Thread: Pirates vs. Ninjas RPG: The Forum Adventure (Back for Real!)

  1. #1776

Re: Pirates vs. Ninjas RPG: The Forum Adventure (Girl on Girl Kissing)

    >TLL: Test the limits of her trust! Have LS throw you.

TLL: Wanna see how far you can throw me then?
LS: It's just an expression, Laverne. If you really want to go visit with my sister, I'm not gonna stop you. I have important plans to work on, but make sure you find someone to show you the Elder's house. I don't want you getting lost. I'll meet you there in an hour. Should I give you a note so you don't forget?
    TLL: Hey, Ninja Girl?
    LS: Yes?
TLL: Do you ever worry you're becoming your mother?

    >LS: Wonder if you are becoming your mother.

LS: Ha. I wish. If I was my mother, this current situation would be a non-issue. This is the kinda of thing she handles all the time.
TLL: But wouldn't you be fighting yourself? Seems like that might make things difficult.
LS: True, but my mother would find some way to make this beneficial for both sides.
TLL: Well, maybe you could do that.
    LS: Doubtful.
    TLL: Why not?
LS: I'm just nowhere near her level. She's smart, beautiful, cunning, strong, graceful, and independent. She's the real deal, Laverne.
TLL: For someone you're so afraid of, you spend a lot of time singing her praises.
LS: Being the daughter of a major ninja leader is complicated. Why did you ask anyway?

    >TLL: Wonder if you are becoming LS's mother.

LS: Do you worry that you're becoming your father?
    TLL: Not... Exactly...

TLL: So uh... Yeah. Meet you at the Elder's?
LS: Yeah. Don't do anything dumb or get yourself hurt.
TLL: Alright, Ninja girl. I'll be careful.

    >TLL: Buy something needlessly expensive.

TLL: How did you get them so red?
So Not Pete It's Painful: Alche- I mean, love, care, magic, and fairy dust.
TLL: Oh. That makes sense. Well, I'll take them.
So Not Pete It's Painful: So. Got a hot date?
    TLL: Something like that.

    Flowers: Explode...with emotion!

TLL: Think about how you're father would act right now. He sounds like a smart guy and probably told you something about relations with the enemy.

    >TLL: Think about how you're father would act right now. He sounds like a smart guy.

Well, your father did always say that pretty girls like pretty flowers.

Always seemed like a pretty old-fashion piece of advice, even for you...

    >Flowers: Explode...with emotion!

...But you guess he was right.

    >LS: Straight to the Elder.

Laverne was supposed to be here by now. Where the Hajime is that big lug? Figures. You knew he'd get lost. Oh well, you just hope he's not doing anything stupid. Oh well, thanks to your keen Hitinja sense of time, you're a few minutes early.

    What to do?

Laverne you two timer! You cease hugging the girl right this instant!
....well it's been an hour so it's too late now :<

LS: You can wait a little bit, just don't be late. What'd you accomplish in the last hour?

    >LS: You're thirsty and you have a few minutes, head back to the fountain and purchase a Refreshing Beverage!

It took you a few minutes to get Pete to sell you something that wasn't toxic or experimental, but you finally got a regular box of juice (you made him taste test it first, of course). You decide to burn some time by relaxing next to the nearest fountain you can find.

    Where could Laverne be?

Knowing him, he's probably waking up in a bathtub full of ice missing a kidney or getting himself cloned into a demon army by one of the local alchemists. That boy is always up to the weirdest things.

Huh... That's weird. You never noticed this Mural before.

    >LS: You can wait a little bit, just don't be late. What'd you accomplish in the last hour?

You guess in some of your hurry to prepare for your mother and taking care of business, you didn't really have time to notice the sights. Sure, you spent the hour scoping the place out for likely angles of attack and possible hidden entrances, but there really are some interesting landmarks around here. It adds an odd charm to the town. It occurs to you that this town of refugees probably has thousands of amazing stories. It's too bad you probably won't be able to stay long enough to hear all of them.

Old Woman: Oh. Do you like that carving? It's one of my favorites.

I can't tell if that's a clock or not. A couple things look like they might or might not be clock hands.

    >LS: Ask if she knows the story behind it.

LS: Heh. I don't suppose it contains the secrets to some hidden power, does it?
Old Woman: I suppose you could put it that way.

    >LS: Listen to her inane chatter, ESPECIALLY if it's about rockets. She'll give you a really cool weapon if you do, trust me.

Old Woman: This carving is a personal inspiration to me. I come here when I need to think. That girl in front is the Guardian of Time herself; resurrected from the previous guardian. The girl behind her is an earlier incarnation; an immature and violent child sharing her body. The time will come when our timeline will be broken by a great demon, and it will be up to her, her darker side, and her companions to set things straight. Fate will do its best to break her, but her spirit is truly unbreakable. I have no doubt she'll find a way to save us all.
LS: She's so young. How old is she?
Old Woman: She will be 13 when the events of that carving happen. So young, and yet so much rests on her shoulders.
LS: That just doesn't seem fair.
Old Woman: It is what she was born to do.

LS: What if she's not up to it? What if she's not strong enough? How can she live up to the guardians that came before her?
Old Woman: I'm sure she'll manage. Destiny doesn't often pick those that are incapable of their path.
LS: ...But she's only 13, and yet so many lives depend on her.
Old Woman: It is quite the burden, but there are many that would support her in her time of need. There are many that would give their lives for her.

LS: BUT WHY!? Isn't every life precious? How can she possibly justify all those die for her while she still lives? What if she makes a decision that kills thousands. How can she live with herself?
Old Woman: You are right. Every life is precious. It is not the individual life that is more valuable than her own. It is that people would fight for a goal or dream. As a leader, it is her job to make sure those lives are put to their best use. Without her guidance, their sacrifice could be for nothing.
LS: Doesn't she feel the weight of those lives on her own guilt though? How does she get rid of that nagging feeling?
Old Woman: The weight of leadership is a heavy one indeed. It is an important burden to bear though. A leader that doesn't feel the weight of the lives in her hands, doesn't understand their value and importance. It is only because she can understand the sacrifices she makes that she has the right to lead her people. She cannot have their trust without it.
LS: But what if she's not strong enough? What if she's not smart enough? What if she's not good enough? How can she get there? How can she justify the sacrifices she makes if she's not capable of using those lives to their best use?
Old Woman: Strength is not the most important thing, child. The most important thing in all the world is deciding what is most important to her. Once she sees that, her heart will give her enough strength. Her Will can shine through and people will be drawn to her dream.
LS: -BUT I DON'T KNOW WHAT I WANT! THAT'S THE WHOLE REASON I RAN A-

    >TLL: Dynamic Entry

    TLL: Whooooooooooooooa.
Old Woman: Oh dear. We have a guest.
    LS: *sigh* Great timing, Laverne.

    >Elder: Dynamic Entry

LS: Where have you been, Laverne? I've been looking for you. Do you realize that it's almost time to meet the Elder?
TLL: Sorry, ninja girl. I was... busy with things.
LS: Unless that involves figuring out a way to fix our current conundrum, I hardly doubt it is more important than meeting with the Elder. We can't be late. We need to make as good of an impression as possible or she won't listen to us.
Old Woman: Oh. Somehow, I don't think that will be a problem. I was running a bit late myself, Life's Sunset.
