Pirate Questventure! (This game might have a better name)

So I have decided to create another forum game, this one is a text based rpg about pirates who gain superpowers by burying treasure on deserted islands! This game will actually be considerably less complicated than my usual games. There will be no major plot to this adventure and the primary objective is character improvement and survival. I intend to make every encounter possible to complete without any casualties provided that the players are clever enough and can think of a good strategy, and death with be permanent, so if you get killed you will not only be out of the game but it will probably be your own fault.

Combat in this game will work a bit differently than in most traditional games. Your health stat works exactly as you would expect it to. Each point of defense you have will prevent 1 point of damage per turn. Each point of speed will allow you to take one action per turn, so having 4 speed will let you act 4 times. Each point in slots will let you carry one item into battle and by item I mean weapons, tools and potions. You'll need to find a proper balance for these stats.

Weapons will work differently in this game than in most normal rpg games. You need to equip weapons into your slots and you can carry many different weapons at a time. Weapons will have the following stats: Range, Power, Acts and Slots. A weapon needs to have a range tolerance which covers the distance between you and an enemy to work, power will determine how hard the weapon hits, the Acts stat determines how many acts per turn a weapon requires to use; for example a weapon with a speed stat of 2 requires 2 acts to use. And the slots stat requires how many slots you need to equip the weapon. Weapons might also have special effects such as poison and armor piercing. Most weapons can only be used once per turn.

When in combat each player will start with a "distance" stat. For simplicities sake enemies will not have a separate distance and your own distance stat will be applied for all enemies. Aside from just using the items you have equipped, you can use acts to change your distance distance stat; one act will increase or decrease your distance by 1. If you have empty slots you can use your fists in combat as a 1/1/2/1 weapon (two acts needed to use it, can be used once per empty slot). Depending on the area you can also attempt to pick up items, this action will have varying degrees of effectiveness. If you are in a bad location you can throw a sword or hit someone with a gun, the former usually being a bad idea. When a turn is resolved your attacks against a certain target will be compared to your enemies attacks and the lower value will be subtracted from the higher value which is then counted as damage. If you are not careful you can be overwhelmed by enemy numbers and ganging up on a single enemy comes with the risk that all the other enemies will be able to attack unopposed.

Okay, so problemProtagonist and I are working on a set of rules for a Mafia Game that spawned from a joke we made on pesterchum, but it's a little more complex than the vanilla version. Since she and I are a tad inexperienced at this, we thought it best to ask for a little help from someone who's GM'd a few Mafia games. We would really appreciate it if you could tell us what we're doing wrong, if it's too unbalanced, etc. Any critique you have to offer.

The Players are divided into two teams: Team Prospit and Team Derse. Additionally, there's also a player as Doc Scratch. Each player only knows which team he or she is on; they don't know who their teammates are. Doc Scratch, however, knows everyone's alignment. He is omniscient, after all. The goal is to be the first team to get all of your players lynched (so they can Ascend to the God Tiers), or, if you're Scratch, you're goal is to prevent either team from winning in x amount of days (depends on the amount of players, generally a few more days than there are players). The players will also be assigned a Role or Aspect at random, allowing them access to a power upon Ascending. No player will know which power they have until their dreamself dies or they ascend.

Day Phase: The players vote on who to lynch. The person that is lynched will ascend that night UNLESS the lynch is negated or their dreamself is dead. A player whose dreamself is killed still has the ability to vote as long as their wakingself is still alive. A God Tier player is unable to vote, but has access to their Title or Aspect Power in the Night Phase.

Night Phase: Team Prospit will be able to consult the Skaian clouds for vague hints (i.e., they ask a GM a question. Questions such as "Which team is x on?" will not be allowed.).

Team Derse gets to use one of two options: consulting with the Horrorterrors, (same effect as the Skaian Clouds, but more forward in their answers) at the price of Grimdarkness (losing the ability to vote the following day) OR submitting an anonymous vote to Archagent Jack Noir to have one player’s dreamself killed (the target will only be known by which Title or Aspect they have), preventing their Ascension. A player may not use both on the same night.

Descriptions of the powers:

-Omniscience: Doc Scratch knows who has which power, as well as their alignment.
-Accelerate: If Doc Scratch is killed, the Scratch will occur one day earlier than anticipated. -Time: Returns the game to the start of the previous day. May only be used once.
-Void: Negates the day’s lynching. May only be used once.
-Mind: Allows the player to see the alignment of one player per night.
-Blood: Allows the player to initiate contact with another player of the same team.
-Doom: Allows one player to automatically be killed. May only be used once.
-Life: Allows the player to resurrect one dreamself.
-Thief: Allows the player to steal one other player’s vote (to be used the following day).
-Prince: Negates one player’s power.
-Seer: Allows one to see which power is available to one player per night.
-Knight: Allows one player to protect a dreamself. If the dreamself is targeted that night, the Knight is killed instead.

Priorities, in order from lowest-to-highest, are Ascension --> Dreamself death --> Knight --> Void --> Life --> Thief --> Grimdark --> Doom -->Seer -->Mind --> Blood --> Time --> Prince --> Omniscience --> Accelerate
