with a few of the other tribes fleee south.

They know the Witch-thing littered the southern reaches of her domain with monsters such as the one you just killed to discourage any southern migration. But Jerik had no choice, she is obscenely powerful.

You take pity on Jerik and Mirada. you do not like the sound of this Ice Witch and are unsure of whether or not you would be able to 'take' her in a stand up fight just yet. She DID just terraform the entire north of this continent into ice with her power.

You decide to invite Jerik and Mirada into a covenant. If they accept you as their god and worship you, you will save them from this nightmare by taking not only them, but any surviving tribals of Jarik's race to the Southern woodlands. There you will nurture and guide their people until such a time as they are fit to march North to take on this Ice Witch and her abominable strength to free the remainder of their race.

In return, you expect to take their first born son to be your prophet when he is ten summers old.

You figure inviting Jerik, and by extension his race, into the covenant instead of forcing his people into bondage will put him in good stead in comparison to the witch.

The only ever had one son thus far. The war was started over the witch WANTING the firstborn son, which they still have.

Pretty much had to at some point. Getting a prophet is one of the most highly requested commands since the start of the adventure.

True, but did he have to phrase it so bluntly? Could he nt have asked their permission, or waited and asked their son when he was 10, or something else? They probably think him as bad as the witch-thing now.

He just did ask their permission, and anyway he was just following commands.
    Seems fair enough to me.

    Re: Kingmaker

The witch was going to take the son and possibly kill him.
We just want to use the son as a prophet. Didn't say anythiing about him leaving his family.
I suggest we use him to guide their people instead of directly appearing, and just have him do miracles and so on in our name while we go evangelize elsewhere.

    Re: Kingmaker

It's not like we're stealing the son, he'll still be able to see his family and live among his people. He'll just be our main spokesperson among the people and our way of cementing the bond between mortal and semi-god.

Probably yeah, its a bridge, i'm a god. But I understand the metaphor. I'll keep it in mind for again.

Jerik and Mirada are taking their time with their response. It is a rather cruel situation, they risked everything for their son. Now they are faced with potentially losing him again.

You reassure them that you will hold your end of the covenant. The boy will come to no harm when you call him as your Prophet, it will even be a blessing upon your House, for out of the House of Jerik the first Prophet came. And as such, the House of Jerik shall come to inherit History itself. The Boy will be among his people, and the times when he is not among his people, you will be by his side.

Jerik and Mirada are unamused by your attempts to lighten the mood

Ooooooookaay... Lets forget that happened then, shall we?

Jerik: Look, we agree to your covenant, but you had damn well better hold up your end of the bargain.

You are overjoyed with their response

Yes, Lets. There's no caves nearby so you're gonna have to improvise.

Today is full of awesome surprises you didnt know you could do.
