This may or may not be me being a derp, but... I can't find the Pictures & Albums thing in my settings. It's pretty important, since otherwise I can't put up pictures. Also, it's not under the Quick Links like the FAQ says...
^As a member, you can create Albums of images that are linked to your public profile. Albums can be created by visiting the User Control Panel, and clicking on the 'Pictures & Albums' link, and then clicking on 'Add Album'.
Each album can have a title ('Joe's Holiday to Nepal'), a description ('A bunch of photos from my recent adventure') and can be of three different types: Public, Private or Profile.
Public albums can be viewed by anyone
Private albums can only be viewed by site staff (moderators, administrators) and your Friends and Contacts (info)
Profile albums are viewable only by you. However, you can use the images to customize your public profile (info)
How do I upload pictures?
Once you've created an album you can upload images to it. Simply view the album and click on 'Upload Pictures'.
| This, from the FAQ.
I don't have anywhere else I store my pictures, so I went to the FAQ. Which apparently lied to me.
Yeah, that's disabled (I didn't even know it was a feature). Some common image hosts:

I tried using Photobucker; I got this:![]()

Umm... what? Where is the "Share" and "IMG for bulletin boards & forums" things? I don't see them on my tool bar, in regular or advanced mode, or anywhere in my settings... I'm sorry if I'm annoying you, I'm just useless at this kind of stuff...
Thank you, thank you, thank you! If this was real life I'd hug you but since this is the internet I'll just settle for Nepeta-like role playing.
*The black kitty hug-tackles her fellow black cat in gratitude for his help!*
I personally prefer CubeUpload since it has almost no hassle at all. One input box, one button, one output.
Although I still use Dropbox for every single one of my file sharing needs since you can upload any file of any size, and since it updates from a folder on your hard drive you can just edit images there and they automatically update with the same public link.
OK, for some reason searching the forums appears to default to searching just this thread. When I click "Advanced Search" and then "Search Single Content Type", it says "Search Thread - Bug Reporting". I can search other threads, but I can't search the forums as a whole.
(I feel like there's a good chance this is already known. It's been happening for a while, but it was only now that I realized why.)
EDIT: This only happens when I'm logged in.

Okay, so I have two things that I am going to report. They have been things that have been happening for a little while now, but I thought that maybe they had been noticed. Maybe they have, I don't know, but if the HAVE been noticed, then they have yet to be fixed!
New Page Glitch
I'll start out with the more complicated one. This one is referred to as the new page glitch. How does this work? I will detail this in step by step format.
1: A post is deleted
2: The post disappears
3: Even though the post has disappeared as far as we can tell, it is still registered as being there on the server.
4: These posts accumulate, usually only with in the thread, or within threads of similar names.
5: Even though there are enough posts that a new page should be started, the post, even though it is registered as being there, does not cause a new page to start, and is instead hidden from view unless you click the go advanced button for posting options.
This is actually my second encounter with this, as well as with the other bug to be mentioned hereafter. The first encounter was on a previous forum that I used to frequent, and it got so bad that the entire forum had to be moved to a different server and partially rewritten so that this would not occur ever again.
Lag Bomb
The second bug is referred to as the Lag Bomb. This can be observed when a person is posting at a moment when the server is lagging. This one is actually more difficult to predict as to when it would happen since the server has to be lagging at the exact moment that a person is wanting to post something, but when it DOES take place, it makes the persons one post into multiple posts, which then have to be deleted. I have personally witnessed this happen both here and on the forums that I frequented previous to this one, and at one point had my one posts turn into nineteen as a result. True story!
But yeah, we kind of really need these fixed. Otherwise, everything is going to go to shit. No joke.
Two times recently the MSPA Comic Discussion subforum seems to "eat" posts.
A few days ago, I posted in the recent update react topic, but my post didn't show up. I refreshed, still nothing. I went to the main page of the site, and there it said someone new had posted in the topic.
I went to the topic again, but that post didn't show up nor did mine.
I went to the subforum itself and there it said another poster did the last post.
So all 3 pages gave different results. This lasted about 30 minutes.
The same happened when my brother went on his laptop at the same time.
And now the same seems to be happening to me again.
EDIT: Alright, now it's fixed again...
Fortunately it was less longer than last time.

That happens when the server's being a dork; if the thread goes onto a new page, it does not create it, but it saves the posts. Hence, it appears to be eating the posts. From what I've seen, when that happens, the Fora as a whole gives you the last post, the Subfora gives you the last successful post, and the thread gives you the most recent post on that page. That gives you your three different last posters. Also, that's why NaS et al. are trying to upgrade the servers.
I've subscribed to the current Homestuck Discussion thread and Subscribed to it via e-mail notification and it updated several times without me getting any e-mails. Yesterday, I got a notification from a different thread I Subscribed to, is this something I can fix?
EDIT: It seemed to somehow fix itself...Sorry for this useless post.
Oh, okay, thanks.
I just had another kind of glitch. I was in the comic discussion topic, on page 62 and it said there was a page 63. I clicked on it and it just went to the top of page 62 again. Several times even. Even when I manually changed the URL.
And it says there's one post on the next page.
Jezus these servers. :P
At least I know there's being worked on it, heh.

Simple problem - somebody has made a post that would be the first of a new page, but then deleted it. In the specific case you're talking about the problem was actually that somebody had made a post that went into moderation due to their wiggler status.
It's not a big issue, really?
Yeah, it's not a big issue, I just was a bit curious to the cause of it.
Thank you for answering!

I have this occasional and kind of infuriating problem that may be of similar cause to Striders, or may be page-break related. What happens is that I'll post a reply, and then firefox (I'm running the most current version) pops up this wonderful "yes means no, no means yes" dialog asking me if I want to stay on the page, or leave it.
Normally, when stuff works right, a post is simply submitted, and the page my message was added to is displayed. When this bug happens, one or more of these things happen, seemingly independent of which button I push:
- The session sits in whirling-icon refresh mode for a LONG time.
- I get the page that says I've posted too fast and have to wait 30 seconds.
- the page clears and I'm back where I was before replying (not the most recent one).
Again, seemingly independent of which button I push, whether the page eventually does say I posted successfully or just hangs, or whether I give up and simply close it, the post will go through. Sometimes, and in fact twice in a row today which is why I'm writing, I get not one, but TWO posts in a row for one button press, with identical content. I was watching for it the second time today, and I am absolutely positive I did not push the send button twice.
I wish I could do this at will, but I haven't figured out the pattern. I know how annoying bug reports like that are, apologies!
