    Bug Reporting

We're not the sharpest tools in the shed all the time and there are some issues with the new board. If you run into something, let us know here with as much detail as possible. Let us know what you were doing when the error occurred and take a screenshot if you can.

Known issues out of the gate:

-Some character-encoding ended up going through paradox space and came out goofy. This is in old posts only.

    - Avatars and signatures have not transferred over. They were causing quite a bit of trouble and mostly were against the new rules.

    - Sizes now range from 1 to 7, so all those SIZE 200 posts and sigs are massive. I'm going to implement a fix for that myself, but until then, if your sig is huge, fix it.

    - Old forum links don't work anymore, because we aren't there anymore. I'd like to find a way to fix that, but it's not a trivial undertaking so it might be some time.

Also known: private message title link colors are difficult to read.

Actually if anyone knows which style variable to edit in order to fix that, I'd be eternally grateful if you shared that info.

I keep getting things like this: Fatal error: Out of memory (allocated 4194304) (tried to allocate 77824 bytes) in /home/admin/domains/mspaforums.com/public_html/includes/class_bbcode.php on line 1374

    Is that supposed to happen???

Also: So I tried stalking the other Andrew H (going to his profile and clicking View all posts) and I got this:

    vBulletin Message
Sorry - no matches. Please try some different terms.

The system doesn't know how to find posts from the old forum apparently!!

Also also: The forum tends to load slowly for me. Did you install the servers in Canada or something???

Also also also: Whenever I hit quick reply it thinks I'm double posting (it says "please wait 30 more seconds before posting again" and shows my reply at the bottom). Minor bug, nothing too bad.

I'm getting the same error as the guy above ("out of memory")

For reference when you click on a link to a thread or board, every so often something like this will show up:

Will you be able to fix the whole text backgrounds in the new forums, or will they stay broken??

Because that will probably be a big problem for the Collab/RP Mspafa Subforum, a lot of posts where ruined

Quoting doesn't nest any quotes within the post. For example, trying to quote this post brings up empty quote tags.

Will you eventually fix things like centred text, spoilers, and Youtube links? Because my adventure looks like crap now. Also, the apostrophe is broken, and I heard you say there were character encoding issues, but is it possible to fix them so I don't have a bunch of gibberish in every contraction I've ever typed?

A solid color background or an outline?

The 'code' stuff from before (I don't use fancy words?) isn't working. Like, the code line thingies would make it so you could post a block of code for something and it'd show up as the code instead of what the code would do. Like, image tags placed in a code tag would show up as the actual text of the image tag instead of an image. Those aren't working right now. I saw a code I made earlier and instead of the code of the image tags, it just showed the images itself.

Viewing a user's posts (from their profile or the mouseover options) doesn't seem to give me anything before 05-09-2009 anymore.

I'm not sure if this is a bug, or if someone else has brought this issue forward in another thread, but the MSPA Art Thread seems to be missing.

Then again, what do I know?

We're still rebuilding the search index so older posts may not be indexed yet.

I am unable to update my profile without entering a date of birth. It is clearly possible not to specify one's date of birth since I didn't have one immediately after the import, but for some reason if you ever want to update your profile you must specify it.

In an amazing co-incidence not related to the above, I notice that despite already having graduated from university at the time of writing, I was born on the very same day that John arrived on Earth!

Another bug: If you get your date of birth wrong, or don't lie enough, or lie too much, you cannot edit it.

Not sure if this counts a bug or a stylesheet issue, but I can't figure out where to go to edit post drafts. Do we still have that feature?

To be in compliance with COPPA we are requiring users to have a date of birth in their profile. You do have the option of hiding it on your profile.

Ok, thanks. How does one go about fixing it then?
