>Baralys initiate sloppy makeouts with the psion to seduce it to your side.
YES. Scratch my idea, having a sloppy makeout with a psion that you know nothing about and possibly accidentally being consumed by it again is definitely a good idea. No seriously, I wanna see what happens
Um, ok. While I won't say my lack of updating isn't partly for the usual reasons (being busy and being lazy), there's a more serious one too. The computer I use to draw Exhatch is literally coming apart at the seams. Sooooo... while I decide what I'm doing about that, please satisfy all your Exhatch-related cravings (hey, I can dream, right?) by asking a yet-to-be-introduced character questions: http://exhatch.tumblr.com/
I'll repost the existing questions and answers in the spoiler below. Feel free to ask stuff either in this topic or on the tumblr.
Hello, my friends.
If nobody minds particularly, I will be taking over answering your questions for the time being. Though our time has not quite come, and I have not personally met our little green ghost and friends, I am of utmost confidence that the answers I provide will be more than satisfactory.
Shall we begin?
Derb, show us one of your favorite combat moves.
Derb is the bug one, correct? He does not seem to, in fact, possess a single combat move. Perhaps vomiting fungal particulate can be classified as such, but only by those possessing standards far less lofty than mine.
>Everybody, individually: Show us the coolest trick in your book.
Baralys, the green ghost himself, is undoubtedly enamored with that First Rite of his… and rightly so (pun, as always, unintended). Not something we would know anything about, however, my friends.
Swifle seems to have learned to conjure Ethereal Weapons. This is admittedly impressive in one so young, especially as she learned to do so before a sapient member of the group. In retrospect, however, I suppose it was inevitable. She is by far the one in closest resonance with Baralys. Not that we’d know anything about that, either.
Derb, I’m sure, would answer this question with the aforementioned vomiting of fungal particulate. Moving on.
Mel, ah, now this is an interesting one. The most actively bloodthirsty of the group by nature, and her Cephal has all gone towards new manifestations instead of evolutionary potentials. I will most definitely be keeping a close eye on this one. It’s just too bad her resonance is lower than that of Swifle.
To continue that thought, Aven seems to resonate with Mel more than with Baralys. Not a bad thing, I suppose, but somewhat unusual in non-sapient creatures. Aven does not appear to have any cool tricks in her metaphorical book.
Wrayt and Dewa, the intelligent creatures of the party (and I use both terms loosely), are from a species called the Kiarta that naturally manifest mental abilities. Wrayt is above average at it already. Dewa is not.
She is, in fact, a waste of space.

…”bluevortex”, is it? Tell me, have you been Stargazing lately? Don’t worry if you can’t comprehend my meaning, simply understand this: listen to me, and all will be well.
Do you understand?
Are you watching from above? Or should you be looking from the abysses? Perhaps your presence lies within one of these intriguing creatures? Nice to meet you.
Ah, my dear friends… you don’t remember anything, do you. I had suspected as much, but to see my suspicions confirmed… it pains me. I am, of course, one of you.
…I suppose I have no choice but to, for the time being, bear the transient burden of leadership.
My “presence”, as it were, lies in the same location as yours and our fellows. Most definitely not from “above”, and the abysses are not places with which I am well acquainted. We are as free to wander our domain as we’ve always been, though you may not recall how to do so. Our minds are not as constrained as those of these intriguing, as you put it, creatures.
Nice to meet you, I suppose, though I’m sure we have crossed paths before.
I am Kaamos.
My goal with this character is to be directly interactive. He'll remember you by name and previous questions you've asked. Etc etc etc...
OMG! I figured out how to decode what the cyan psion says!
Now, before I forget... ndlll skxp means hello wisp*. The letters all go down one. If it's impossible to go down one on the keyboard to the one you want, then it stays the same. EG: If you want h, you type in N (one below on the keyboard). If you want P, you still get P (No letter below it on the keyboard). k nzvd nl lkvd!
It's slightly flawed, though; with L, you're unsure of whether it goes up or not. Still awesome!

Accidental double post. Oh well, I needed to post that last batch of questions anyway:

I have not had the oh so exquisite pleasure of becoming acquainted with any stars.
Other than, of course, the one we orbit… and that was, luckily, quite a very long time ago. Don’t worry, my protective measures keep us all very safe.

Were you turned into a psion 1003 times, or turned into a sun 1003 times, or what? I take it you don't remember your other iterations, but how do you know this is your 1004th iteration? Also, what's it like being possessed Wrayt?
I suppose I’m somewhat qualified to answer these questions.
Being possessed is, I would imagine, a highly unpleasant experience. I shudder to think what turning over one’s will to another would entail.
I believe iterations are the pretentious idea used by Wisps to measure time. They cannot conceive of anything other than in terms of how it relates to them. I am unsure how you reached the conclusion that Baralys was on his 1004th, but it most certainly does not mean he was ever a sun or a Psion.
If a Psion can become a Wisp, I would take an utmost interest in learning of the process.
Similarly, if there was a way I might discover what happens to stars when they die, I would also take an utmost interest in learning of the process.
Kaamos, be ye a true buccaneer? Or be ye what we name a God? Stop wastin' me time an' put somethin' in th' box, if ye don't be wantin' t' end up in Davy Jones' Locker. Arrr!
I’m afraid I’m not familiar with the term “buccaneer”, nor with your unfortunately outlandish method of speech. If you wish to inquire about my identity, then I have already told you that despite your loss of memory you all and I are the same. If I seem Godlike to your limited gaze, that is quite alright. One might say being Godlike is somewhat of a long-term goal of mine.
Now, to which “box” and “locker” do you refer? I’d love to meet this Davy Jones entity.
Kaamos, do the creatures do as they please, while having actions suggested by Baralys, or is everything they do a direct thought of Baralys?
Ah, the question of the free will of those bound to a Wisp. This is a large topic, and one that interests me greatly. I will consent to speak briefly upon it.
From what I understand, some Wisps do indeed attempt to control every single aspect of their links, arrogant species that they are. Most fail, some succeed: it takes great mental effort. I suppose if, hypothetically, a Wisp recruited only one creature and spent all their time possessing it, the goal would be accomplished… but no Wisp would ever fail to have less than two links. With two or three links, the customary quantity, a highly mentally powerful Wisp could theoretically use them like puppets. I can absolutely guarantee you, however, that that is not what Baralys is doing. My doubts concerning his mental capabilities aside, he has far too many creatures linked to him to control them 100% of the time. Instead, they are no doubt guided by some constant subconscious ideas (“Mel, Swifle is not food”) and some direct commands (“Mel, carry Wrayt up the ledge”).
The Wisp, however, isn’t even the only telepathic influence on these creatures. Depending on their level of resonance with their Wisp and with each other, a group of links will begin to subconsciously push on one another. Looking at this group in particular, Mel and Aven have a particularly high resonance for each other, and less surprisingly, Swifle does with both Derb and Baralys. I suspect, in fact, that she’s progressed far enough to begin to see a bit of Ether. She can probably see and recognize Baralys, and at least observe other Ethereal beings such as Psions. Wrayt, a sapient being already familiar with psychic powers, could see Baralys outright… but his resonance with the Wisp isn’t high enough to allow him to view Psions as well.
There is a form of direct control used often by most Wisps, one must mention, and that is of course possession. However, the exact details of this process are… sketchy. What appears to happen is that the mind of the physical creature and the mind of the Ethereal Wisp are merged. Is one or the other really in control, or have they combined to form one single entity? If the latter is the case, what triggers a split? Many Wisps swear that they are in full control while in a possessing state, but I wonder.
I do indeed wonder…

I do, and thank you, though it took a few minutes to translate! (who came up with this stupid code idea)
So, I don't have an update yet, but I should have the computer situation sorted out sometime in the next few weeks... I miss watching my story progress.
In the meantime, you're still free to ask Kaamos questions over here. There's one I still need to answer concerning Kiarta culture. http://exhatch.tumblr.com/
Ah, good, good. From my perspective, though, you're the ones who have been gone.
If you'd like to know what's been going on, I came to an understanding with that Psion. Mel seems to like having it...or her, maybe...inside her mind. They both seem to enjoy tearing things apart and eating them, if nothing else.
After that, we kept moving through the cave for a while, and I think we're almost there.
To recap: We're going to the home of the three-legged guys to get some kind of flower, as requested by one particular three-legged guy in return for teaching me about Psions. And the complicated part is that said three-legged guys hate the zero-legged guys, the Kiarta, which is what Wrayt and Dewa are.
So, that about sums up - oh, wait. About that pink Psion.
