The space under the avatar just seems kinda empty without it and the join date.
In the least offensive way possible.

Yeah I just noticed this today. I saw someone's post I didn't recognize, and usually in order to see if they are new I just check their post count. But now I have to navigate away to see it, which isn't a big deal but it's still a few more steps. And now there's no way I'm ever going to notice when I hit post milestones. which could be the point, but this place has a tradition (or so I gather) of saying, oh hey look that was my 2000th post, cool. But most people aren't going to check their own profile every day to see where their posts are at.

i check my own profile to see how many page views it gets

but post count? yeah that'd be incidental at best

Actually, we've fielded this question so many times that I'm seriously considering asking NAS to just run a script to set everyone's settings to Standard Options.
That's the way it is now.

If you were using the WYSIWYG editor or wanted the basic, you'll have to set it back.

So really, NAS, in making the forums "streamlined", you have made them less so.

I think the point is that it's less wear on the server for something that is at best a point of trivia.

I really don't think that is a pressing issue at this moment; the forums have been very fast for me for the past few months. As far as I know, those things don't really put that much extra strain on the servers.
    Yo.

    Re: MSPA Classic Theme

I agree that it looks empty without post count and join date but it's not really that huge of a deal

One question I do have: are images not automatically resized on this theme? Like I checked the fanart thread and some of the arts were stretching the page again, where they would be automatically resized to prevent that on the other theme IIRC.

We have the choice of sticking to the current theme of course, right? The option to switch between them will remain, etc...

Hey, this is awesome! Thanks a lot =D!

Uhh, one little thing that I noticed is that the breadcrumbs at the bottom of the page are a bit... untouchy. On my computer, I am forced to click on the very top of the letters. So either my computer is just wonky or it's something that everyone is experiencing. Is there a way to make the entire word clickable, just like the topping breadcrumbs? Also, the "Reply to Thread" seems to block the bottom breadcrumb. Thanks a bunch for reading! I am a huge fan of the new theme. Well played, NotASenator!

I think its a lot better that way, the avatars are big enough already.
Its also great to have that taken away IMO, you cant really distinguish an old member from another one who just joined, you are more likely to treat them with the same amount of respect

    Also,

Still really miss Spoiler tagging in the quick reply box though

And from the URL of the infraction banner I found that of the jailed avatar too (which I had not seen before this point):
    [U4G] OREG (A space adventure)
Starring Opabiniataurs, because humanoids are boring.

It was always there but the link wasn't a different color. I'm not sure it works correctly though.

Can we bring back horizontal image scaling? I miss it already.

... ALSO THIS THEME IS AWESOME. Maybe I should've said that in a different order.

I'm certainly not going to miss "This is my 1200th post!" celebrations, but post count and/or join date are handy when looking at people you don't know. Personally I'd put join date back in (since it is handy to see how new someone is at a glance) but leave out post count.

Ok, there's a lot of different opinions out there, and it's becoming clear to me that I (and probably NaS) can't really predict where people are going to fall on this issue, so I'm making a poll. Please respond no matter how you feel, I want to get a true indication of the demographics.

That little plus thing that shows you replied to a thread is too hard to see.

Kudos, NaS! The new (old) theme looks super! And Michael... don't even get me started on how much those infraction & jail pics crack me up. It's actually kinda heartening to see a forum staff who knows how to keep a bit of humor even in its doling out of (mild) punishments!

(Seriously though, how long have posts before July 2005 been blank like this? Has it been this way for ages and I never noticed? Maybe I've just never gone archive-digging that far before, I dunno. Kind of unfortunate, though.)
