Also, Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon was my favorite game on the N64, and the music was catchy as all hell.

There is one that sticks out in my mind as being a generally awesome dungeon theme. Corridor of Time from Dark Cloud. That game had some of the best music.



Advance Wars also has its own good music, especially Days of Ruin.

Not a surprising choice, but Chrono Cross is easily my favorite video game soundtrack


For a tentacle demon from another dimension, his theme is startlingly groovy.


I'd post every "that sad melodic track that plays at a pivotal scene" from Final Fantasy but that's a lot of space and You're Not Alone has already been posted anyway

e: and I just checked out that playlist in the OP - the folks that put The Bouncer, Arc the Lad, Simcity 3000, and MMZ Mythos stuff on there are gentlemen and scholars.

Oh god Nier has one of the best soundtracks I've had the pleasure of listening too. Bought the whole thing off ITunes before I even played the game itself.

Kirby's Epic Yarn also has a terrific soundtrack. Very textured and jazzy. If you've played Warioland: Shake It! the same guy composed both soundtracks, and they have very similar styles.

the psx/ds extras are kind of all of the place and some names may be off due to my wanting to get the soonest-starting videos, so sorry about that; also, high-quality videos cannot be embedded, though i never noticed the difference anyway

also of note is that battle 2 and singing mountain were not included in the game (though i think battle 2 made it into the ds version), and that the beginning of frog's theme was never released outside of japan until a bonus cd i think (hence the "extras mode"?), so i used the non-japan version in place of the first

and i don't have the snes/japanese/whatever version so i don't know what the fuck is going on in determination, is that lavos in the background

That zelda music is awesome. Tal Tal Mountain and Dark World ftw. Hell, most of the alttp/LA soundtrack is amazing.
