marinade pork chop(s) in the fridge for at least 12 hours (putting it in a ziplock bag and covering it with soy sauce works well)
broil in the oven as appropriate (1 in. thick chops takes 7-8 minutes in my experience, but it depends on your oven and rack height—the principle here is basically infrared grilling)

They come out nice and moist, and don’t require much effort (unlesp finding prok chops is HARD 8^y )
    definitely panic if there’s caviar

Might I request you do this with some sort of Vietnamese recipe?
Because they have the best food.

I made and ate Rose Lablondies today. They were fanfuckingtastic, but sickeningly sweet.

Re: The Eat Mesa - An MSPA Cookbook

Moldova I am glad you liked the 2 cups of brown sugar in one batch.

YAY aC! You have a happy thanksgiving too C:

I have the whole day to myself when I wake up and I am currently wondering how to adapt Madelines to a Homestuck thing.
Or if I should make something else...more Thanksgiving themed... I think I'll do that Mashed Gamtatoes thing???
Unless you'd like to give that a go Tren--unless you meant something already in the cookbook???

We could both do it and make two different versions.

    EDIT: Also here it is.

    Mashed gamtatoes with gravy
    (By Tren)
    Ingredients
5 pounds Yukon gold or russet potatoes
1 1/2 sticks softened butter, plus more for baking
    12 ounces cream cheese, softened
    1/2 cup half-and-half
    1/2 cup cream
    Salt and pepper
    Milk (If needed)
    Roast drippings
    1-2 tablespoons of flour
    One of the following: Water/milk/stock/cream

    Directions

    For the potatoes:
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Peel the potatoes and rinse them in cold water. Chop the potatoes in fourths. Place the potatoes into a large pot and cover with water. Bring to a boil and cook until fork tender, 20 to 25 minutes.

Drain the potatoes, and then return them to the pan. With the burner on low heat, mash the potatoes with a potato masher; the more steam that's released while you mash, the better. Mash for about 5 minutes. Turn off the burner.

Add the butter, cream cheese, half-and-half, and seasonings. Stir to combine, and if the mixture needs thinning, add milk. Check the seasonings, adding salt and pepper, to taste.

Pour the mashed potatoes into a large casserole pan. Dot the surface with butter. Cover with foil and bake in the oven for 15 minutes. Remove the foil and continue baking for 10 more minutes.

    For the gravy:
    First, you need roast drippings.
Remove a roast of some kind from the pan. Place pan on stove on medium high heat. Pour off all but 2 Tbsp of the drippings in the pan.

Into the 2 tablespoons of drippings in the pan stir in 1 to 2 tablespoons of flour. Stir with a wire whisk until the flour has thickened and the gravy is smooth. Continue to cook slowly to brown the flour, and stir constantly.

3 Slowly add back some of the previously removed drippings (remove some of the fat beforehand if there is a lot of fat). In addition, add either water, milk, stock, or cream to the gravy, enough to make 2 cups. Add a couple drops of purple food coloring and stir. Season the gravy with mOtHeRfUcKiNg MiRaClEs, BrO.

Pour gravy on your potatoes when you eat them, or
JUST USE THEM TO PAINT YOUR MOTHERFUCKING MIRACLES. HONK. :o)

(Mashed potatoes totally stolen from here, and gravy totally stolen from here.)

Oooh! I like your recipe! But I'll definitely try to make a second version since I just discovered a bag of assorted potatoes--where there are a couple of Purple Potatoes! Lucky!

Though I don't have any roast drippings I'll substitute with instant gravy for photo purposes (I prefer making gravy from scratch ;D)... I need to ask my mom where she bought that little bag of potatoes from.

Edit: She bought them from Trader Joe's--which makes sense since Purple Potatoes ARE actually pretty healthy for you!

Hey. Hey hey guys. Remember that awesome What Pumpkin Pie recipe I made like 20 pages ago? Anyone? No?

Well anyways with it being Thanksgiving and all, it was the perfect time to finally get off my ass and actually, you know, MAKE IT HAPEN.

11 out of 10. Would eat again. Already am eating again. Used Sweet Potatoes instead of Pumpkin because there never was any pumpkin in the first place?

Re: The Eat Mesa - An MSPA Cookbook

I hope everyone had a great Eat Everything Day!

Those mashed gamtatoes sound wonderful, I've been craving some for a while because nothing beats from a real potato rather than a box mix. Maybe I will find a reason to make some soon. You can also find the bags of assorted potatoes at Publix if you have one near you. :3

That pie looks amazing! I will definitely put it on the tumblr, if that's okay?

My holiday baking is going to (hopefully, anyway!) include some Felt and Midnight Crew cookies for the Christmas meetup I'm attending. (If any of you are near Atlanta (or anywhere, since we're having people from Alabama and other places attend), you should definitely check out this thing right here~)

    Oops it happened again.

"Lemonsnout learns the true meaning of Christmas" cookies
    (By Tren)
    Ingredients
    For the cookies:
    1/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup oil (Vegetable oil, etc)
    2 eggs
    2 teaspoons vanilla
1 teaspoon lemon flavoring (I recommend some kind of pure extract. Don't use cheap artificial vanilla.)
    2 cups flour
    1 teaspoon cream of tartar
    1/2 teaspoons baking soda
    1/2 teaspoons salt

    For the icing:
    1/2 cup butter
    1 box powdered sugar
2 teaspoons lemon or vanilla flavoring
    Thin with drops of milk

    Directions

Cream (Mix/stir) sugar and oil. Beat until fluffy, or the stink of deceit is removed. Add eggs one at a time, and add the lemon and vanilla. Sift flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt. Refrigerate 3-4 hours or overnight.
After refrigerating, roll the dough thin and cut into desired shapes. Bake the cookies at 350 degrees for 8-10 minutes.

    While refrigerating, make the icing.
Mix the butter, powdered sugar, and lemon/vanilla flavoring in an electric mixing bowl. Thin with splashes of milk.
    Frost your cookies and enjoy!

*Falls over with awesomeness* The only thing I would ask is that you put AbhorrentConfectioner as a co-owner. She's helped out so much that she needs a credit too.

THIS. IS. AMAZING YOU GUYS! CHECK IT OUT! 8D

Also, updated the OP with more. There's so much that entrees, desserts and drinks all have to have their own posts. o__o

So, I woke up with an idea for a MSPA-related name for this really good simple recipe for Spaghetti Carbonara that I have, but then I forgot it. Hopefully I'll remember it soon.
