This forum used to have "who is viewing this subforum/thread" at the bottom of every page. It was taken out when everything was overloading the server. So it's gone for the same reason we have a time delay on repeated searches: to prevent the forum from needing ANOTHER server upgrade.

well sometimes I just want to look down and see if Joe Shmoe is on, or if what I'm doing will be seen by X number of people who are on... but looking at the online list... good lord. Theres a lot of people on. I had no idea. Kinda feels lonely without spotting my name amoungst the crowds on the bottom of the main forum page.

I recently changed my email address, and after doing so, I changed it on the forum so my notifications regarding subscribed threads would go to my new email. Now, refreshing the page logs me out of my account. It's a minor annoyance to log back on, for the most part, but is there anything I can do about it?

If you were talking to me, which I'm assuming you were, I don't particularly see how that would help. From my rather limited knowledge of this sort of thing, wouldn't this just log me out every time I left and came back...which is basically what's happening already?

The point is that after you have cleared your cookies, you can set it to "remember me" again.

Every once in a while (and I’ve experienced this with a variety of sites; it’s a common albeit infrequent glitch), your cookies for a certain site can end up wrong somehow and keep telling the site to log you out, even after you relog. Deleting your cookies just lets you start fresh, and usually fixes the problem.

Naturally, you only have to delete cookies relevant to the glitched login.

yeah this is a thing that's come up at least half a dozen times before and probably 85% of the time clearing your cookies fixes it

We're tired of things like too-big signatures, RPing in non-RP areas, text gimmicks, spoiler dungeons, and so on and so on. Anything that makes forumers read the rules is a boon to the staff, and frankly the potential loss of any hypothetical user who can't be bothered to familiarize themselves with the forum's rules and culture isn't a particularly big one to us.

And I just wanted to say a hearty thank you for that, it is really appreciated. I wandered into another forum yesterday and I got severely annoyed by said tiring things. So yeah, this continues to be the best forum forever, stay cool.

Sorry about that, I've unbanned your account. Not sure how I slipped up, usually it's blatantly obvious which posts are spam and which are legit.

Can we have the option to adjust the timestamp format that we see? Years ago phpBB let every user specify an arbitrary string to be passed to the PHP date-formatting function[1] so I guess that vB can support it too.

Motivation: I was trying to observe the historical posting rate of a FA, and kept getting confused by the way that 11PM is followed by 12AM, and that by 1AM. Also I keep having to think to understand the American date format in various other situations.

I will concur with this statement, and also add that if that is too much to ask then a drop down menu asking for day-first, month-first or year-first dating and 12/24hr notation would be a great fallback.

I apologize that this is not exactly feedback, but just a question:

I thought MSPA Classic was being made the default skin for the forums, hence why you can only see the cool infraction graphic and jailed user icons under that skin. However, new skins like [o] MSPA Style and [o] MSPA Style Mono are under MSPA Style, which I thought was being phased out.

Has that changed? Is MSPA Style here to stay and new tweaks will be under that style and not MSPA Classic, which is where I thought new styles were going to be introduced under?
