The former because it elaborates on the characters actually reflecting on what they've done and not merely accepting themselves as mere pawns in Sburb's game, and like Karkat said to John a while back, that everything was inevitable and they couldn't do a thing about it, it was wired into their very creation and existence, and in the end there was nothing they could have said done to change it. Inevitably seems to be painted into their lives on nearly every level, except for how they feel or renounce it.

And the latter because it shows the growth Terezi has overgone in these 2 years. I haven't felt that kind of remorse and regret since Vriska's revealing about herself and her culture to John last act.
