First, click on settings, located in the bar at the top. Then scroll down until you see My Settings on the left side of the screen. Almost under it, you will find the Edit Profile button.

This also depends on where you frequent the forums. Some places are more active than others. I think late night in the eastern Americas is a peak, since plenty of people are awake and chatting up the comic discussion thread. (And I usually have to sleep by then) It's usually when the members online reaches 300+, when things start rolling in certain threads. There should be more people, but I heard many moved to Skype and stuff. Oh yeah and when there's an update. Then people go nuts.

Generally from like 2:00 pm-2:00am UTC?
(9:00 am-9:00 pm East Coast time I think)

Question: How do searches work? How are "keywords" designated? I know that a particular word has been used in an individual's posts several times, but it doesn't turn up any results.

Are you fucking serious? EST at midnight the forum moves at one post per 15 minutes!

Really? I'm usually at comic discussion, and there we're usually moving at a decent pace at this point in time. Not TOO active, but nice. I honestly don't really know. Fish is probably more correct, as usual.

    Re: General Feedback

Well my next question is concerning the 12 post entry limit. Why do we have it?
My only assumption is that it's to prevent "I'm new!" topics and what-not, so the users are forced to introduce themselves through posts, but I did read that it was something about anti-spam. Maybe that was another site....

    Re: General Feedback

For multiple reasons, which I'm sure are detailed more thoroughly somewhere else, like the original wigglers thread. It is put in place to firstly stop spam, as that limits the target areas. Secondly, sometimes new members want to create a new topic for something, while it already exists elsewhere, so by making them have to post first, they are more likely to find said topic and contribute, rather than splitting the discussion.

Didn't you do your reading when you signed up? I'm pretty sure it explains everything. You need 12 posts to make your own thread, unless you're making a forum adventure. Then just start it in the cradle.

The quote boxes look different! o: I noticed that all on my own, wooh.
    ...I think

When I Edit a post it now goes automatically to Advanced Edit, no exception. Before, it only went to Advanced Edit when I hadn't refreshed the page after posting. I'm not very bothered by it, I just thought I should mention in case I'm doing something wrong.
    Maybe it depends on browser?

EDIT: Testing. yup, refreshed, still goes to Advanced Edit

It was because they disabled AJAX scripting to fix some other problems.

Do you remember that period of time when the forums used to constantly ask you if you wanted to leave a page with a pop-up window, and even if you said yes, it would sometimes double-post? That's what he's talking about. If I'm reading/remembering right, a major route for that error was in the AJAX scripting... but the forum has no way of turning off just the features that were causing problems, so everything that used AJAX had to go, and that included the basic Edit feature.

Back in my day there was no quick reply box! What is now the advanced reply page used to be the only way to do it.

Is there a topic about the current Kickstarter for Homestuck? I need to ask a question but I won't be around long enough to make 12 posts to make my own topic. I just want to ask a question about it and this is the only place I can see where I can do that.

But I love advanced mode! It's a partial security system against ninjas when you click preview post, and it gives ALL the tools. I wish it had a color button, but it seems complicated to put in.

Question: Do ALL threads get locked at page 100, or are there some exceptions? Asking because this... "RP Thing?" I organized is getting to breaking point, so I just want to know if it'll get locked and I'll have to make a new one, or if we'll continue our merry way through the VAST 100.

Yeah you have to make a new one to continue after your thread reaches page 100. You can even make it per-emptively and close your thread early.

The 100 page limit is a soft cap. You may have noticed in the past that the comic discussion threads have occasionally gone 10+ pages beyond. I believe the moderators have cyborg implants that allow them to zero in on threads that have at least 100 pages, and they manually lock them.

Also, I agree with your advanced mode ninja finding methods. * points at ninjagorg *
    I have spoilers now?
    What's up with that?

Thanks. Just wanted to make sure, since I didn't want to take up too much space with additional threads. About the cyborg implants... that's pretty believable. SERIOUS: I think they have a sort of program/option that allows them to see threads nearing the 100 count.

Haha, ninjagorg. NOT EVEN PREVIEW POST CAN STOP IT.

    Re: General Feedback

Its a rule that was put in place when +100 page threads would literally start to slow down and break down the forum. Now we do it as a way to keep threads a reasonable length.
