    MSPA Classic Theme

For the time being, I'm opening up the MSPA Classic Theme for you guys to use.

By going to General Settings on your settings page or by using the drop down menu at the bottom of the page, you can select MSPA Classic and start taking a look at the new theme.

It's not finished, there's still some style stuff and some other things in there that I'm working on.

Most notably is that the version on the live server doesn't have the changes to the standard posting form (new color palette, background color selector, a few other goodies I haven't announced yet) and the new search page is not in place.

    Some changes you will notice:
    - Quoted posts are different and no longer italicized
    - Link to MSPA at the top of the forum
    - Images no longer resize, and post containers resize to fit oversize images (this means don't abuse this feature with huge images)
    - Jailed users have an avatar to indicate they are jailed
    - Infractions now have a large graphic to indicated that the user was infracted for the post.

These last two were designed by Michael, and are awesome.

It should be noted that I've turned on the little red and yellow cards for all themes as well, so you will see those below the posts next to the report button, with a link to the infraction details.

Let me know what you think, if you love it, hate it, find problems with it, etc.

EDIT: I forgot to mention, this will eventually become the forum default. I will be leaving the current main theme here until I build out some other color themes to go with this one, but all others moving forward will be built as child themes of this one. That's so updates and code changes don't have to be done on tons of themes. The current default theme will become obsolete and will be removed when there's a dark variant of the new theme.

Oh, and please consider this a beta test. Try to be thorough with your feedback and screenshots of problems are appreciated.

Also, I've tried to optimize this as much as possible, if you notice it is loading faster, let me know.

    One note:

In this version of the theme, there is still the signature guide next to each signature. It will be going away for everyone but modmins, but for now, you get to see how big your sig should be (at most).

When it launches, this will be in the signature preview screen in your profile for you to judge it before you save it.

Looks good! One thing I've noticed though is that the breadcrumbs at the bottom only have a tiny space where they register the mouse is there. They'll only work if it's right at the top of the box.

Hmm, that's not the case for me here on Chrome. What browser are you using?

Didn't get the mouse in it, but it only registers at the top line of the highlighted box.

I have the same problem on Firefox. Also, this is only a problem with the breadcrumbs at the bottom of the page.

Ok, I'll see what I can do about it.

I'm actually having that issue in Chrome as well. They drift behind the "Reply to Thread" button too.

That being said the style looks very crisp and bright! I like it, though I might stick with the other one.

I'm having issues with the breadcrumbs as well. They only register when the mouse is over a few pixel horizontal space along the top border. This is also on Chrome.

Also, the +Reply to Thread button overlaps with the first breadcrumb. The dark grey also looks sort of out of place at the bottom of the page. I would suggest the navy used along the bottom, but I'm not a graphic designer.

That makes me think it's a positioning issue. I'll see if I can replicate it, or just fix it somehow. The way they organize things down there is a bit wonky.

Ok, I see it with the test account. Must have been something I changed recently. When I'm logged in, the mod options push the Reply button down out of the way.

I'm liking this new theme a lot, but in the last thread I replied to, it changed the 'reply title' formatting or what have you. I'm posting to firstly say how great this looks, but secondly to see if this'll happen again.

Edit: Nope, it didn't. Maybe it was because I had the tab up with a Quick Reply before I changed themes, then finished my post. It looks uniform now though, so don't mind me.

Can you clarify what you mean by reply title formatting?

    Re: MSPA Classic Theme

Ok, so I don't think this is going to be a problem because really who else is going to do this? I had two tabs up in MSPA Style, with a Quick Reply up in one. On the other, I switched to MSPA Classic, then finished my post and hit submit. It ended up looking like this:

alright perfect. This is just what I was going to suggest.
same with the breadcrumbs (didn't know thats what they were called. cool.).

man I'm on the verge of being useful but then I find out everyone was useful before me.

    Re: MSPA Classic Theme

This seems like a lot of white space under the quick reply box for two little buttons.

    (this is on firefox btw)

Also, see a link to the main site got added at the top. I was wondering if you were going to add more links there. If so links to each major sub-forum would be a pretty good guess I guess?

Edit: it seem to do it for any divider that uses a form of some sort I guess? It's like this for the preview as well.

Edit2: I bet it's the background color of blockfoot actionbuttons. Not that I'd know without saving a page and messing with it myself.

Wow. The Classic theme's... Bright. and kinda vivid i guess i don't know

The infraction banner's hilarious, and the jailed avatar is pretty amusing, too, I guess.
In the least offensive way possible.

The infraction graphic kind of made my day.

Are there any currently jailed users?? I am very curious about this avatar.

in other news, NAS you are the best!!! this is looking good.

Also, I have the same problem with the breadcrumbs. I'm on a Mac running the latest version of Firefox.
