Those fingerless gloves are AWESOME. Holy crap, this bunny is looking more and more like he ought to be a character from like King of Fighters or something.

He's going to beat the stuffing out of you!
Waterbottles is next if I recall correctly.
Hee hee. Buddybottles.
Esrever, you should get Rick Scott's autograph on the bunny.
If you don't, I hate life.
Oh.
Oh.

yo what's up with the MBM
like i know we picked out dates but
do we have a location
is anyone actually planning on going
???
(for the record i am planning on being there i just need to know where "there" is and we should start making plans so people can be sure to make it)
I'm sure wherever it is you guys will hear me there, even if I'm not there
*vague mysterious post*
I'm sorry about not commenting on it for so long.
I'm not going to be able to go, so I stopped planning (although planning for the specific events was actually finished a while ago)
I'm really sorry about this. I should have said something sooner, but I was holding out on something that ended up not happening.
If someone else would like to take the mantle, or plan it instead, be my guest. You all should still have fun even if I can't plan it anymore.
I'll be sending the bunny off in about week. Probably to someone in the D.C. area, so that it may attend Otakon, then be given to the final recipient.
The bunny looks so fancy! Like a suave and sophisticated Super Mario.
Oh man, you can't go this year?
I'd be willing to take on some planning duties? I mean most of it is planned already but just organization-wise, getting the word out about it (I think we need more people coming than there currently are), and all that. I don't really know the location all that well though, is there anyone who lives in that general area who'd be willing to help me out with choosing places to meet, transport advice for people, that stuff?
What's up with ndoto and nyankokimi, i know there's moving and stuff happening, but were they planning on going / helping it to make happen?
Like I said, I'll be in the area, but I'm not in a place to be organizing this kind of thing. If people plan a meetup, I can get there, but it seems like we're getting a little close at this point?
Once something is planned I'm happy to help with spreading the word (forums, tumblr, etc).
I don't think it would be fair to push responsibility on anyone.
That's why I was just going to cancel it, because I didn't want to push responsibility on someone, but I also didn't want to say "No, not allowed to do one yourself" in case there was someone that wanted to take over. However, nyankokimi and ndoto are busy enough as is without all the moving stuff happening, so I'm not going to and I don't want to push anything on them.
For now, it's cancelled.
I'm sorry, I just can't afford it. If you want to take over organizing, like I said above, if you want to, go for it. But I don't want to push it on you.
I will also try and send out the bunny before Otakon. Unfortunately, I've been sick, am not at home as the air conditioning broke, and also can't drive the bunny around, as my car's check engine light is on.
Otakon's not for another three weeks, so you've got time.Hope you feel better soon!!
Also, who were you planning on sending it to? I'll be going to Otakon, so I'm an option. Mark (Shadolith/Steamlord313) might be another good option, or ndoto if he's going? (no idea if he is or not, i know he did last year??)
Also, there's a tumblr post I saw. Lcheeseboy, was that your doing?
Yep. I guess I'm organizing it now? Activities and stuff were planned before waterbottles had to drop it, so it should really just be a matter of drumming up enough interest, being there days-of, and leading people to zoos/museums. (If I am missing something obvious from that list please let me know, I'm new at this)
So I am provisionally saying that it is no longer cancelled (pending interest by more than 3 people). Any objections?
will the blog and/or tumblr be updated as time goes on?
just curious
not prying or anythin
I'm not at home, and do not have access to my regular computer (with my passwords saved and whatnot), and I probably won't be back for a while, so no.
My ultimate goal is to not use Tumblr, because it's a pain in the ass to use. You have to save each picture off of Bowman's site, then reupload them to tumblr, which has a photo limit of ten. My ultimate goal is to get a squarespace site which has the easiest data import ever (and can import from Movable Type, which has the problem of not allowing more than one photo of being uploaded at a time).
However, squarespace, as inexpensive as it is, is still about $100 a year, so that isn't an option right now.
I'm sorry everyone, we are super swamped right now and actually do not have a reliable source of Internet aside from when I'm at work or the occasional Starbucks, which is why I haven't been around much.Double unfortunately, some family stuff has popped up that will result in us not being in town for Otakon this year (although the brief upside of this is that we are actually going to be in the same place at the same time as Lieutenant Fish). Basically though, things are going substantially wonkier right now than I originally anticipated, and it's kind of thrown all our summer plans in the air and we're not quite sure where things are gonna land just yet!
I truly and sincerely regret that we are not in a place right now where we can take better charge of the Massive Bunny Meetup and try to get things organized. I'm very, very sorry.
Don't be sorry! It seems that too much stuff is going on all around, so maybe it's better off this way. I think if we tried to force it, things would be awful/way stressful for everyone.
I missed the question of who I'm sending it too. I'm going to send it to Zuki. She won't be attending Otakon, but will be going to the outdoor meet ups (probably? I need to double check). I think the plan is to then have her pass it off to an Otakon then it would go to the final recipient.
For what it's worth, nyankokimi and I would definitely be interested in attending still, provided our schedules end up allowing for it. I definitely greatly appreciate you taking up the reins on this, L!
I'm not sure whether or not it needs to be said, but the temperatures around this area have been beyond ridiculous lately (this Saturday it will be 104 with a heat index of at least 110 thanks to the humidity) so for anyone who is planning on visiting the area for the MBM and/or Otakon, 1) dress appropriately, 2) wear sunscreen, and 3) drink PLENTY OF WATER.
