if you didn't have 75k gold before the patch hit you're going to be in a bad way during cataclysm
^hoarding gold is for whores though
only cool kids blow all their cash as they get it
Also,
Glitches are fun.
I have about 10K atm, across 4 characters. Epic flying and cold weather on 3 of them (the 4th is still level 50). I'm also not entirely happy with the whole patch changes. Like, in general, pretty good. But so many of the small things were tweaked the point where I don't like it... And don't get me STARTED on the tooltips!
There will be a Cataclysm trailer aired tomorrow at 4:15 EDT, during a football game.
Blizzard says it's a cinematic trailer, so it's possible this is going to be the cinematic intro to Cataclysm.
I saw that on the launcher. Also, count another member for the guild, but it will be a new one. I got a time card last week and have been dicking about on my 80 for a while.
I really should get to organizing shit with the guild instead of being lazy.
It's in a good place with bank space and all that, but it's only got 3 or 4 other people, two of which are family. I haven't been spreading the word around much besides here, and most of the people on this forum that are interested in joining are waiting for Cata to come out before they roll a new character, so they can be Goblins or do it entirely in the new world. I do have some alts that could probably level with you though.
I guess I can advertise it as a leveling guild/to-be-raiding-and-maybe-pvp-guild in cata, with knowing what MSPA means being a joining requirement.
Also, when Cata comes out we all gotta pull together and come up with a good tabard, unless you want it to stay as the current "in service to the king" look.
Also got to work towards another timecard, mine runs out on the 30th. Might take a week or two off before renewing though, been spending too much time on the PC between this and Minecraft...
EDIT: Added a list of the characters I'll probably be online under, that way you know who you can whisper.

Obviously one of the card suits. What sort of romantic quadrant do you want the guild to represent?

read my edit, never ever let anybody talk you into something that stupid. it was fucking painful and aggrivating, even after we had the bullshit content on farm and even beat all the hardmodes and had them on farm too.
i think i would have rather artificially inflated a market (probably the arrow market) and then rode the market into the ground so nobody else could make any profit off of it, instead.
(because that would be hella funny and make me way more gold)

No explanation needed.
Been playing the 4.0.1 since it came out on the official servers. And dear gods is it fun. Tankadin is so awesome to play now with the holy power. xD
Zingiber @ Tarren Mill-EU.
It's just a shame the whole thing is a glitchfest now. But it's not so bad that it'd be unplayable. It's more than playable. Just some annoying things like flying ghost mount moves at freaking walking speed..
And psh, who needs gold? Useless stuff. Can get everything you need without it.
I can't wait to see what happens when Varian meets Deathwing.
The collision of chins of those magnitudes could end all life on Azeroth. Throw in Jay Leno and you knock out Draenor, Argus, and every planet in-between.
There can only be so much chin in one place at one time.
He's going to punch that dragon in the face!
I've been in the beta for a few months, and I'm not sure if I should end up buying Cata when it comes out. The endless loop of "Do dailies, get rep, do heroics, get justice points, level up tradeskills, get enchants/gems" is a very real threat for eating my time, that I am fully aware of. My roommate is going to badger me about it, though, with "HEY LET'S DO DUNGEONS LET'S DO BGS AND GET ALL THE POINTS", and leveling characters is such a streamlined and fun experience now...
December is going to be tough.
I Suddenly Don't Understand Anything
Ever try RPing? I started getting into it recently, and it's all types of fun (definitely a good way to get away from the boredom of the daily grind. More social)
I was thinking last night that I may wait a while to get Cataclysm, since I'll be quitting around February to focus on studying, so that gives me hardly any time to play...
If I'm going to RP in an MMO, I'm gonna RP in City of Heroes :V What with the ability to customize... you know. EVERYTHING.
pretty much.
wow is only fun if you're a hardcore player like me, competition owns
Competition is far from what it used to be. I used to this like you too and by personal experience I can tell you that if you're not the great, great majority that lacks the mental capacity to maintain their vital functions and not suck at the same time, chances are that you're either part of the percentage that actually know what they're doing, and eventually get so sick of other player's under-performance that you treat others like garbage. And then there's the whole "I deserve this more than player X because I'm doing better than him!"...
Unless you're talking about PvP. That's a completely different matter, as you can be successful with less than a handful of friends.
But yeah, either I picked the worst server/battlegroup ever, or the social aspect of the game is pretty much dead.
When you get a group through the random dungeon finder, party chat is either empty, or filled up with two or three group members nitpicking at each other.
Socialization outside of guild chat? Unheard of.
Trade chat? If you can get a conversation past the trolls and people who actually use the trade chat for what it was meant for, I suppose there's a chance.
Standing outside your main capital and dueling with people in hopes of starting a convo? Best case situation you get someone saying your class is overpowered.
...Wow. In retrospective, this post wasn't supposed to be as long as it is, and now that I've gotten this out of my system and proof-read it, I don't think I will be renewing my subscription for Cataclysm.

thats why i played in a semi-professional guild where we didnt tolerate anybodies shit, i didnt have to be nice because we would all call eachother out on the stupid shit we did, and the failures.
we would literally compare healing over time graphs in the druid subforums, and get into heated debates and argue for pages and pages, and then find a solution to that problem.
and you gotta have social skills if you wanna be social, i was literally maxing out my chat channel limits at all times, between the required ParadoxDruid channel, ParadoxStandby channel, and all the channels of the in-groups from each guild on the server invited me into.
i love 'trolling' people in trade chat (i fucking hate the word trolling, its so shitty and inane, "durr quit trolling") and im infamous on my server for being the best 'troll'.
and yes, i did treat other people like trash, its a videogame and they should get overthemselves "im a casual, its ok if im bad at the game :downs:"

literally, i only played with the best of the best on my server, and if you wanted to roll w/ us you either had to be good, or have thick skin, even when you were buying a title/mount from us.
That's exactly my problem: I can't stand treating other people like garbage, and I certainly won't stand being treated like garbage (but hey, who would?) but this is a MMORPG, you're supposed to socialize, but not like your average player. Nowadays, people will do whatever they please in their random dungeons because according to them, they're just random nobodies who will probably never be seen again.
What's the point of playing a MMORPG while mercilessly shoving other people and vent your frustrations at them instead of helping them and giving them advice when you can play a single player game and have nobody but yourself to blame for your failures?
Of course it doesn't help when their first response to friendly and polite advice is either "stfu", "fuck off", "i know what im doing" or the genius "its my 15€ a month i play how i want". Nevermind the rest of the group's 60€/135€/360€ a month to decide whether or not to kick him.
EDIT: Just read your second post. My guild was 10-man strict so we had to deal with as few morons as needed, and as such it would be impossible to technically be "The Best" (at least until Cata makes 10 and 25mans the same). My posts aren't around the socializing within the guild, however.
