My suggestion is to give the RTD a good theme. Might I recommend unicellular organisms as your theme?
Other games that would be good is:
A Sid Meier's Pirates like game. It would be a competitive game to get most money and/or eliminate each other.
A shopkeep game. Some new stores open up selling the same type of goods (probably generic rpg equipment) and must bankrupt each other out of the market. You choose what to sell, the price, how many, etc. Customer satisfaction is the key to winning. There would also be sabotage of the other players., for a price. Essentially a slightly more complicated and multiplayer lemonade stand game.
we need chess gamez!!1!
though if there was some way to make a nonstandard, multiplayer game of chess I'd totally play it
I made a 4player chess once with custom figurines. It took forever to finish. And even then it was a draw agreement between two players. :|
EDIT: Oh I misremembered, green gave up instead of playing forever when he had only his king and a pawn left, while blue still had a large force.
when I said nonstandard I meant the chess game itself :P like somehow make a chess RTD or something
could be entertaining
I'd like to express my approval and thanks for the collected moderating association for synchronising daystarts!!!
well said tea
The Artificier's Lore:
The players are fragments of a meteorite (and meteorites are obviously magic), and soon, they are forged into items. The player's goal is to become a Famous and Powerful Item during the game time of a few hundred years. You could slowly get powers, and could slowly manipulate fate of the people who owns them. Become the ONE FORK, if you wish to be, and enslave the LESSER FORK. Become a sword that is handed down between the noble lineage of the JUSTICE KINGS. Or become the VAMPIRIC BADGE who attaches himself to the person who killed its previous owner. Perhaps you could control an entire walking church, if you were a bell in its tower and gained sufficient power. Or maybe you shall be cast into the ocean and wait for a hundred years before a fisherman fishes you out?
In the end, all that matters is who is the most legendary, when the person... or thing that owned the meteor comes back for you...
sounds really badass
so basically we're sentient weapons? make this game pl
I am so signed up for this, PL. /so/ signed up for this.
now go run it kthx.
if you're on mibbit I have no clue how to make a permanent link, but you can just go onto the mibbit app and select Esper as your network and join #mspafia and you're in.
And you're not interested in our otherwise scintillating conversation? :<
Here is a permalink:
Item game is a cool thing, and I was thinking to myself, oh wow, that is just the kind of half-freeform, loose mechanic type, game-thing that I enjoy doing.
Then I remembered that I have Vaschemalation on the backburner, an adventure to update, and Popsicles to Gang Warfare.
I am the best at updates you guys, Jacquerel has NOTHING ON ME.
I have something of an idea regarding how to make the old harvest moon game suggestion work. It would be either a team game with two or three teams or a free for all. The game would consist of day and night phases. During the day phase you can spend as much energy as you want on farming but you would need to keep some energy ready for the night phase where you can attack other players or be attacked. Add in a few shops, a lot of random events and some very friendly NPCs to spice things up and the goal is to be the player with the most money at the end. Perhaps the game should be called something like Red moons bounty or something cool like that.
yes please do
it should be interesting
I might make another mafia after Redfia ends, btw
Sul's now accepting applications for characters within CS2.
I mean, you wouldn't be a nation, but you could still play your part within an ever-changing stage. See his post for more info. I know that, for one, the Verren Republic would be more than happy to have any of you as citizens.
Oh my god PL. Amazing.
Another idea going off of that:
1/2 of the players would be people using the weapons, 1/2 would BE the weapons
Bluh bluh, signature dumb stupid.
Insert spoiler full of random stuff here
But you could possibly have the items consciously nudging dice rolls for the player using them.
Leading to some pretty good equipment, and some pretty cursed stuff too.
So it could be something like:
This actually sounds cool, but I like your original idea of just items a bit better.
