    that's usually the case, though Pokemafia used IRC for jailer chat. I know of another one, but I can't say since it's ongoing.

    sa has full OOT communication for scum at any time, so we just use a combination of aim and google docs/spreadsheets


    google docs is fuckin fantastic for everything, especially collaborating on setups

    I have this great habit where I post way too actively and jump on everyone with my utterly worthless scumdar. It doesn't even matter if I out myself, because I end up dead anyway.

    It always seems like such a good idea at the time!

    in the spirit of sharing, here is my last big setup ~megaten mafia~


    tbqh it had a lot of problems, but considering it combined some of the bigger ideas from past games (daily decisions, separate of the lynch, limited town OOT communication, un-identical dueling scum teams) and was also uh 38 players it turned out pretty well

    Took me about four seconds of skimming and a list of players I've never heard of to remember that I have no business trying to read a mafia setup.

    All of the Weird Mafias are kinda unstable, as I am still inexperienced in running these things.

    I have spent a lot of time on balancing the next game, and I am still not satisfied, so it will take a while. : /

    Oh yes. Night 2 in Conspiracy Town was the best thing. I mean, the Busdriver targetted the Nexus. It was beautiful.

    I did something for the one I'm running (EVERYONE IS RUNNING AT LEAST ONE ON THIS FORUM) where I randomized everyone's actions Night 0 with one more role than there was players, and just had the role killed night 0 be an NPC. This way, people get something to go on Day 1, and everybody gets to play.

    Of course, if there were roles that required user input (for instance, send an anonymous message to someone) they were allowed to come up with the material for it.

    Anyways, here is what I have in my guide to the MSPAFA mafias that happened Post-Schmaltz. This is quite rudimentary at the moment, but I will work on it later. If someone has something interesting to add to it, tell me.

    Yeah, n0 by itself is fine (although it is a huge huge buff to the town, since a cop could theoretically nail scum)

    Guys, always remember: Fingers of Suspicion are very useful and have a lot of weight to them, and you should prioritize just how many pegs you're knocking the other person down according to the following chart:

    Made by cyber95. This setup has to be seen to believed. It was made on purpose, to make the game unbalanced, crazy, and borderly unwinnable.
    It really does. That game is a pile of insanity that I appreciate all the more now that I know just how fucked everyone is.

    I don't care about all those lynches against scum I lead in that one game anymore. I will never mention it again. Because my favorite mafia moment was in clusterfuck, when I broke the game by day-lynching someone from beyond the grave, fueled by the power of a shitty gif.

    I honestly didn't think anything would happen.

    Hmm. I'm glad you guys are familiar with the honor system... my game will require SO much honor system compliance you have no idea.

    Basically... I'm dividing my players up into two threads, and they are only allowed to read their own threads. I'm planning on having the thread titles and first posts have huge warnings about who isn't allowed to read them.

    Kazuhiro, if you're gonna do that sort of thing I'd personally recommend an offsite board like Excoboard. Either that, or register and +s two IRC channels or something.

    This is just coming from someone who has had many dead cats as consequence of her actions.

    I might name both threads something along the lines of "DON'T CLICK HERE" and tell people to go through them through links on the first post of the main thread only. And to be extra paranoid, I might tell people to put their entire posts into spoilers. I don't like the idea of making all my players make accounts on an external board.

    3 person and 5 person are silly, but c9 (a seven player setup where there are two scum, 0-1 docs, 0-1 cops) is the best setup ever

    Well, then.

    I'm open to suggestions. And I guess I was hoping to save the "whoa" of how complicated and cool this variant is for later.

    You have two villages and a group of Gypsies. Each village plays their own game of Werewolf, but the Gypsies alternate which town they sit in on, sleep in, and vote with. The two villages are in physically separate rooms so their only contact with the other village is via the people who travel in between.

    Any suggestions?

    Also: Yeah, 5-man can go badly, but 7-man is probably one of my all-around favorite ways to play Werewolf. You have two "evil" groups of two each, and one "good" group of three. It's the best way I know to learn advanced Werewolf skils.
