    No.. I like Lightning Strike.
    or Dark Fog.
    or maybe Preemptive Bolt.
...and other various definitive translations of the phrase.

If we have to go with the 'Dark Smoke Puncher' reference, let's at least change it up a little more than just adding 'ette' to the end. How about "Dusk Mist Pummeler"?

    > Dark Smoke Punchette

No. You already know someone named that.

... And you don't exactly want to be mistaken for her.

That's right. Your ninja name is Life's Sunset. Hard to believe you forgot such a wonderful ninja name.

After all. You don't just have brains, you have beauty as well. You handle yourself with a poise and grace that borders on a beautiful ballet (not that you want to be one of those dancing pirates). To your enemies, you're their Life's Sunset; a beautiful and vibrant ending.

With your combined smarts and charm, there's nothing you can't do.

Well, okay. You're not exactly the most agile Ninja, and you take a hit even worse than the average ninja, but you have to sacrifice SOMETHING to be this awesome.

It's finally all come back to you. Your name is Life's Sunset, and today is your 18th birthday, and like the 17 preceding it, you've found yourself kidnapped by pirates. Seems to happen to you a lot. You always manage to make it out though.

You have a variety of ancestral family weapons that you carry and hide in various areas. This is the Sunset Slicer. A sword made specifically for you on your 12th Birthday. It's special trait is that it deals extra damage to all evil foes you might strike down. It fits you like a glove, and you're a surgeon with it. The previously mentioned Hairpin Blade is another one of your family's ancestral weapons.

It's been two years since you left your village to become an adventurer. You hunt down treasure and fight powerful foes all in the name of freedom and self-fulfillment. Some may call you selfish, but you just couldn't stand the thought of being a guard for the Magistrate your entire life.

Something seems strange this year though. Something's different about today. You have the feeling that this year is going to be one to remember.

    What do you do next?

Nha, it's too easy to stab through the floor, punching is better.

Re: Pirates vs. Ninjas RPG: The Forum Adventure

Look around now that you're free.

You really did a number on that porthole.

There's a staircase that leads up to a cellar door. Seems to lead to the surface.

There's the same boring old bucket and ceiling lamp. You briefly wonder why they decided to put the light right on it like that.

...And there's a large wooden door. Pretty ornate for an old pirate ship.

    >Punch the floor and go down to the next level.

Using your super-advanced Hitinja tactical logic, you deduce that the two doors leading out of the room are obviously traps. By busting through the floor and jumping down a level, you can avoid the guards entirely. Plus it will look cooler.

You don't really have any Hitinja techniques that apply here. So, you just decide to punch straight through the floor.

Unfortunately, you forgot to account for your abysmally low Body score. You suddenly remember that Body doesn't just reflect your ability to take a hit, but your general strength as well. You're not sure why you forgot that. This would be a piece of cake if you knew the technique "Hammer Meet Nail", but you are neither a Craftsmen nor a Wanderer.

After nearly breaking your own hand, you manage to put a small crack in the board.

    >Stab the floor and go down to the next level.

You don't know why you didn't just do this to begin with. It's not like there was anyone to show off to. Your sword makes short work of the floor as it pierces straight through. Wait... What's that blue stuff?

Turns out you're already on the bottom floor of the boat. You handle the situation with rational thinking and poise. Well, as much rational thinking and poise as you can muster in a situation like this.

The boat is rapidly filling with water and will likely sink in due time because of it. What do you do?

Use bucket to throw water back into hole.

Calm down. This ship is made of wood, and even steel ships (which are less naturally bouyant) take time to sink when they get holed. A small leak like that will probably take hours to sink the pirate ship.

Who cares. Not your ship. You just got to get out in time.

Actually, the water level is rising pretty fast for a wooden ship. This must not be a very well-constructed boat. Still, you probably have at least half an hour as long as your sword continues to plug the leak.

Use bucket to throw water back into hole.

Not only does your poor body score make keeping up with the leak impossible, but your keen Hitinja intellect tells you that throwing it in the hole at the bottom of the boat would be pointless.

You attempt to throw it out the porthole instead, but the artist can't draw splashing water well enough. It instead looks like the Bucket is shooting a beam attack.

    >Grab your sword and go to the deck of the ship.

On closer inspection, this door is barred from the outside with a rather large wooden plank. Either there's another way out or someone outside has to let you out.

Cut apart the door with your sword.

You take your sword and channel it into a lightning fast strike. A bright flash of crimson signals the door's end and washes out the background. It's pretty sweet.

Three seconds later. The Door falls off its hinges.

A rather weak-looking pirate is standing there with his jaw open at this turn of events. He seems more shocked than angry.

Throw an eggshell with itching powder in it at the pirate!

Well, since you did two suggestions that I can make so quickly and don't really effect your ability to try anything else...

    >Slash his eyepatch off, leaving his skin completely unscathed.

You keen Hitinja instincts tell you to strike the first blow before he can react. You give him a warning shot to see if he'll run away.

He just continues to stare at you. Weird. Apparently both of his eyes are good.

Throw an eggshell with itching powder in it at the pirate!

No time to think about that though. You follow it up with an itching powder cloud to the face. He gets it in his eyes too. Looks painful.

    What do you do now?

Re: Pirates vs. Ninjas RPG: The Forum Adventure

Hit him with a flurry of punches so fast they can barely be seen, while shouting "ATATATATATATATATATATA" continuously. When you reach 100 punches, stop and say "100-Crack Fist Of The Setting Sun!", accompanied by everything being shaded in blue for a second.

If you had sufficient Dr. Inja skills, his head would messily explode after precisely 10 seconds, but even lacking said skills, it should be enough to take him out.
