HA! No. From this range you’d need something like a Rifle. The longest range weapon you’ve got on you is your Throwing Knives, and you wouldn’t count on those taking out Cairo even if you weren’t close enough to use them. If you could get the drop on him, get him with your Garrote or some poison, or a sword through the gut, then maybe you could take him down. Otherwise, you would consider yourself lucky to get out of a fight with Cairo alive, especially if he was using his guns.

Yeah, it’s time to get out of here.

You are now Johnny Rouge, it is now the following morning. You and your team have just enjoyed a hearty breakfast and exchanged information. It’s time to plan your next move.
    Facts of the Case
-The thieves who took the flag are apparently interested in artifacts connected with stories about supernatural powers.
-They took the flag to the Storm Point lighthouse, which they have under guard. They also own an office building near the city.
-The thieves appear to be able to teleport.
-They are supported by the Orange Lotus crime syndicate.
Jessica : …and the Orange Lotus has sent one of their top enforcers to keep an eye on things.
Eddie: Top enforcers, so this Cairo guy is dangerous?
Jessica : Extremely, He’s very, very fast, and he’s a lot better with that submachine gun then he has any right to be. No offense Eddie, but he could probably beat you.
Eddie: No offense Lady Blue, but I think you’re overestimating his capabilities, or underestimating mine. I’ll try to stay clear of him though.
Yellowjacket: Why, I thought you were mister badass mercenary guy?
Eddie: Well, a smart mister badass mercenary guy stays alive by fighting people he knows he can beat unless it’s absolutely necessary.
Yellowjacket: … I guess that makes sense, it just seems a little, I don’t know…
Eddie: Go ahead and say it Stinger: “Cowardly”. You think I’m a coward because I don’t want to fight Lady Blue’s boyfriend.
    Jessica :He is NOT my-
Eddie: - I’ve fought plenty of ninjas, each one claiming they mastered ancienter mysteries than the last. If this Cairo gets in our way, I’ll take him out. You stick to the tech stuff and let me pick my battles.
Jessica : Speaking of picking battles, Johnny? You’ve been oddly quiet. Any thoughts on our next move.
Johnny:Sorry, I was thinking about waffles.
    Yellowjacket:You just had waffles.
Johnny: Which is why I had the energy to formulate the next step in our brilliant plan, which I will tell you
Yellowjacket: Just as soon as you think it up?
Johnny: Shut up. I’ll tell you right now…

    - Infiltrate the office, the security shouldn't be that high there at the moment
    - Trigger a attack on the lighthouse, by giving a hint to the security firm.
    - They will probable teleport the flags away,as soon as the security firm appears on their doorstep
    - If the teleport to the office, steal the flags back.If the teleport somewhere else we know another hideout and can plan another attempt.

    Re: Honor Amongst

We're not sure if they'll do exactly that. Jade seems to think pretty highly of Cairo (so obviously not her boyfriend, riiiiiiight). Is it only because he's an incredible fighter, or is he smart too? If Orange Lotus has guys smart enough to develop teleportation technology, I think they'd rely just as much on brains as they do on brawn. Need some confirmation from Jade on this.

Anyway, if Cairo's actually smart, he might figure out that someone knows about what's at the lighthouse and think of using a decoy escape attempt while his group teleports away with the 'flag'. If he's really smart, he might figure out that someone else might know about their teleportation technology. The someone else being the ones who tried to interfere with their group's attempted thievery last time (ie; Johnny and friends). So the group teleporting away with their loot is a decoy while the ones trying to physically get away from the police will be carrying the real loot. That, or they'd leave the loot behind in their lighthouse.

    I might be over-thinking things.

Anyway, we should send Eddie and Johnny over to the office to set up, and Jade to the lighthouse just to keep an eye on the action. If she can, she could try and infiltrate the lighthouse when the thieves + the Orange Syndicate leave. Snoop the place up a bit. That or make sure the thieves and their backers all teleport out of the lighthouse instead of trying to be sneaky and having the teleportation escape just be a ruse.

    HRUMPH.

Look, the way I see it, they're techmages. It just feels RIGHT (in that this is modern times). It's fine if you think it's just purely magic, but your tone of voice is kind of insulting (since it kind of insinuates that I did not at all read the past updates).

    Re: Honor Amongst

If they are gathering the supposedly mystical items and they can teleport, there has to be some truth to the myths. we won't be able to beat them with our current power. If we want to win, we'll first have to be able to fight the on equal grounds. the answer is obvious. we need to get some of these items for ourselves.

Androx: It just makes so much seeeeeeense! It's hard making theories. It's hard and no one understands.

An organization hires thieves to steal mystical artifacts. They learn how to use said artifacts' magical abilities. If they're going far enough to learn how to use the artifacts, it also seems likely that they're planning to replicate the powers so that they could equip their entire organization with these things. They'd be unstoppable thieves!!!!

    Re: Honor Amongst

    (Blurgh, sleepy.)

Johnny: Alright, as far as I can tell, much of our plan will rely on Cairo. If the Orange Lotus is behind this, then he’s probably the one in charge, even if these thieves don’t realize it. It’s hard to pull a con when you don’t know the mark. Fortunately, we have an inside source, Jess, how smart is this Cairo guy.
    Jessica : He’s an idiot.
Yellowjacket: Really? Because there are plenty of flavors of stupid out there. Are we talking your standard issue moron, or a puffed up egomaniac, or what?
Jessica : Well, no. He won’t be getting an invitation from MENSA anytime soon, but he’s hardly a drooling idiot. The Orange Lotus wouldn’t have made him an officer if he didn’t have some brains. He’s got a very straightforward, aggressive mindset. When he encounters a problem he’ll decide whether or not he thinks he can overcome it. If he thinks he can, he’ll engage it directly with everything he has, if not, he’ll try to avoid conflict and pull back to somewhere safe.
    Eddie: This is in combat?

Jessica : This is in everything. He’s got a serious fear of failure, it’s a side effect of our upbringing.
Johnny: Did you just say “our”?
Jessica : No, I said “his”.
Johnny: I think you said “our”.
    Yellowjacket: She said “our”.
Jessica : Shut up all three of you.
    Eddie: I haven’t said anything.
Jessica : You were going to. Look, the point is, the moment he feels like he doesn’t understand the situation he will cut his losses and try to get somewhere safe. His greatest fear is that he will make a decision that ends badly, and his response is to avoid making decisions whenever possible.
    Johnny: So, he’s a soldier?
Jessica : Basically. He’s very capable, but he’s not creative. Once he has a target, he’ll go after it aggressively, but he’s not good at reacting to changing variables.
Johnny: How would he react to, say, an attack on the lighthouse?
Jessica : If he thought he could beat it, he’d gather anybody who can hold a gun and start fighting. If he thought it was overwhelming, he’d grab anything mission-critical and try to get somewhere safe where he would wait for further instructions. As I said, he’s terrified of taking his own initiative in case it goes badly for him.
Johnny: He’s also not your boyfriend.
Jessica : He’s NOT MY! Wait- Yes, you said “not”, and that is correct. He is definitely not my boyfriend.
Johnny: Not anymore anyway. I’m getting a definite Ex vibe off you right now.

Jessica : Shut Up, and shouldn’t you be planning a heist or something!
Johnny: Oh, I am. And don’t worry; we’ll get back to that pronoun later, but first, we’ve got to get that flag back before they see through Henri’s work.

    Re: Honor Amongst

Eddie: As amusing as this all is, we should really be focusing on the job, dontcha think?
Johnny: You’re right. Okay, Jess, grab some protein bars and head back to Storms Point. Get ready for a long stakeout, we need eyes on that lighthouse.
Jessica : Got it, I’ll keep things locked down tight.
Yellowjacket: Um, I know I’m not some kind of super-spy or ninja or whatever, but why are we sending Jess to sit in the bushes for hours.
Johnny: Because we need to know what is going on there, if they start to move out, we need a heads up.
Yellowjacket: I understand that. I’m just wondering why we’re having Jess sit in the bushes. I’ve been working on a telescopic video camera/laser mic setup that works perfectly for this. Give me an hour and I can rig it up with a big battery and a transmitter. I could get that thing working. Jess could hide that in the bushes easily enough.
Johnny: Alright, do it. One other thing, I want some heavy artillery if we need to crack that Lighthouse. Maybe Hivemind can give us a hand there. Do you think you can do that kid?
Yellowjacket: I guess. I know the numbers to call, here’s the thing, even if I drop exactly the right buzzwords, it will still take at least an hour for Hivemind to check up on any tips I drop them, get a team suited up, and get them to the location. Also, I’ve been monitoring the news, the robbery was a huge embarrassment for Hivemind, if I call them in, they will come with everything they have.
Eddie: And what exactly is that?
Yellowjacket: Heavy Response Teams, robots, helicopters, the whole nine yards. If we call down the thunder, we better hope we don’t get caught in the crossfire.
Johnny: Alright Kid, you and Jess go back to the condo and get her kitted out. Eddie, you and me are going to check out this office.
Eddie: You got it Johnny Boy.

You are still Johnny Rouge. You and Eddie have arrived at the nondescript office owned by LS real estate, and are currently in the parking lot. You have your PISTOL, your KNIFE, your CRIME KIT, your DISGUISE, as well as a couple BUGS and some TRANSMITTERS that you can plug into computers to let Yellowjacket hack them.

You’re not quite sure what Eddie brought with him. As cool and collected as you're acting, the first time you saw him in action kind of left an impression, and you're still having trouble convincing yourself he's not just keeping you around in case he needs a handy spine to bludgeon somebody with.

After that, survey the perimeter. How large is this place? Any places you could duck into and hide in? Is there anyone here at all, like security guards?

(NOTE: I feel like I should tell you what Eddie brought, but this line is too perfect not to use).

Johnny: So, Eddie, what gear did you bring?
    Eddie: What do you mean?
Johnny: Did you bring Climbing ropes, or lock picks, or, I don’t know, stuff that might be useful getting into this building?
Eddie: I brought you Johnny, lets do this.

You had a feeling you weren’t going to get anything useful out of him. You do a quick circle of the building.

You’re only able to see inside the small Waiting Room, where a security guard sits behind a desk. All the other first-floor windows are covered, and you can’t see into the second floor at all. You see two Exits, and a couple Security Cameras. It looks like the only guy watching them is that guard in the lobby.

    - Find out which of this cars would probable belong to a security guard
    - Drive your car against it.Try to minimize the damage to your car.
    - Wait for guard to come out,in case there is someone else watching the security cam,and have Eddy knock him out
    - Bind him and put him in your trunk
    - Disguise as the guard and go back in
    - Place one of ferret boys bugs on the security system and have him check out the building and prepare a loop to sneak Eddy in

Eddie: What’s the plan Johnny Boy?
Johnny: That security guard, we need some way to get him out here.
    Eddie: What are you thinking?
Johnny: Well, using my skill at reading people I’ll carefully watch him over the course of several hours. This will allow me to psychologically profile him, which –
Eddie: Were there any cameras in that lobby?

Johnny: Nah, this place isn’t exactly high-security. Damnit, you made me lose my train of thought, where was I. Ah, yes, once I have psychologically profiled the guard, I can determine which car he drives. THEN, I can-

    Johnny: …Eddie?

Johnny: Eddie, what are you doing!?
Eddie: I’m choking this guard into unconsciousness.
    Johnny: Why!?
Eddie: Because your plan was stupid.
Johnny: How was my plan stupid?
Eddie: This works right. You were going to lure the guard outside then have me knock him out.
    Johnny: Yes but-
Eddie: Rule of thumb Johnny Boy; any plan that works just as well if you substitute “Choke” for “Psychologically Profile” is a stupid plan.
