    It's an alternate recipe, Paladinfoster.
I, for one, intend on making it.

I thought it would be fun to have a pumpkin pie recipe that really puts the "What" in "What Pumpkin?"

e: Glad to hear it, Tren! If you think to take any pictures when you make it, maybe they could accompany the recipe in the OP?

I haven't had much luck with pictures, so I think I'll leave it to someone else.
    You're welcome, though!

Sorry, my mistake. It does actually sound pretty tasty.

I also have an idea for a beverage I'm playing around with. I'll see if I can get it ready by 10/25/11, because that would be really cool.

    Grilled Jegus Sandwiches
    (By Hydrothermal)
    Ingredients
2-3 slices of cheese (I use American)
2 slices of some kind of bread
    Butter
    Directions
    1. Butter one side of each slice of bread
    2. Put your cheese between the non-buttered sides
    3. Drop that shit in a frying pan and put it on a burner
    4. Use a spatula to periodically flip the sandwich
    5. Cook until the cheese is melted and the bread is crispy
Notes: If you are using a non-stick pan, use a rubber spatula. Otherwise, it will scrape the magic non-stick stuff off. Also, gas burners work best. I have been told that these are delicious, but only 2 people besides myself have even tried them. :I

Pictures coming at some point in the paradox future!

How's everyone doing? Having fun after the big OopDoop? Feeling stuffed after making some Nanchos and Fiesta Dick's Frioles with a chaser of Plot Shit? Sounds like a good time, man, good time...

I hope you guys are following the Eat Mesa tumblr, there's a new (well, for tumblr...) recipe every day! And you should totally take pictures/ record a video/ whatever of your experiences with the recipes, since that's fun and stuff.

    Blood of the Sufferer
    (By PaladinFoster)
    Ingredients
-Cherry soda(I used Cheerwine, but the stuff is only available in the Carolinas and Virginia. Cherry Faygo gets you bonus points.)
    -Orage soda.
    -Ginger ale.
    -Red food coloring.
    Directions
In a tall glass, mix 8 ounces of cherry soda, 2 ounces orange soda, and 2 ounces ginger ale. Add red coloring if it doesn't seem red enough. I only needed one drop, but different brands of soda have different mixes of dyes.

Serve cold with ice and a straw, if desired.

Oh, I've never actually spent any time in Virginia that wasn't deep in the wilderness. I'll fix that.

The more Faygo you can get in there, the better.

Re: The Eat Mesa - An MSPA Cookbook

Tried making some Cruxite Eggnog today since I have procured a supply of Red Hots from this year's Halloween haul. Couldn't get the stuff as finely ground as I wanted, and not all of it dissolved like it should have, but it still tastes great.

Now I just hope the vodka in this thing will keep me from getting preposterously sick from the egg in it...

I'm not puking my guts out, and I don't feel sick at all, so I'm going to chalk that Cruxite Eggnog recipe up as a success. I just need a better way of crushing Red Hots.

Maybe melt them onto a sheet of wax paper, let them cool into a flat glob/sheet/patty, and then crush them? I don't know how "squishy" they are, but that might work. If that's hard enough, you could even try using a mortar and pestle. You could also try to find a harder spicy cinnamon candy all together.

The problem is not that they're too chewy to crush, just that they're so small they tend to just jump out from underneath the hammer I was crushing them with.

Re: The Eat Mesa - An MSPA Cookbook

If you have a meat pounder/tenderizer (surprisingly, it's safe to search either phrase on google!), that would do the job. Otherwise, try putting them in a baggie and crushing them with a good sized rock or brick. Sounds ghetto, but it really works.

Don't have a meat grinder, and the bag with the brick(in my case a hammer, then a paint can when that didn't work well) was what I used. Damn things just shoot out from underneath it, and next thing I know I'm tearing holes in the bag.

Depending on the quantity you want to crush, might a blender or food processor work? You'd probably have to use a lot of the candies, but you could always keep them for later use...

I'm trying to remember why the red hots need to be crushed. You can always go the way of how you make candy flavored vodka: Soak them bitches in booze til they dissolve, strain with a coffee filter, red hot booze.

You only have to soak the redhots for a few hours, over night is best though.

Calling the name Red Miles. This cookbook is lacking in noodles (at least, the tumblr is). Will edit this post with the recipe once I get it down.

I feel like there ought to be a SBaHJ-themed porkchop recipe.
Just gonna put that out there. 8^y
