    Re: Theme and Style Issues

The unread icon for PMs is an open letter. Unread ones are sealed. Not sure if this is right, or not.

My offering if you're considering changing them anyway: Pesterchum indication icons (fattened up a bit to make the most of the 16x16 offered by the original icons)

    Read:
    Unread:

And then because it didn't contrast as well against the background, with slightly darker colours:

    Read:
    Unread:

If there's any other icons other than those ones, I'd be happy to try and throw something together if you like the look of these

Edit: Oh, also while I'm here being annoying, please consider making the size of reply titles less obtrusive.

    Re: Theme and Style Issues

The background colour for previews is not the same as the background colour for actual posts.

Edit2: Now the background colour for posts on the reply page is not the same as the background colour for actual posts (This colour that they aren't supposed to be happens to be #b9b9b9 for any interested parties)

Edit3: I've also just noticed that the "Post New Thread" button at the bottom of a forum page, is hiding behind the thread display options in this subforum (Forum Q&A) and not in the MSPA SubForum. I am using chrome v6.0.466.0 dev

Edit: Additionally, I would like to say that when scanning the page (top down) one begins by seeing the awesome aliased MSPA logo in white on a black background followed by GRADIENTS AND SHADOWS AND SHINIES AND IT'S ALL WRONG! 8bit is the way to go! That is all.

Browsing the forum topics, they all have huge letters. Seems unnecessary. Also it's slightly annoying having a huge page that shouldn't be this large but it is because the text is huge.

The border between posts and signatures is so light that it can be hard to tell where a post ends and a signature begins sometimes.

Minor issue: Italicizing quotes with italics leads those italics to being indistinguishable from the rest of the text.

    Code:
    [quote]These [i]italics[/i] are no more.[/quote]
    These italics are no more.
Really, I don't see any reason that quotes should be italicized anyway, so that's probably an easy enough fix right there.

I'm pretty sure posts aren't supposed to look like that.

    That's weird.

Looks fine in the new theme though. That's why I didn't notice it.

Looks fine to me in this theme. Did you accidentally click the checkbox in the upper right corner of the post?

It also looks messed up to me, and I just clicked the link.

Oh, I though that was the thing you clicked when you wanted to reply with multiple quotes, so everyone has it.

    Re: Theme and Style Issues

Tiny thing: whenever I refresh a page so that it shows which threads have new posts, there is a delay of about 2 sec between the text coming up and the "go to unread post" graphics appearing. Those small circles with the double down arrows are what I want to click on usually, so what would normally be a reasonable delay becomes disproportionately irritating, especially since so many links that I don't want to click on all become usable as soon as the page text loads. You can't speed up how fast the images load of course, but what would help is if the "go to unread posts" graphics had some alt-text, so I could start clicking the links before the graphics loaded.

There's still some rating stuff in there, but I'm removing all of it.

I really don't know if this is the right place to post this, but I'm having a really hard time looking through the forum.

This is what the forum looks like to me. For some reason the whole thing is stretched out.

That's because you have not completely loaded the .css files. This is almost invariably caused by the browser not loading them properly or at all.

I'm assuming it's the little image next to "You have posted in this thread"?
